Worst experience with a fitness facility - EVER. I must say the gym is immaculately clean as are the locker rooms. However, the staff is inept as are the personal trainers. No one is ever around to answer your questions. The facility is not friendly to the physically challenged. Parking is horrible. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. If you're looking for a serious personal trainer, go elsewhere. read more

Been a member here for a year now and the facility is great and the staff are friendly. It is clean and not a problem getting a machine. I would rate it 5 stars but the fitness department is sub par. Although my personal trainer was excellent the company policies are poor. I was not given what was promised in my package that I bought and when I did get it taken care of thanks to my trainer, the company wanted to charge me another sign up fee of $149.00 to buy another package. I've been a member here a long time and enjoy my membership and the club is a pretty club,but i don't like the attitudes of some of the friday night staff when it's coming close to closing. People are humans with feelings and it's okay to be out a few minutes after you close. Take a chill pill. I meet enough people in life with crappy attitudes,it's hard enough dealing with some people in this area,and than i see it at a place that's supposed to make you happy. Recently cancelled membership after 6yrs at this location. I had to cancel a training session for an emergency procedure at time of club opening. Spoke with front desk girl about cancellation & asked them to notify trainer of situation at 5am at opening of club. My next scheduled training session I was notified that they charged me with missed appointment even after notifying club of emergency. Both trainer & club manager would not issue a credit. I contacted corporate of situation & they contacted club manager to credit account. On my last training session the trainer said they couldn't approve crediting back session because me having an emergency surgery (bone marrow donor) was not a good enough excuse or reason to miss the appointment. For this, their lack of concern, consideration & doing the right thing I cancelled both mine & my wife's membership. I will never be back & I was s long time member. Club manager & staff at this location is extremely difficult to speak & deal with. Lastly, this is 2014 & this club doesn't offer wifi. read more

Don't buy a membership for the basketball. I bought my son a membership because several of his friends have memberships. They all play basketball on teams at school so they know what they are doing. However, since they are only 14 years old the other players won't let them play. My son and his friends had to go there during the early afternoon when the courts were empty, but when the older people show up in the late afternoon they completely take over the court and refuse to give the kids a turn. I spoke to the manager and she informed me that there is nothing they can do about what happens on the courts. It's up to the players. I told her that the kids pay their dues and are being bullied by the adults and that wouldn't it be simple to just put up a chalkboard or a piece of PAPER so everyone could write their names down and take their turn in order? She said they couldn't do something like that because it's known that there are no RULES in the basketball court. I cancelled the membership right then of course because apparently the MANAGEMENT AGREES WITH BULLYING. read more

La fitness Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They bought Bally Total fitness Fairview and all their ghetto members came with it. There is no parking, it's super crowded, and all the good cardio classes are full. I'm canceling my membership! read more

I have to say coming from crunch customer service here is excellent!!! Not only that Whitney - personal trainer I train with is great! I have never been so motivated to lose weight as much with her.. She motivates me and giving up is not an option! I would recommend her to anyone.. Also, I am always greeted and asked by staff how was my workout.. That just proves that they care... If I could give this place no stars I would. I moved to Gresham and got a membership there its by far the worst gym I've ever been too. I like to play basketball and the courts always closed down. The floor was warped so they closed down the court. Took forever to fix it then a backboard broke and they closed it again and took forever to fix it. For the year I was a member there the court was probably only open 4 months at the most. Basically lots of stuff broken there and it takes forever for them to fix it. They also have an older guy must be a manager that just walks around the gym creeping on girls and wont harasses you nonstop about getting personal training. I agreed to do a free training session. Came to the conclusion I know more about lifting then the trainer they assigned me did. Then when I didn't want to sign up for a year contract worth of training they called me repetitively trying to get me to sign up no matter how many times I told them I wasn't interested. Basically not worth the 30 a month they charge don't waste your time and money there. Also its really busy at night so if you work out at night its definitely not worth it cuz its way overcrowded. read more

I came in to join and told them I needed to pay cash monthly... the salesman took first and last months IN CASH and then said just to pay with a pre-paid VISA each month... So the second month I did... and the front person looked at her computer screen and OKed the transaction... the very next day when I went in, I was told I hadn't paid and was in arrears and couldn't come in till I was caught up... Seems that the general manager knew that the system couldn't take anything but a "real" charge card or debit or automatic withdrawal and totally called me a liar that I HAD paid cash and was TOLD to use the prepaid VISA by the salesman. I had to leave and get a lawyer to come back with me and all they would do is make me pay yet ANOTHER month..because "there was no proof I paid.." and then I left to never come back... YES they are cheap... like cheap liars, cheap skates, cheap facilities, which I found in the women's locker room dirty the month I actually went... read more

