Pros: The gym has a LARGE amount of amenities. There are two basketball courts (which are also used for pickleball), an indoor lap pool with hot tubs, an outdoor swimming area with slides (at an extra charge). There are classes, a ton of different machines for both cardio and lifting, and a really clean and upscale atmosphere. People tend to mind their own business and the staff have on average been helpful, at least in my experience. There is also a kids "daycare" if that's what you call it. A lot of parents will use this so they can have time to work out and actually work. There's a little area right next to the cafe that has tables and outlets. I see a lot of people with MacBooks doing work. They probably work remotely. Who knows. Cons: The price point for this gym is definitely the highest of them all coming in at $220.00 a month per person. IF you are married or you can prove cohabitation, you can add an additional person on your account for around $100 a month. This gym definitely has a crowd that is very gymcentric. This isn't a bad thing. But some people who are looking for a more chill or less intimidating atmosphere may think twice. I was one of these people until I decided to just not care. But that's easier said than done. The gym can be exceptionally crowded at peak hours. So if you plan on going daily I'd do my very best to avoid late afternoons on weekdays and nights on weekends. I was hoping the bathroom situation would be a little better but, there seems to be 2 bathrooms for ladies and men of course (from what I've seen). And with the amount of people there sometimes, it can be a little bit hectic. The locker room is fine and the showers are just average. At the price point of $220.00 I was expecting some futuristic pod shower than also does your taxes but, we all can't have what we want. The outside swimming area is an additional monthly charge, by the way. Conclusion: So take it or leave it. The price point is HIGH, but there are a lot more amenities and options for machines than any other gym out there. Is that justified? I don't really know. So three stars. Until they have a robot that does my taxes, then it might go to 4.

I, myself, am here primarily for the gym and basketball court. Some of the equipment are showing their age a bit, however there's nice variety for whatever your needs and goals are (a mix of old school and new) and at the end of the day, all of it gets the job done. The vibe is pretty chill and non-intimidating. There's no sizing each other up, looking to be the alpha dog in the room. This isn't where people train to be the next Mr. Olympia. No one is "flexing for the Gram" and I like it that way. If you're looking for a nice, family friendly, no non-sense, fairly priced gym with a good variety of activities, friendly staff, then CHHRC is an ideal choice.

It's not a fancy place but that doesn't really matter; you're hopefully there to work out and it's perfectly fine for most people who want to work out. One thing that should be pointed out is that they recently swapped some seemingly underused equipment out for half racks. Those look to be very popular (so kudos for meeting customer's needs) but also freed up the smith machines. This makes the gym more open and leaves more racks open at a time. [Further to the gym's credit, it was not too long ago that that bought two extra smith machines to meet demand] My only real issue, as in the past, is that there is not great etiquette among some gym users. Too many people occupy benches and equipment for long periods of time while just sitting on their phones. This happens most often with the cable machines or leg sled. If I can finish three sets of two or three different exercises before you so much as reach for the bar, that's not bad behavior. There are also way too many times that someone takes dumbbells from the rack only to stand only just inches away from it, keeping anyone from getting near that part of the rack. There's no excuse for that when there are several hundred square feet of floor behind them.

And you CANNOT beat the Women's Gym which is safe and secured from idiots making underhanded comments. This location could be crowded to the ends of the earth, I will take the drive, rather than the negative Nancy little boys they have up in Delran's management team. I don't think there's fans, but it does feel like there's good airflow in the cardio rooms. The treadmills charge my iPod and I can plug my headphones into the machine itself and use the dials to control my playlist. The run is smooth; I can run longer on their equipment than I can at the gym I belong to, or the treadmill at my house. There's a pretty good selection of weights as well. The gym is never very crowded, and I never have to wait long (if at all) to use equipment. I feel more comfortable working out in a less crowded environment- I feel as though I have more privacy. Honestly, I'd join Giant myself in a heartbeat if there was one in Blue Bell, PA. We seriously need better gym selections in this area of PA.

This is my sixth week in and so far I absolutely love it. First of all, the gym looks great and is super clean. The Thrive coaches are really helpful. I have been working with Jeff at the Fairmount location, and Natasja in the administrative department. They are dedicated and focused coaches. It's a very welcoming environment, and the other people in the classes (they are small, sometimes I'm the only one) are nice. Once again, 6 weeks in I am already making noticeable progress that I was never getting by myself. I love it.
