After 5 years of working out at home, I'm back at the gym. I forgot how much I really enjoy in person classes. This location is right by my office on Palmetto Park Road just west of Powerline, so it's so convenient and there's always plenty of parking. I was a member here for years pre-Covid. There was always a 4:30 class whether it was yoga, cycling, or sculpting. One of the reasons I hesitated about coming back was that they trimmed the class schedule and there are no more 4:30 classes. I find myself going in the morning which is a totally different crowd. The classes and the instructors are good. It takes a lot to keep 20+ people engaged for over an hour. It's not an easy and I give them a lot of credit. The gym is big, and they keep it clean. So far it's fun to be back. read more

Only went into this location twice and every single time I went to the desk to check in this women with glasses had to call me back to say an issue. She stated I had to pay $100 just to use that gym for the day. Staff is completely rude and snobby, Machines are run down and old. This is the worst LA Fitness location I have ever been to. As membership fees rise, conditions at the gym go bad to worse. The broken front door is extremely unwelcoming. Note, it illustrates the extremely slow process in which anything is repaired. At least 5 treadmills are out of order dally. Televisions rarely work. Equipment and weight machines are out of order, making the line to use them time ineffective. Weights are ALL over the gym, never pit away properly. LA Fitness no longer offers the variety of classes it did pre pandemic. This LA Fitness is a sorry example of a gym. This club is still fairly new so most of the equipment is still in decent shape. The staff is friendly enough and the bathrooms are fairly clean. I am giving a lower ranking because they have 3 water fountains that have been out of service for 3 weeks. Really? Unacceptable. Sorry but people need water. Last week all of the stair masters except one were out of service too. As a general statement, LA Fitness is decent but their major weakness is maintaining equipment. It's a good gym and they have all the equipment you need. Facilities are clean and the members seem to actually re-rack there weights here. Would give it 5 stars except two big misses. First, the weights are all too heavy! I mean they are actually heavier than they say. At the La Fitness in Columbus Ohio I could bench press 115 for 8 reps. Here I could only do it for 4 reps. Thats some BS. Just measure the weights better. The second miss we're the bathrooms. I know they can't be cleaned every 10 min, but how hard is it to check the toilets every once in a while? People have clearly been eating too much protein powder here because the place smelled like a Taco Bell dumpster. Again, great facilities but just need a couple of fixes read more

This is all my opinion. Due your own due diligence. Unfortunately this LA Fitness is sub par in my opinion. 1- the machines are not constantly cleaned. 2- there are not enough connectors for the cable machines. The ones they do have are kept by members, thereby preventing other members from using the cables until the members holding the connectors put them back. 3- there are rips and tears on the benches. This is a breading ground for disease. 4- the staff aren't walking around and that is why number three occurs. 5- none of the members put the weights back. Overall bad experience. Luckily I was in on three day check it out free pass. Hopefully, they will read this and fix the issues. I did not want to give such a poor review. I'm hoping it gets better. I would like to become a member. For now, I'll stick to low price and no frills YouFit. I don't expect a lot from YouFit and I get what I pay for. read more

Man this is a newer gym and it's not being taken care off at all. The restrooms need some real TLC. They have sewer flys all over the walls in the showers and the ceiling. Have the lights are out and have been for months now. Being in Boca I would think management would be on top of this but are obviously not. read more

Came back from a cruise and was eager to jump on some Hammer Machines. My friend told me a brand new LA Fitness just opened up in Boca Raton. My first thought is geez this would be the 3rd LAF in Boca. The main thing that sticks out to me is the massive size of this location. I would say it is about 2x the size as Coconut Creek & 3x the size of the Coral Springs location. Equipment is spaced out very well, friendly staff and it's a clean establishment. Should they show a habit of regularly restocking weights and up keeping equipment after a break or malfunction I'll move this up to 5 stars for sure. Overall a MUST to visit if you're reasonably close to the location. Amazing and giant LA Fitness. read more

Ok I usually do not write poor reviews but this is quite literally one of the worst gyms ive been to in terms if strength training a long time, like I wouldn't even go for free (I actually didn't go for free as I had a three day free trial and only used one day ahahaha). As for cardio machines there's probably enough to fit the entire city of Boca if they wanted to, so you shouldn't have trouble getting your run on, however as for strength equipment, there's 2 squat racks, 5 smith machines (why??) and 3 flat benches for bench press; everything else there is one of each. The DB section is quite large but it was SO disorganized I could not find a single dumbbell pairing. This gym is also very over crowded and I went at 10am on a weekday which should not have been prime time. Overall this gym will not meet your lifting needs if you require a lot of BB and machine movements as there is just no shot you will find the machine you want open unless you're hovering (and no one likes to hover). The manager took three steps with me as a way of "showing me around" and asked if I wanted to set up my membership BEFORE i even utilized my first free day (I just walked in). The bathrooms/dressing rooms were nice and clean. I just think this gym is behind the curve with some if the less commercialized gyms in boca, but even YouFit has a functional area and bumper plates so i dont know- not for me subjectively but also objectively chaotic and overcrowded read more

