Different locations do have quite different environments and equipment. I went Mount Laurel and Parsippany, obviously the former one has much better condition of equipment and even larger lockers, cleaner shower room, more young people instead of seniors long time occupying shower room and locks room. Some seniors even dry their towels and shirt, shorts in sauna room and that is not really good. My friends told me some older lady even steal shampoo and pump into their own bottle, that really sucks. Hope a change is happening there. read more

Ladies be aware ! This place is not safe for women. Manager Joseph Reed is absolutely helpless. I had a terrible experience at the swimming pool today and the manager Joseph Reed did absolutely nothing about it. I had to leave the pool because of the harassment and inappropriate behavior of the male member in the swimming pool. I immediately complained to the front desk and spoke with the manager. Oh, how the "mighty" have fallen. This used to be my go to gym but there is a good reason why I don't frequent this gym anymore. The cardio equipment upstairs is in failing condition. There are missing foot petal straps, and over half the exercise bicycles no longer have working TV monitors. I do use the machines on the first floor but I usually visit another gym because these machines are too close together and I don't get enough social distancing when working out here. At least the other LA Fitness in the area has their machines spread out. I feel safer working out at the other gym. read more

Since Philly gyms closed, Marlton has absorbed the membership of what looks like hundreds of Philly customers! LA Fitness has no system, or capacity, to keep its members safely receiving service. As a 6 days a week user, I was horrified to find myself at 5am, in a huge crowd of people vying for a bench! There is one employee on staff before 9am, she has to check members in, enforce the mask mandate, answer the phones, etc. shameful that a large franchise like this doesn't care about its employees or members! For three days the crowd grew, so I left. Besides LA Fitness double payment on my credit card, and other egregious billing practices, it took potential exposure to a world-wide Illness to get me to leave. Worst. Gym. Ever! read more

SCAM ALERT! I called and spoke to Steve and he gave me all of the pricing over the phone. I confirmed three times and wrote it down and triple checked - $75 start up fee- one time - no annual fee and 39 a month......Went in for my trial to find out there is a Annual Fee! He FLAT OUT lied to me. He explained the 75 fee was a one time fee- and never mentioned the 59.00 annual fee - even when I asked. He also failed to mention that they first and LAST months fee upfront. He said he emailed me the pricing when he DID NOT. He lied straight to my face. I asked him to show me the email he sent and he couldn't. He just stared at me. He never sent the email! I do NOT appreciate being lied to and will NOT be joining. During my tour, we checked out the treadmills it smelled so awful-. The mirrors in the fitness classroom and the acoustics are horrendous. read more

I couldn't be happier that my new home has a brand new gym located so close. The main thing I wanted to get back into was a cycling class. They have morning classes Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Each instructor is different from the next so you can pick and choose your favorite. Being able to start my day off with a 5:45 am class is fantastic and the 9:15 class on Saturday is incredible. Two things I wish the gym did differently though for this studio is (1) should have tinted the windows and doors. Not a fan of someone standing by and just watching the class, which thankfully rarely ever happens. And (2) the lights and fans should be on different switches. You must have the blaring lights on to have the fans on. Dumb. Bearable but not the best idea. The bikes themselves are awesome, easy to read, with gears that are a breeze to change and follow. Maybe putting up a coat rack or something could also improve the space. There are plenty of bikes in the studio with good space in between them. I've also swung thru the locker room and its roomy, clean & includes a sauna. read more

This used to be a nice new location, but not anymore. For years, it was limited on crowd size with a generally nicer crowd, but when they reopened after they were abruptly closed down for about 8 months, suddenly they had an entirely different staff and atmosphere that certainly wasn't for the better. Since gyms reopened, I had tried about five other brands, including Esporta, which seemingly now owns the one in Cherry Hill and additional old LA Fitness locations. There is also Giant Fitness, Planet Fitness, and others that charge one third of the price, and then there is Lifetime, which is more expensive, but much better. All of them had better service, customer service, friendlier staff (which this location used to have years ago), and on top of all that, cheaper memberships. Esporta, the new apparent chain that has taken over many of the old LA Fitness locations, is palpably superior in customer service, staff, and it is cheaper at half of the monthly price with just as good, if not better, equipment. I don't know who is managing this particular location, but whoever it is has no idea what is going on in the fitness industry today, with so many selections that are just as good at $10 per month, $20 at most, while here they are charging about $40 a month plus yearly fees, but giving you inferior customer service with no better features or equipment. Some of their staff are completely unprofessional and come across as people you wouldn't trust. Some are okay, but some shouldn't be anywhere near this industry that is built on building rapport and respect for the customer. Have fun trying to cancel your membership, too, as they clearly try every underhand tactic they can to try to deride you from a pleasant cancellation now, which is also something that was never the case until recently. This gym looks like it has already begun heading downhill. Have fun if you go to the free weight area too with people smelling like pot, steroid freaks preening in the mirror and acting like they never left the five mile radius of their little dirty "joisey" small town in their entire life. read more

