Outside it was still pleasant but you sit on plastic chairs and most the diners outside, like us, waited about 30 minutes at our tables until our order was taken. All that said once we placed our order the food was promptly served on all occassions. It was always rich and delicious, with all ingredients tasting super fresh. The flavors were bold but not overpowering, and the portion sizes were modest but fair. The prices were a bit high relative to other places you could find around here but generally speaking you pay for quality at this place. Music starts at 8:30 (it used to start at 8:00, and I wish it still did or at 7:30) -- no cover. (That's not to say that on the other nights you won't hear good music; over the years there have been many fine trova singers.) That said, Merida is a very very saturated pizza market and it's likely if you ate your way around the city you might find other places you also like. The prices I think were a little high relative to other places you'd find not on Calle 60 (or 47), but they weren't ridiculous and I can see why some folks would call it their favorite in Merida. I often don't like italian food…read morebecause back in the states i find the pasta has to much oil and butter and the pizzas have more bread than tomato and cheese. At la tratto the pasta has a nice balance, not a lot of oil and butter and not a lot of garlic which to me makes it perfect. Their server was a nice lady that had vast knowledge of wine and food and always suggested the right wine to try depending on what you were eating. The pizza is great with a thin crispy crust and quality ingredients. Did i mention that they have wine flights so you can try different ones?
