After my workout today I've decided to make a formal complaint to HR via email. The complaint is to the operations manager I think his name is Chris. He is the African American man who wears a white long sleeve at the La Fitness in Fontana Ca.  The incident occurred 08/07/2026 at 1:40 pm. I was taking a selfie on my smart phone after exercising on the stationary bike. While I was adjusting to take a picture of myself.  Chris approached me and said  "there are women behind you can't do that" as if he assumed I was taking a picture of them in the background. The problem is he was assuming and in reality I was adjusting to take a single solo shot without anyone in the background. I felt offended and this not my character of who I am. No selfie picture was taken because I was still adjusting. How would you feel if you were approached and warned and you did nothing wrong. I am a Military Veteran with class and honor and I am respectful to everyone. For this person to assume I was taking inappropriate pictures is wrong. I felt disrespected and I am shock. Martin's customer service was extremely unprofessional. From the moment I asked a simple question about my account, he had a rude, dismissive attitude instead of trying to help. What concerned me most was that he discussed my membership information loudly enough for other members to hear, even after I expressed that it should be kept private. No member should have their account information discussed publicly. Throughout the interaction, he laughed, smirked, and acted as though my concerns were a joke. As a manager, I expect professionalism, respect, and leadership. Instead, I felt embarrassed, disrespected, and like my time didn't matter. A manager represents the entire club, and based on my experience, Martin did not demonstrate the level of customer service or professionalism that members deserve. I hope LA Fitness addresses this behavior seriously. read more

Been coming here for years and my kids have been in the kids club for over 2-3 years ages are 7&9 and they love coming but this week 7/8/26 we had a bad experience. Started where they wouldn't let my kids play in certain areas my kids are not wild they are respectful and KIND they were told you can't play there or here is heartbroken for the child. 2nd issue is since when do they have a 2 hour limit out of all they years they never mentioned that or even tell parents anything of that. Then rude about why not picking up phone while in shower is wild. We will be canceling membership for this experience and going to another gym. Why charge and then blame parents there is to many kids they only open between 8am-12pm so yes parents take advantage of help if they offered to charge. read more

As a member since 2019, I can confidently say that since Janser started working here, there has been a noticeable improvement in the cleanliness of the gym and the overall environment. The facility is consistently clean, organized, and welcoming. Janser clearly takes pride in his work--his attention to detail, positive attitude, and genuine care truly stand out. Been going to this location for almost 2 years now. Most equipment is very outdated and always needing work. Most benches off centered, treadmills barely working as well as the stair masters, few options of kettle bells, not enough floor mats, just over all needs a lot of work. It feels like the only thing this place has going for them is the light foot traffic, the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Definitely a gym more meant for seniors. read more

One of the best gyms in the area. I've tried 24hr nearby but moved to la fitness after they wouldn't address the houseless living in the locker room. La fitness has a more mature and respectful crowd. The cleaners here actually clean very well and you can see them clean the entire gym up to 3x in 2 hrs. read more

La Fitness Fontana is a very nice gym. When I say very nice, I mean, I arrived around 830am and it was not crowded at all. I took advantage of the weight room and pool, I was able to use all the equipment I wanted without having to wait. This gym has 4 racquet ball courts, a basketball court, cycling, multipurpose fitness room, sauna, pool and jacuzzi. The whole time I was there the crowd was quite small and the pool had only 2 other people. Consider joining if you are thinking about it. 2nd visit a week later arrived on a Thursday around 750am. It was a bit busy but it did not feel overwhelming. I am very surprised that this gym does not offer many classes during the week unlike other gyms. Ok so... I am comparing this to the Upland location and I have to say I prefer the Fontana one because I was able to use whatever equipment I wanted without the crowds or classes. The shower pressure was ok but I do like that they have paper towels on site and always filled sanitizing wipes! Missign a star - Shower pressure and Jaccuzi looked unsanitary Time for a PSA - Please be considerate of others around you. Wearing dirty gym clothes or thinking it is ok to not shower for days and come to the gym, is gross (YOU STINK, Yes you!, I am talking to you bruh). Sanitize the equipment you use, especially after and be mindful of those who want to use the machine after you, re-rack your Sh%t. I absolutely hate carrying 5 stacks of 45lbs because lazy bro's/gal's can't do it themselves but are ok adding it on, how does this make sense? read more

