This Place Was Delicious We stopped by during a Friday afternoon and this place was empty. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We began with the Fondutta di Formaggio which was so cheesy and flavorful (the cheese pull was insane). I also tried the Spinach Ravioli which comes with 4 big pieces. The sauce was very well seasoned that with the Parmesan on top it was a bit salty. Those bites without the added Parmesan were the BEST. They had a full bar which means COCKTAILS, but we decided to stay on theme and get wine. They have a vast selection, you'll be sure to find one that pairs lovely with your food. read more

You won't believe the pizza oven, decor is warm and classic. They are generous with their use of mozzarella cheese on many dishes. I enjoyed a seafood lasagna with octopus, clams, shrimp, and scallops. Very tasty. The wife had chicken Marsala with Alfredo pasta. She loved her dinner. Started with cheese fondue like sis. We went there to have a pizza and salad that looked so good online. Once there and looking over the menu, I had a pork shank OMG, slow cooked for five hours in a wine sauce with perfect vegetables. My wife had a chicken Marsala....delicious!!!!! Had to top it off with a bottle of local Sheraz-smooth Our waiter, Abraham was a delightful sincere gentleman that made the difference between a good and a great meal. This place is a little piece of Italy. The food is so delicious, we cleaned our plates. We had a pizza, spaghetti and chicken parmesan and everything was absolutely amazing. We had walked by here on the way back to our hotel and it looked very nice and the menu had many items to choose from. We were surprised that they are open at 7am for breakfast and do not close until 11pm (on their Facebook page but I think they close earlier a couple nights so call first). The breakfast menu had typical meals similar to other places in the area. The interior is that of an upscale Italian restaurant anywhere. They have nice seating on the patio as well as booths and many tables inside. There is a bar on one side of the room with many different liquors and wines as well as non-alcoholic drinks. There is a big wood fire pizza oven in the back by the kitchen with a huge face on it. We were ushered to a booth in the back. We chose a bottle of chianti from Italy ($25) since they didn't have it by the glass. It was a good pairing with the food we planned to get. They brought a bread that we dipped in the basalmic and olive oil it had a texture more like biscuits than Italian bread but it was ok. We ordered a Caesar Salad that they were nice enough to split on two plates. The lettuce was crisp and the dressing was pretty good but there wasn't very much so you had just plain lettuce with croutons (homemade out of the bread). Our entrees were the Osso Buco. It was unusual as it was pork but it was large and very good. The sauce also was different than Italian Osso Buco but it went with the pork well. I had the lasagna that was served piping hot out of the oven. It was delicious! The meat was tender, the sauce had excellent flavor and the cheese was brown and bubbly. Overall, the food, service and especially ambiance made this 5 stars. Our entire bill came to $63 with the $25 bottle of wine so very reasonable. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend it to anyone. read more

Currently our sailboat is in the Cruiseport Marina, so we have been able to try out many of the local restaurants. The day my wife and I wandered into La Forchetta it was a bit chilly outside so we decided on a booth inside. Service was good, and we settled on sharing a salad, and we each ordered a pizza (you could easily share, if only you can agree on spice level - personal issue). I had the house Cab which was quite nice. Pizza was good, and would compare favorably to most in Italy (we have eaten our way from Milan to Naples). Prices are a bit higher than some of the local places, but warranted, and we left after salad pizzas, wine and an espresso for under $50 USD read more

Great place. This restaurant is in the heart of the Ensanada tourist area and since we've been eating tacos like crazy, we wanted something different today. The Eggs Benedict was so freaking yummmo. This is a great restaurant. Bonus that it was down the street from our hotel - Casa del Sol. The interior was cozy with nice lighting and booths toward the back. The Chianti bottles with candles provided nice ambiance on a cool rainy night. Excellent, friendly service by Jazmin. Delicious Caesar salad and the best pizza we've had in a long time. We stumbled upon La Forchetta, after the Italian restaurant we were seeking was closed. Lucky for us! We were greeted by Francisco, our gracious and accommodating waiter. He proceeded to bring us a bottle of Pinot Grigio, followed by some scrumptious garlic bread. (I polled my friends, and they all agreed I should give the restaurant five stars.) I had the Pollo Florentine (amazing), my friend had the Pollo Marsala, (equally flavorful) and another had the Penne with sausage (fabulous). I travel to Italy about 20 times a year, and I would say La Forchetta paralleled many restaurants I have found in that country. La Forchetta had fabulous food, attentive service, and pleasant ambience. (check out the pizza oven)! In my opinion, you can't go wrong. After 30 minutes, tried to flag someone down and asked for my order - after 15 minutes they stated it was almost ready, even though I could see the guy scrambling to make the pizza. He seemed to be reading instructions so I'm guessing he was new Ordered some pasta and the pizza di prociutto di parma. After I got my order, I noticed the pizza seemed wrong. No parmesan and the mozzarella cheese was barely worthy of a $5 Little Caesars. "Pizzas di prociutto di parma" from my past are not tomato sauce based. There's did - maybe the local market expects that. Anyway, I decided to show it to the girl in the front and ask if the pizza was supposed to have sauce or if it was an olive oil based pizza as the menu description led me to believe (menu description: "prociutto di parma, parmigiano reggiano slabs, arugula and olive oil"). Guess thats the way they serve it, because when I asked she assumed I wanted more sauce on it. :( Plus with the rush to get the pizza out, the crust was way undercooked. This is a place downtown that I thought looked good but I never tried. It is really good. The pizza and pasta were very fresh and delicious. The basalmic salad with spinach and apples was wonderful. This Italian restaurant itself was great! The food was delicious and definitely well priced. It has a romantic atmosphere and the staff is pretty friendly and helpful for the most part. We got lasagna, fettuccini Alfredo, Cesar salad, and fried calamari(all pictured in my review) and it was all fantastic. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the service towards the end of our meal was terrible. It took a good while to get acknowledged for a refill and after we finished our meal we had to ask for our check three separate times to two different servers. When we finally received our bill(about 15-20 min after initially asking for it) nobody apologized for the delay, on the contrary, the server just dropped it off and went back to talking to the bartender. read more