This is one terrific fitness center. I guess you could call me a snowbird--I spend a few months in the Boca area each winter and despite the fact that I am only a seasonal member, I am treated well by everyone. Jeff, the manager who seems to be everywhere at once, sets the tone for the entire staff. Make no mistake, this is a serious gym with men and women that know how to work out and enjoy it. The gym is always spotless and despite the fact that it is very busy, there is tons ( intended) of equipment for everyone to share. I cannot wait to return next winter--great facility. read more

This is probably the single worst LA fitness I have ever stepped foot into. I have been to over 10 separate different locations, most of which are clean and up to standards. This one, unfortunately is not. Weights are not where they belong (I.e 10s in 100s, 50s in 25s), none in order, and unfortunately most have been scattered on the floor. Individual weighted barbells are never found on racks and make their usual home in one of the corners. I think the worst part about it, is that I mentioned it to the staff multiple times, they claimed they were meeting about it (a week later) and have yet to do anything. This is easily the most unorganized and dysfunctional LA Fitness in south Florida. I give this a 2/5 only because the manager I spoke with, while new, still was very polite and seemed to try and sympathize. Unfortunately nothing was done. read more

Julianne T gives an accurate review of this new facility. After being a Youfit member for many years this is quite an upgrade. I only have 2 complaints and one has nothing to do with the gym itself. There are so many free weights but many people don't put the dumbbells back in the correct space when they are done. Pretty simple it seems to me. If the rack is marked 25 lbs that is where you should return the 25lbs dumbbells. The result is that you waste time looking for the correct dumbbells. The other minor flaw involves the gym itself. I exercise in the early morning. On several occasions trash cans are overflowing with paper towels and weights have not been put away. Seems to me this should be done every evening after they close. Other than these two items I am a very happy camper. read more

DO TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE KIDS CLUB! ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE STILL A BABY!! Upon signing up with the manager Jeff and even calling prior and talking to a staff member named Matthew prior to going to this location I asked what exactly I needed to bring for my child seeing how he's not yet fully crawling.. (he's 8.5 months).. They said nothing was needed.. Not a chair or anything.. Luckily I'm always prepared because as soon as I walked in the lady (Elizabeth) tonight asked me if I had something to put him in like a stroller or anything because she can't hold him or anything.. I swung by after my cardio and before the machines and she gave my thumbs up.. Yet when I came back she was in over her head.. There were 10 older kids hovering my poor Giovanni while he was screaming.. Of course she had told me "he just started" but then had the audacity to tell me he cried earlier and she asked another CHILD for help! Like what?!?! You asked a four-year-old to help you with my infant? Then she had the nerve to tell me that this was not a good time to come and to come in the morning.. Mind you their hours are only 9-12 and 5-8.. and I work! Needless to say I caused a huge scene upon leaving and she denied everything to mine and the manager's face.. and speaking of manager he was no better.. Mid mommy attack he was more focused on signing a birthday card for one of his employees than listening to the rest of what I had to say.. which made me flip out even more! I will not be bringing myself or my child to that location (Palmetto and Powerline) ever again even if someone else replaces her.. She had my life in her hands.. and she's lucky I didn't take hers tonight.. Calling corporate in the morning!! read more

Club has nice lay out and like where it is located. Evening staff is a disappointment though. Sort of expected with kids but some leadership coaching would be advised. Would be hard to believe that this would be acceptable if known of. I'll provide benefit of the doubt with it simply not being known and do my best to provide a little awareness. Night Staff should be re-racking weights instead of hanging out at front desk. As a former club and district manager, seeing the lack of productivity of staff on the clock when so much is needed around the club is difficult to witness on a regular basis. Dumbbells are never organized in correct places and are also scattered all across facility once evening comes. For someone trying to get a quick workout in at end of a long day, bit frustrating having to go on an Easter egg hunt each night trying to hunt down the missing matches and everything out of place always while club staff is hanging out at front. They're so eager to yell across the club right at 9:59 CLUB IS CLOSED but have little care for anything else up until that point. Disorganization is the norm here. Why even bother having numbered dumbell racks? Bathrooms are also not kept up with regarding toiletries. Could also use an intercom system so that the front desk staff doesn't have to yell across the facility when it's nearing closing time, not that this should be acceptable anyway as its highly unprofessional. Considering how high end of a location as this is, lack of professionalism is a bit disappointing. read more