This is a new location so all the machines are working and they have water filing stations which is nice. The best time to come is during the day because it does get pretty hectic in the evening. It is not a large building so when it is busy, it is not the easiest to get around. I've had pleasant encounters with the staff members and the personal trainers. They're definitely more polite than the other locations that I have been to. read more

I paid for a personal trainer for 12 months and only received 2 sessions. The trainers quit, changed, and or were waiting for openings. LA fitness was no help. NEW LA FITNESS LOCATION IN SOUTH JERSEY? This LA Fitness opened up at the perfect time. In an area with various gyms to choose from.. and lots of new gyms opening, I'm so glad that LA Fitness opened up on route 73 in between Cherry Hill and Marlton area. I stopped in on the grand opening night and the first thing I noticed was how NEW everything was. The aroma in the air filled with "brand new". The resistance weight training machines work smoothly and the plates slide on the brand new barbells effortlessly. Not to mention how organized the dumbbells are. To sum it up, this is your typical LA Fitness. It has 4 benches, 1 power rack, 2 squat racks, 2 smith machines, a vast array of dumbbells with lots of space and benches to use! It has all the other perks if being a LA fitness member -- the pool, basketball court, racket ball courts, cycling room (with LOTS of bikes), and of curse the group fitness class room! Since it's grand opening, I have gone to this location a handful of times. It has never been packed to the point I have to wait for a machine, but I can see it becoming more crowded in the future. I'm looking forward to trying out the fitness classes when things become more organized here. I do wish LA Fitness had more of a variety of types of equipment (like the video interactive game machines at other gyms I have gone too or even a stimulation of rope climbing..) but I get that's a corporate topic. My son has been a member of LA Fitness for over 3 years and was unable to use the facility last year due to the global pandemic. He returned to the gym this evening only to find out that his membership at the Marlton club was terminated and was told he had to pay for a new membership. They charged him a $149.00 initiation fee, first and last dues of $53.98 plus tax for a total of $216.43. This is clearly a scam. His membership should never have been terminated due to the global pandemic. He should not have been charged $216.43 for a new membership especially when LA Fitness is advertising $0.00 initiation fees. I will be contacting LA Fitness Corporate Management to seek a remedy for their Marlton club's fraudulent membership recruitment practices. I strongly suggest you consider joining a gym with a staff members who are ethical and actually value their clients. read more

Really nice facility. This LA fitness is a bit further than the Mount Laurel location but it is worth the trip sometimes. Dumbbells go up to 100's, they have plenty of machines, weights, and a whole 2nd floor for cardio. In addition, there is a large mat area to do all kinds of floor work and a pool, but that doesn't interest me. Compared to Mount Laurel, this gym is much cleaner and in much better shape. read more

My husband overheard that I was looking for a gym that would be more conducive to my work schedule and signed me up for LA Fitness. As a new member, I was advised that I would receive an assessment with a trainer. Upon arrival, the trainer I was scheduled to meet was busy with another assessment so, the guy at the front desk (Jonah) said he would take care of me. He retrieved basic information from me regarding my goals and quickly took me onto the floor to gauge my strength levels. He started with predictable requests such as squats; push ups and plank. That's when he went into his "pitch" about how over weight I was and that I would never achieve my goals without a trainer, i.e., him. I expressed again that I had been out of the gym for almost a year and planned to start with spin classes three days a week and yoga or Pilates on the alternate days. He began to pressure me by reiterating the problem with my immediate goal; my style would not work; this is what he does; blah, blah, blah. I thanked him for his "concern" but stated that I wanted to first get back into the gym on a consistent basis and then look into getting a trainer later. Jonah said "Fine" and ended the assessment. Walking back towards his desk, he stated "Well, what did you think this was going to be?" Shocked by his lack of professionalism, I reminded him that I am new and this is my first day to this facility so, I did not know what to expect. At his desk, I then had to ask whether he would be continuing with the assessment; BMI; and information about the training program. Jonah gave me dollar amounts for the training program, but ended the assessment and never did my BMI. Finally, as he walked me to the door, I asked whether classes are busy in the evening and he said "I wouldn't know. That's not my area". So, unprofessional and money hungry. So this is your typical LA fitness. It opened pretty recently and when it first opened it was great.. not to crowded, plenty of space to workout, clean locker room, clean mats, etc. Since then it has gone down so much. It's SO crowded it's almost unbelievable. They just keep adding new members and not keeping in mind the crowdedness that will come when they keep accepting new members. There hasn't been a squat rack available without weights on it in god knows how long. Workers don't walk around and pick up weights. I've witnessed a physical fight here. The benches are starting to rip, the maps are so gross and dirty and the cleaners clearly don't clean them. I understand it's the members responsibility to wipe down the equipment when finished, but it's not enough to keep it clean throughout the day, it needs to be reinforced with extra cleaning. On top of that, weights are all over the place. Completely unorganized and a mess. More and more cable pieces are missing and I'm SURE staff won't replace them. I was walking to my car at 7pm on a Monday or Tuesday night and people were freaking out bc someone's car got broken into in the parking lot. There aren't kettle bells available for members and you can't use the TRX unless you have a "personal trainer." It's a joke. Think twice if you want to go here. You'd think bc it's in a nice area you would avoid to bull shit, but nope. read more

