    Fettuccine with octopus sauce

We went to eat to this restaurant because a friend of mine from Rome suggested it and I'm very glad about that. The position on yelp is not exact though, because this restaurant is in front of the pier of Ostia. The food was delicious, the plates were simple but very well-finished. The food quantity was more than enough for a completely reasonable price, and the staff was very nice. This is not a touristy place, and I strongly recommend it to have a great dinner with seafood and fish!!

After a day at the beach, our group decided to try and find a nice seafood restaurant since this would be the ideal spot next to the Mediterranean. Low and behold, this was a great find! We sat in a nice outside space that had a little shade but also clear plastic walls that helped dilute some of the noise from those walking by and at other restaurants next door. The waitress/hostess was very patient as she didn't seem to speak much English and when I asked her for the check in Italian she became real excited, clapped, and said I did a good job. The food here was also excellent. There was no charge for service, water, or bread. And the prices weren't bad at all. Definitely worth stopping by if you're ever on the beach in Ostia!

Perfect fresh fish unadorned griiled with lemon. I had the cortoni of spinach with lemon & garlic. Perfect. And nobody bugged me.

The staff welcomed us in and we had a great table to take in the beautiful atmosphere here. Lots and lots of vines give this place "that" look. We had the fried appetizer sampler and also a seafood sampler. Both dishes were perfect for sharing and offered a good slice of local cuisine. Our very friendly waitress kept the wine coming. It was a great spot for losing track of time and waiting out a healthy Mediterranean storm.

If anything, for the atmosphere. I really love the interior dining area with all the hanging plants. It was quite lovely. We were greeted as we walked through the terrace to the entryway. I think it had just opened for lunch because there were only a few people seated. We had our pick of tables. The seating arrangement was comfortable. The service was good. It was a little detached, and that's okay. I like to have some interaction with the server, but that's not always possible when you're a tourist in a new place. We chose this restaurant more for the varied menu. Ostia is full of seafood, and my husband is more of a land lover. He ordered the Diavola from the Pinse & Roman Pizza side of the menu. I selected the Paccheri from the Pasta first course side. We shared an appetizer of Fritto Misto while waiting for the meal. We especially loved the fried ascolane olives & supplì (filled with rice, tomato sauce, and mozzarella). These were very tasty. The Paccheri sauce (carbonara) and seafood (mussels, clams, & octopus) was absolutely delicious. The pasta was a little too al dente for me. I think it's preferred that way in some regions. I forgot to ask them to cook it longer. It's a thicker pasta, so I didn't really know. My husband's pizza looked wonderful. He appeared to enjoy it. I'll let him write his own review. I would definitely revisit if ever in Lido di Ostia again. There were so many great options on the menu with affordable prices. It appears to be a popular restaurant. There weren't many seats left indoor or outdoor as we were leaving. The cooler weather in the month of May was perfect. It was a beautiful day!

Called to make reservations and even though they open for dinner at 7, I was told to come at 7:30. We arrived a little earlier and they let us sit and we got to enjoy the nice view, though the tables closest to the windows were reserved (which the folks didn't show up til past 9 PM!). Our waiter was so friendly and nice, and we got to order a variety of food. Had the oysters, grilled veggie platter, green salad, and octopus salad (did not see it on the menu but waiter brought this out for us). Even the bread basket was tasty, best we had on the whole week long trip! Kind of funny as we saw lots of their staff smoking in the kitchen.... Knowing it was a seafood known restaurant, I decided to order the shrimp scampi though my heart really wanted the bucatini with tomato sauce and pancetta. When it came out, I was really skeptical. First off, way too much ginger and took that all off. The shrimp were nicely cut, easy to take out. The pasta was in this weird ginger, lemon and butter sauce....and the noodles were perfectly al dente....and I didn't realize...in my 8 days, it was the first time I killed the entire pasta. Going to have to try this weird concoction at home sometime. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes, but I would say their dessert you can pass...I love panna cotta and though it wasn't on the menu...we ordered one. It had a chocolate licorice topping.......and I did not care for it at all! When we got our bill, it was all wrong. They added another table's tab to ours! Had to get that fixed and the waiter was super apologetic. Always check your bill!

My father was a foodie before it became known as it is now and was addicted to excepcional food and would discuss worthy restaurants with his colleagues at ENI. He knew the owners well and always inspected the kitchen and we were always embarressed as a family but my father was hardcore. I was just there 4 nights ago for the 1st time in 35 years and it was absolutely phenomenal. I'm a personal chef in Palm Beach FL and specialize in Italian and I'm able to "almost replicate" it's cuisine as I lived there for 28 years. Honest to God, you will love this restaurant and thank me later. I brought my mom with us and she's also been back in the States for many years and they remembered her immediately. Ofcourse I couldn't have been happier but that says a lot for a restaurant. We ordered just about everything we had missed this establishment. You really cannot go wrong with anything on the menú but these are my favorites. Insalata frutti di Mares, spaghetti alle vongole, calamari fritti, and #1 Risotto agli Scampi, an absolute must eat. Enjoy