I was hesitant to even give this place the one star, but it wouldn't let me give zero. Customer service has taken a HUGE step in the wrong direction since February. They changed management in the club and things have gone down fast! No more personal feel, no more help with anything I needed, this place has turned in to just a gym again. And not even a very clean one at that. Locker rooms are awful! I feel like the one person, Megan, who kept me at that gym, is the only thing that was holding that place together. She made me feel at home, as well as all of my friends there. She is MISSED!! The new member service manager is cold hearted at best . BOO LA Fitness just cast her aside, and that tells me ALOT. The gym is clean and the equipment is updated. I enjoy my work outs there. I was approached by a trainer to sign up for training. I did. I shortly after had my hours were cut at work and asked if I could have my training sessions froze for a few months. I was told NO. It was against our policy. Now mind you I was not cancelling my gym membership, I was just wanting to put my training sessions on hold for maybe 2 months. They would not even consider it. To top that off they changed the date it came out of my account! The funds were withdrawn early and caused other things to not clear! read more

The place has declined in the last several years. More shady characters coming in now. The staff needs to print rules on the contracts and on signs in the weight areas in Russian, Ukrainian and the likes. Those demographics seem to have a real problem putting weights back. Very lazy behavior and unappreciated by other members especially short ladies that need to strip the plates sometimes above our heads. Thats also quite dangerous. read more

Terrible customer service! The staff here treat you like dirt, I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and had to cancel my membership due to my relocation to an area without an la fitness and they will harass you and treat you like crap. The staff here will give you the run around making you go through hoops and to hell and back to get a straight answer. If you ever have a problem with a staff member make sure you get their name and take it up with BetterBusinessBureau even then when they get confronted by their manager they will lie their face off and dont claim ownership of their actions and attitude. Also if you want to cancel their membership make sure you do it a month ahead of the time you want to end the membership. Trust me this poor customer service is enough to make anyone want to avoid this gym. read more

We left Crunch due to over crowding & we wanted a pool option. We signed up here with Dave (previous manager) and was told the pool was the cleanest on the Eastside - wrong! The pool is filthy, there's always gobs of hair along the edges, I've cut my toe on something in the pool (management was nice enough to offer a band aid). The showers are just as unsanitary. The classes can be crowded, the staff is not friendly (the staff at Crunch were always friendly). My husband already cancelled his membership as he always has to wait for a bench to workout (which is why he left crunch as well). Dave, the previous manager said waiting for a bench would never happen. We were excited to join this gym in the beginning and now I'm ready to cancel. There is one personal trainer that talks & talks (some personal) with his clients through work outs and I always have to move somewhere else. Yep - I'm done! read more

I've been a member of this club for about a year and a half now. On the surface it is mostly positive. However I've recently been experiencing the downside. Apparently the employees (at least some) of this club do not care enough to just be straight up and honest. I went in to put my personal training account on hold and was helped by a front desk employee who said okay it's done, and handed me a print out of the freeze. A few days later I get billed for the personal training. It was then explained to me after the fact that while I went in 3 days ahead of the billing, I needed to do it at least five days prior to billing. Why did the man at the front desk not inform me that I was too late to put that next cycle on hold but he'd be happy to put the next month on hold for me (which is what he had done without telling me). The person I had to deal with was NOT nice or sympathetic or acted like he cared AT ALL. He finally submitted a claim to corporate on my behalf as he didn't have the power to do a refund anyways but he did so and told me that they probably wouldn't give me my money back anyways (well they did). I was very, very disappointed with the way I was treated. I expected an "I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding" at the very least and instead I was met with "Well it isn't the front desk person's job to tell you that you didn't come in in time." It may not be in their job description but I'd expect it as a common courtesy. Unfortunately, the same thing happened to me again just this month. I had been informed (when I explicitly asked) that when my training membership was fulfilled I would simply pay for training appts if I wanted a training appt. Well October was my last month in the agreement so I expected no billing for November. Guess what happened? I was billed. I went into to speak to the same rude manager as I'd dealt with before and now the story is oh no, I had needed to come in to cancel it if I wanted no further billing. But he would cancel my account and submit to corporate for a refund. Great *rolls eyes* I checked back one week later, per his request (even though the last time it took less than 48 hours, but whatever). No one had even looked at the account at that point he said. He says check back in another week (due to the short work week with the Thanksgiving weekend). I come back 7 days later again and he says "Hmm, nothing's been done yet. Let me send another note..." I finally decide to take matters into my own hands and call the corporate office myself the next day. I spoke to a very nice lady who told me that my refund request that was JUST submitted the day before (so NOT 2 weeks ago when I went in the first time, or even a WEEK ago when I went in a second time!!!) was half way through with processing. I have not informed any management at the club or corporate yet but my cancellation forms are printed up and will be dropped in the mail and I've already joined a new club. I will not continue to support a club whose employees cannot just be straight with me about what I need to do when I ask a question. Not to mention I was explicitly lied to by the same person 3 times! Not acceptable in my book. Most all staff is very friendly and we love the pool. Club does get very crowded though as they took on a lot by taking on the Bally's members when they closed the Fairview club and parking can be a nightmare. read more
