The atmosphere was excellent, and while it's on the pricier side, that's to be expected given the upscale area. I ordered the Bife de Chorizo (New York steak). It arrived a little more undercooked than I prefer, but the service was exceptional. The waiter was attentive and proactively checked on the steak, quickly taking care of it without any hassle. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the meal were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the queso fundido, which did not disappoint, and the Old Fashioned was very well made. Between the quality of the food, the outstanding service, and the ambiance, I'd definitely recommend giving Dante Brasa a try if you're in Polanco.

We were also served a small plate of breads and sauces while we waited for our food. Dante is also in a beautiful neighborhood with a stunning ambience. The only heads up I'll give is that they actually allow smoking in part of this restaurant, and we didn't know that when we were offered a seat out on the terrace. So it was very unpleasant to be enjoying this food only to have someone smoking at the next table. So just be sure when you go (don't let this keep you from going, please!) you specify that if you're in the patio section you don't want to be near smokers. That aside, I will definitely return HUNGRY and will try their other delicious-looking dishes!

There are two dining areas and a fascinating little store that sells tea, jewelry, designer clothes and in the hallway, beauty products (I think). Note: It is quite dark. I felt really old because I needed my phone light to read the menu, but our much younger waiter also had trouble seeing to process our credit card lol. Service was kind and professional. Tuscan food is unusual for us and we don't eat many of the ingredients, so our selections were a bit limited. Happily, we both found dishes that we enjoyed. My husband had chicken breast, which came with a salad snd sweet potato puree. The salad dressing was so light and lemony. I want to come back just for that. My white fish was Mediterranean in style and cooked in a sauce of cherry tomato, artichokes, olives and capers. It was delicious, but enough for two or three meals, so I took some home. Our meals came with herbed crisp breads and herb butter. They have a nice selection of teas and I absolutely loved the white tea with flower petals and lychee. Overall, a great find.

My favorite was the blackberry with cream filled one. We also got some coffee here and it was delicious as well. The man that helped us was very friendly and give us some advice on things that were his favorites at the restaurant as well. However, the personnel cannot care less for you. Almost like they were looking to serve regulars and not spontaneous shows. It surely feels like if they were looking down on you. Nevertheless they know they trade well, because they will push you to order the most expensive item on the menu for sure. Speaking of the menu, the breakfasts menu is well thought and on paper sound delicious. The plates come out very fast... suspiciously fast. I order Mexican Benedict eggs and they came out in less than five minutes. I know eggs Benedict do not take long to cook, but the egg yolk came out overcooked. Almost as if they had them already "poached" and just reheated in boiling water. The sauce was a good idea, mixing habanero with hollandaise, but besides the color, the sauce did not taste to habanero at all. So another fail. The house chips were good. The coffee uninspired, good, plain and simple. The pastry was also good but I was expecting more. It was kind of chewy and soft, when I was expecting crunchy and buttery. They reheated it for me (or kind of tried because it was still cold), and still it was only pasable with not enought filling This is not a too expensive place for breakfast, considering what they charge on their dinner menu. But it's definitely too expensive for the quality they offer. Around the corners are better places to have breakfast. So, came here only if you are looking for a nice place to sit and you don't care a lot about the food you eat.
