This is my first experience with LA fitness in Arizona. I typically go to classes. I like that there is ample parking. Although it may be busy inside you can still enjoy a great workout. So far, machines are never out of order. Weights are abundant. I like that there are classes available such as cycling and also open space for pickle ball practice. I would like to see the smoothie bar upgraded. It's not open as much as I would have thought it would be. It also doesn't include calorie count so it feels counterproductive read more

I have been coming to this location several times/week for the last 9 months. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, positive experience and beneficial.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would be more inclined to contract w a LA Fitness trainer if i saw them working with their clients and appeared more approachable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I see the trainers completing the complimentary initial assessment and folks carrying their journals as well as working out in the Training only designated area but never see them coaching. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They should also make it a point to greet and say goodbye to every customer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Some staff just stare at their phone when customers come and go and dont appear approachable so i hesitate to engage them as i have more questions re the training program.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another concern is the men's locker rooms, bathroom and sauna need a good cleaning. This gym has ancient equipment that's constantly out of order. The treadmills still have the old iPod wide connector--if that tells you anything about how outdated it is. The place is also absolutely filthy, with dirt and dust everywhere. LA Fitness used to be a really nice gym, but it's gone way downhill over the years. I have been a member for years now at the AZ Pavilion location. I'm giving 2 because they don't open until 0800 on the weekends which is ridiculous. The LA Fitness on Ina Rd opens at 0600 on the weekends. The rates are good for everything they offer. Their main problem is gym hours and they really need to refurbish their hot tub because it's pretty worn and torn. If their gym hours started at 0400 on weekdays, and 0600 on weekends, I'd still be with them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm giving 1 for their shady practices of trying to cancel a membership[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For example, ANY employee can sign anyone up for a membership on any day and any time. BUT, when you want to cancel, they tell you that you have to do so between 0900-1700 Mon-Fri which they KNOW most people are working during these times which means they can continue to charge you membership fees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This practice is unethical and borderline criminal not to mention disgusting and morally reprehensibl. read more

As of 10/28/23 the club has implemented a new rule. People were stopped at the door being told that if a member is not at the gym an hour before the club closes, you will not be allowed in. Gym Staff physically blocked the door and locked it to ensure no one gets in and says a sign has been up for a week to let everybody know the new rule. Per management if the club closes at 8pm, you must be in by 7pm. If you arrive at 7pm they said that would be too late. Not sure what is going on here? read more

I would give zero stars if I could. The "club manager " at Marana Arizona Jason is extremely rude and unprofessional. I was to make an appointment when I was ready.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My appointment was with Rob, the PT direcior on 10/13/2025 at 10 a.m. I went to the Aqua Fit class at 9 and it was wonderful! He said I couldn't get any of those perks without sigNing up with a private trainer![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went to Roy and asked him about this and he said Rob must have misunderstood me. This is a real nice gym. Very clean, plenty of lockers. This is the most friendly population I've encountered in a week. I m doing a round table tour of all the locations. But a glaring miss is NO SEATED SHRUGG MACHINE. It s not just gone, they didn't get one. Huge miss. You are restricted in what you Can do it if you improvise. But!!! That alone cost a star from me and I won't be back. But as a free weight area it is excellent. read more

The Saturday Aqua class is hit and miss when the instructor shows up, when he does is late and ends early. It's bad enough but to add to the poorly ran class..... the back to back booking from Aqua to Zumba with no transition time is poor management of classes. This location is usually VERY busy, especially in the early evenings. I'm usually able to get a treadmill, but the weight area is PACKED and it's hard to claim any space for yourself. Lots of people posing to take workout selfies instead of actually exercising. The childcare is top-notch. My kiddo has been going there since before the pandemic and the staff is fantastic, I feel like he's very safe there and he has a blast climbing on the play structure. There's no childcare on Friday afternoon/evenings, which is a bummer. I use the pool often and it's well-maintained. It's only three lanes, which is a bummer (the one on Ina has four) and there's no designated walking/slow lane, so it can be a bit tricky to get a spot. It seems that nobody here knows how to circle swim, which is awkward. I've had trouble with older men sitting in the hot tub and leering at me while I swim. Gross. read more