We love our LA Fitness. We've going a few times a week for almost 6 weeks now. We signed up for the personal training and it's been a wonderful experience. We train with Jonah. He's professional, fun, and knowledgeable. I am 6 months post rotator cuff surgery. He is aware of what my capabilities are currently in regards to my shoulder recovery and physical disability. He is very encouraging and trains my wife and I at the same time even though we are at completely different fitness levels. The staff we have interacted with (especially Kuseem and Jonah) have all been friendly and very positive. The equipment is great, the locker rooms are clean. The pool is great too. I haven't tried the sauna yet but I'm looking forward to it. The only down side is that I'm not crazy about the spin studio. I haven't taken a class yet but noticed the lights are always on and very bright. I do wish that they had a hip hop cardio class read more

Management essentially promised me a grand opening membership deal but never came through. Not joining-too high. Equipment is great. CLEANING is an issue. Dirt in all the pedals of the equipment, trash on the floor and the glass is dirty throughout. Otherwise, I like the gym. Horrible handling of covid-19 contracts. I have been getting charged $180 each month even though my account has been FROZEN due to a personal training contract. I explained that my husband was high-risk and that we could not come into the gym right now, but they were completely unsympathetic. They said that I could use my training credits when I am able to come back into the gym, but ONLY if I pay a $40 monthly fee on top of my monthly dues for the right to use credits that I would have already paid for. They are essentially double charging me even though my husband is high risk. I would have happily continued paying the $180 monthly fee if I wasn't told that I would have to keep paying $40/month to use it at a later time. But I cannot stand to be double charged due to a public health crisis. It is so unethical. It is no surprise that legislation is being proposed to deal with this exact situation. I plan to complain to my local government officials, the FTC, and to join any class action started on this front. I'll also be taking my luxury fees to a competitor. Bye LA Fitness. read more

Going here since PA gyms closed. Consistently see members, mostly guys, not wearing masks in weight areas for extended periods. I respectfully asked one guy today who I have seen on several occasions over last month not wearing a mask to please pull his up. He immediately got belligerent with me and in my face. I calmly explained that this is gym and state policy and that he needed to wear one like everyone else. If my husband had not been with me the guy probably would have gotten physical. Later on I noticed even more people not wearing masks, including this same guy. I asked the front desk if they could make a rounds and was told they're short handed. I suggested that if they had an intercom system they could periodically remind people to wear their masks or kindly leave. They said they'd talk to manager. When we left, a different front desk person was sitting there, maskless. This is a simple thing to do to help each other get through this. I don't blame the first young lady at the desk, but certainly management and members need to step up, or leave and work/workout somewhere else. read more

By far an amazing place to workout. Busy around 5:30-7pm, but what gym isn't? Staff are friendly and when I asked for a free pass for my son I was given literally no issues at all. Non-pushy sales team, in fact when I walked in originally I was certain I was going to get the sales pitch right from the door but it wasn't like that. I even mentioned I was ready to sign up again (former member) and the guy was still asking questions about my personal goals and stressed that he could help me if i needed. Even called me a few weeks after I had already joined and asked how things were going. I left the cheap $10 gym across the street and was 100% okay with that due to the service I've been given. Mike was always helpful and Bri is great when I have a question or concern about the tv channels. There's a new employee I haven't met yet but he appears to be cheerful from when I check in. From being a former member to another LA and joining this one I have to admit I like this one the best. Only recommendation if I had to give one is I wish there was a hot tub. Not a big deal since the pool is heated and I barely used it at the other but that's my only flaw. Overall I'm glad I'm back!! read more

I just joined and there is a lot to like. Brand new equipment is probably the biggest perk but I can't get past the fact that they only offer paper towels and hand sanitizer to wipe down the machines. They don't do anything close to a proper job AT ALL. It seems to be a formality rather than them actually taking care to make sure the equipment is clean. I think a big gym like this should really be able to offer something that does a sufficient job such as wet wipes like the $10/month gyms have. read more