Great New Facility located in Boca Raton! Waited too long for the opening of this location. Definitely worth the wait. State of the Art Facility. New equipment in every department! Single story . So many choices for Cardio. But don't sign me up. JK. LOL. Stairmaster, Treadmill, Elliptical, Rowing and Seated Bikes. Weights and Machines everywhere! I love that since thus location is new, everything is organized and clean. Hopefully it stays that way. There is an Aerobics room for your workouts and classes scheduled. There is also a pool somewhere. I have yet to venture out that way. Private space for Personal Training! (Must sign up with the PTs) My TWO Favorite things about this location - 1. Spin Room - Huge studio! The Spin bikes in all LA Fitness locations are by far my favorite. The sleek look and the performance of these spin bikes are absolutely to die for! I want one. 2. Basketball Cout - I was here when this location opened up. I would like to think I was the first to get shots up. LOL. If you see me, lets have a shoot out! Love this gym. read more

Like any commercial gym (specifically LA FITNESS) you can expect the dumbbells are a scavenger hunt and the millennial crowd texts on the equipment for 5-10 minute high intensity intervals. Lol. That said, this specific location is kept very sanitary. It is well cared for by the housekeeping staff. I am not fearful of contracting MRSA like some of the other locations (which is a member demographic issue not a staff issue per se, because it's member responsibility to wipe things down when finished). The equipment leaves a little to be desired for leg day but otherwise is a great club. Haven't tried the kids club yet but they are usually pretty same each la fitness. My kid is older and doesn't need much attention. read more

The trainers in this location are extremely disrespectful to the point where I had to go to management and speak to them. The GM laughed in my face and did nothing they are completely aware of the situation. Read other yelpers reviews I'm not the only one that's been harassed for coming to work out here. I pay good money for my membership there's no reason for the trainers to be harassing members... I have asked several times for the Management's contact information and I have even called the 800 number for LA fitness and made a formal complaint as the aggressive trainers kept harassing both my wife and I....Nothing has been done. read more

This location is a pretty good location. It's brand new, so it is very clean. I'm eager to see if it maintains its cleanliness because Coconut Creek, Deerfield and Coconut Creek aren't the best at that. This is a huge location I would say twice the size of Creek. There is no upstairs level, so it's all on the same floor. They have a good class schedule. I took the Sunday, 12pm yoga class. The instructor was pretty good and the class was challenging enough. I did cardio, I love the new treadmills. This location lost 1 star for two reasons. This is a Brand New Location and had NO SAUNA and NO SMOOTHIE location. I get not having the smoothie place if they see it doesn't make enough money, but what is the reason for no Sauna??? But I'll be back for Cardio and Lifting!!! read more

She seemed very out of breath and not really motivated. Supposedly, the club is open half the regular hours because "employees have to disinfect the club" for Covid 19. What a joke. LA Fitness is taking your money and giving you half what you are entitled to. LA Fitness could care less if you are sick or note, there are Zero temperature checks, which other gyms are requiring, and hardly anyone is wearing a mask and LA Fitness could care less about it. Instead of getting a better body, you are more likely to get Coronavirus, and LA Fitness is happy to swindle your money by being open half the normal hours under the guise of keeping the club clean. Gym is fine. It's the staff that is not good. The salespeople are the c team of sales. They don't know what the promotions are and never give accurate information. I would give a ZERO but I can't. After the pandemic I decided to go to this gym because somebody I knew went there and my other gym was too crowded. I didn't like it from the start, it's got a weird vibe, and The trainers chase you all around the gym all the time, not for me. I'm 47 years old mother of two who's been working out my entire life. I don't need some teenager 20 something-year-old trainer wanna be constantly following me around the gym. Apparently "IM GOOD THANKS" doesnt work, they continue following the next day and the next . After deciding shortly after going there I didn't want to continue my membership I asked how to cancel it. I was told I had to come in person and cancel it, so my next visit I went to the front desk and canceled it in person. I was told everything was all set and taken care of. Well, it was not done correctly, they continued to charge me. They charged me for 10 more months, and would only credit back three months, even though it was their mistake and I did everything right. They committed fraud, stole the money out of my account, downright dirty business. Horrible corporate customer service! Such a disappointment for a large corporation taking money from a hard working person instead of holding their incompetent employee accountable. Never again will I go to LA fitness!!!! Great location. It's very clean. The staff at the front is very friendly & fast with check-in. I took the 9:15 spin class with Pilar B. It was my first time taking her class & she was great! She welcomed all the new faces & helped me set up my bike. I highly recommend her class & I will definitely be returning to this location. read more

Horrible service from the personal training leadership team. The process of getting signed up and being ethical, is NOT there!!! When you get signed up to train they do not disclose all the information and do not care if you're unhappy or not. It's all a number game to them, and you're just another person joining that gym.
