Today, I decided to try out the Voorhees location mainly due to the indoor track. I am training for a race and I don't like to run on treadmills or in poor weather. The "indoor track" has 2 narrow lanes for jogging and walking, yet most of the members seemed oblivious to this and I was dodging people who were not aware of their surroundings for most of the run. The track circles their cardio equipment, therefore you're just passing people staring at you run. I quickly realized the indoor track was not what I was looking for. But, I already knew I wouldn't sign up for the gym even before seeing the indoor track due to a comment the member specialist said while giving me a tour. As he is pointing out the equipment, he says "here is the incline chest press, but women don't need to use this unless they are body building." I'm sorry, sir, but as a 60 something year old man who opted to take the elevator instead of the stairs due to physical issues... how the hell do YOU know what women need? Are you a woman? Are you a trainer? Are you ME? No... that comment was unnecessary and I won't be back. Two stars because they do have top of the line equipment, as well as good amenities (sauna, pool). It was crowded, but it was also a Sunday.

It's not a fancy place but that doesn't really matter; you're hopefully there to work out and it's perfectly fine for most people who want to work out. One thing that should be pointed out is that they recently swapped some seemingly underused equipment out for half racks. Those look to be very popular (so kudos for meeting customer's needs) but also freed up the smith machines. This makes the gym more open and leaves more racks open at a time. [Further to the gym's credit, it was not too long ago that that bought two extra smith machines to meet demand] My only real issue, as in the past, is that there is not great etiquette among some gym users. Too many people occupy benches and equipment for long periods of time while just sitting on their phones. This happens most often with the cable machines or leg sled. If I can finish three sets of two or three different exercises before you so much as reach for the bar, that's not bad behavior. There are also way too many times that someone takes dumbbells from the rack only to stand only just inches away from it, keeping anyone from getting near that part of the rack. There's no excuse for that when there are several hundred square feet of floor behind them.

People really sleep on effective customer service, I swear. This location is SO much better. The environment in my humble opinion is much better. Aside from me blending in (read between the lines), it is just more up beat, has better customer service and the management team is good to go. There might be one or two idiots, but those are usually Gen Z folks who usually dont know any better. Their treadmills are pretty updated, and to me, they are larger. And you CANNOT beat the Women's Gym which is safe and secured from idiots making underhanded comments. This location could be crowded to the ends of the earth, I will take the drive, rather than the negative Nancy little boys they have up in Delran's management team. The turf area is perfect for freestyle exercises, and the movie theater adds a fun, unexpected touch that makes working out feel less like a chore. It's clear that a lot of thought went into making this gym a complete experience. Every visit feels like an opportunity to try something new, whether it's a different exercise, a recovery session, or just enjoying the amenities. If every gym offered this level of variety and care, staying fit would be a lot more exciting for everyone. A regular membership is $10/month, so she's basically paying 2 memberships to be able to bring a guest. I think those prices are great, though. I don't know where to start with Giant. I love it more than the gym I belong to. There's plenty of equipment, and I never see broken machines waiting for repair. I don't think there's fans, but it does feel like there's good airflow in the cardio rooms. The treadmills charge my iPod and I can plug my headphones into the machine itself and use the dials to control my playlist. The run is smooth; I can run longer on their equipment than I can at the gym I belong to, or the treadmill at my house. There's a pretty good selection of weights as well. The gym is never very crowded, and I never have to wait long (if at all) to use equipment. I feel more comfortable working out in a less crowded environment- I feel as though I have more privacy. Honestly, I'd join Giant myself in a heartbeat if there was one in Blue Bell, PA. We seriously need better gym selections in this area of PA.