A bit of dishonesty when joining membership. They only gave me one option of nationwide membership. Never once did they offer me the local Arizona plan. Even after asking if there was anything less expensive. When I mentioned that he should offer the other option to everyone joining he said "well that's (nationwide) the most popular one." I went to my gym LA Fitness on Cortaro road in Tucson. When I arrived the doors were locked. I asked the front desk attendant what is going on, he said the manager Jason text him mandating he activate the early entry closure tonight that has been advertised to start on October 31, 2023 (see pic). No other justification was provided. As a business executive this is unequivocally unacceptable behavior. I could not be more upset with this approach. In addition, it put the front desk staff in a very awkward position. Frankly, I have no idea what problem Jason is trying to solve by closing entry early. The staff could not articulate either. I have no idea if this practice is happening at other locations. Nonetheless, how I was treated tonight as a paying customer was infuriating. If you are considering joining this gym, ask a lot of questions before you commit. The management seems to lack integrity. I will be reviewing my current contract to determine if this is a breech of our agreement. read more

This location is nice and well kept up. Every time I walk in I'm greeted and same thing when I leave. Staff always seems happy. Plenty of lockers and a sauna. It does get busy during peak hours, but you're gonna have that any gym you go to. My only "complaint" is the hours they're open. It would honestly be perfect if they did some kind of keyless entry for 24 hour use and just blocked off or closed the things they didn't want customers to touch. I got a email offering 24.99 a month no money down so I went in to check it out lady tells me the offer does not exist in Az "I called afterwards.. it does" she tried charging me 35 a month with 99 $ down and once I didn't agree and was gonna walk out she said since she is the manager she would move it to 30 a month with no money down just first and last month to start up. Not even 30 seconds later another employee introduced her self as the manager...??? It's seems they have more managers than regular workers there apparently. Came for a 3 days pass. Not from the area. Dude at the front desk couldnt activate a free 3 days pass. So he said "wait over there" as he got someone else to come help us. We waited over 10 minutes as he opened his instagram and started scrolling. Then the "sales rep" just wanted a nice opportunity to try and sell a membership, even though hes staring at my out of state license. Lol Its all good about that part. However, the fact you have people at the front desk who can not activate a pass is a joke. Im so sick of these big chains and their shitty staffs. Cardio was pretty old and dirty. He is not only knowledgeable in Food Sciences and Physiology, but also highly experienced with how foods and workout can impact one's lifestyle, posture, and emotions. He is enthusiastic and infused with a burning passion to help others achieve their goals. If you are looking for a trainer who won't be giving up on you, Kyle is the right man to go to. In terms of my rating for this LA Fitness, my explanation can be derived from the fact that there aren't much a variety of equipment here, and you can't rent anything. And no one uses them..because they dont hit! They lift. I enjoyed myself and the solice of my peace and quite. Through out the gym is clean...some of the personal trainers are lacking the im a friendly person attitude...but other than that. You have really serious lifters cause their clothes are matchy matchy. So you know they serious. Staff was quite not real friendly but you weight the pros and cons...friendly staff or clean toliet. I stopped by my local LA Fitness to put my membership on hold while on a 12 month deployment to Kabul, Afghanistan, as a (civilian contractor) pharmacist. The manager said I would be dinged $10/month to maintain the membership (while the member is on the other side of the planet, and not using the facilities). She said freezing the account with no monthly fees was only an option for active duty military. It's sad that LA Fitness lost a member who paid $24.99 per month for the last 10 years, just to grasp at $10 a month for providing nothing to member. My wife and I have been members for 7 years, no issues until you try to cancel your membership. For one they say you have to appear in person and speak to a manager. They said the manager is only there for 4 hours on Friday. I tried to meet with the manager last Friday, wasn't there and no one new when they would be there. I called a corporate number, same BS, said you need to fill out a form that they would send( still have not received) and take it to the manager in person. The facility is closed now due to the Coronavirus. I believe I wall just stop payment, I believe I have enough paperwork to sue if the try to send to a collection agency. This gym is in a weird area. It's in a shopping center and that makes it hard to get to when it's the weekend. There is usually a lot of traffic along with several restaurants surrounding it. The people are wondering and they are very active about cleaning machines. Personal trainers are very committed to helping in any way they can. They have a plethora of workout machines along with several racket ball rooms that can be used for several things. The basketball court is closed off from the main area so it's nice and quiet. read more

I pay a gym for good equipment. I can get crappy equipment at an apartment complex. This gym fails. They buy cheap equipment and fail to maintain it. I have been a member here since it opened and am pleased. I would like to see a larger variety of classes but other than that, am happy. I mainly use the treadmill. I paid up front and got a good rate so I have no intentions of leaving! I had a training session today with Corina and she was fabulous. She knew how to work with my injury and she knew how to help me with strength training geared to improving my running. She is knowledgeable and will be a great help in Meeting your fitness goals. read more