Extremely Disappointed - False Promises and Poor Management I joined LA Fitness Fontana about a year ago and initially had a great impression. The manager, James, was very friendly and convincing, which led me to sign up for the expensive training program. He took my weight, BMI, and measurements, and everything seemed like a good start. However, after that, things went downhill. James promised regular 3-month check-ins for weight and BMI, but he was never available. Every time I called to resolve issues, I was either put on hold or told he was too busy. He also promised me a one-hour session to introduce me to the machines outside of training, but that never happened. Whenever I tried to schedule it, he was "too busy." I even saw him at the gym sometimes, but he would avoid me. I feel completely let down. I paid for services that were never delivered. James made big promises but didn't follow through on any of them. Because of this experience, I canceled my membership. Worst management ever - avoid this location if you expect honesty and accountability. read more

Decent gym and I appreciate that staff walk around and sanitize machines. However, in recent months gym has become crowded. Also, staff needs to address females setting up tripods or phones and recording in the gym. This is completely inappropriate. I have been going to this gym for a while now, the workers always smile and say "Heyyy" when they see me and are so kind when I'm checking in and so patient. One worker, she works for NrGize Juice Bar, always wears a ponytail and her uniform. however hasn't always been the kindest and I've tried to ignore it and think maybe she was having a bad day, but I was in the restroom washing my hands and I noticed she was looking at me weird while I was washing my hands like a normal person, and it just bothered me so much but I didn't say anything so I looked at her once and she said "is there a problem?" In a rude tone. It bothered me so much to the point where I needed to write this review, and it's not just me but others that I've talked to have said the same thing about her. The weights are never in the right place, and the setup makes it really hard to work out. The benches are way too close to the weight racks, so you can't even grab dumbbells unless you're sitting right in front of them. The floors smell bad, and I've never seen anyone cleaning the mats or organizing the weights. Overall, the gym just isn't well kept, and many people here don't seem to have basic gym etiquette. read more

The poison pen has now been selected out of my inventory to express my discontent with this BLASPHEMOUS renovation. The I.E. Fit Basketball League has been demolished right before my very eyes. These were sacred grounds. God is looking down at you all who have made this selfish decision with sad eyes. You stinky personal trainers could've stuck to the common area but NO. I like this gym because it's never too too packed like other gyms BUT my only complaint is that the back extension machine is in SUCH an awkward spot. Ass in the air right in the middle for everyone to see. They need to move it to a next wall like every single other gym rather than right in the middle center for everyone to see my ass tooted up. Been coming to this gym for over 8 years now. Nothing special just the closest one. Hopefully the management sees this but I came Sunday night the 7th and noticed two employees one at the front desk ( a woman ) and one in the locker room cleaning up ( older gentleman). By far the nicest, hard working, attentive staff I've ever had interacted with. Front desk woman is always extremely friendly and welcoming. And the gentleman in the locker has to be one of the hardest workers, I've never seen a gym restroom as clean as this before. Great equipment, staff seems nice. My only pet peeves are that the cleaning crew are cleaning (sweeping, vacuuming, moping etc) while people are walking into the dirt and wet floors. I've been coming here for 2 years in August. I found the BEST Zumba Instructor Tynaiah on Monday's at 5:45. If she ever leaves I'll cancel my membership. She makes everyone feel welcome and is very personable. She teaches a variety of dance styles which is nice, so there's something for everyone. I look forward to it every week. La fitness Fontana is by far one of the nicer and newer gyms in the area. The workout area is huge and has all the machines and weights that you'll ever need. The downside of this place is that they closed the basketball courts permanently without consulting its members. Some people signed up for its basketball court and they just suddenly closed it without any prior notice. When asked why, they said that they are remodeling the area to be another training area. But they already have a huge training area in the middle of the gym. Whoever made this horrible decision at corporate should be fired asap. read more

Almost all of the treadmills do not work properly. They are very old and should have been replaced years ago. Members should also be allowed to use the personal training area since it's never used by the trainers themselves. Restrooms need to be remodeled as well. Very old and smell bad most of the time. Hopefully this gym can make some improvements soon read more

Please stop replacing Matrix equipment with crappy Hoist equipment. We have some equipment out of all the LA fitness gyms in the area. We lost 3 amazing pieces of equipment that were staples in most members routines. Now they have been replaced with sub par, mediocre, ineffective hoist. Give us more matrix and Hammer equipment. read more
