My hand for reference. The mozarella sticks are huge
David H.

Ochento's is our favorite pizza place in Ensenada for sure. And their mozarella sticks are huge and amazing. I'm looking forward to trying some more of their dishes.

Another lovely location. Close to some other great restaurants (eg nativo, Porto petanca) Had the ensalada "blue cheese" and the pizza "Salchica" with the red Irish beer Beer is very good, somewhat light Lovely atmosphere, attentive service, and there was a guitarist to add some music which was a lovely touch) Looks as though locals come here. Road is a little rustic. There is a little market as you come in and various animal pens. Loads of parking Dough home made but a little "bready ". Flavour is good. Dropped a star because of the dough (but that is a personal preference) Particularly keen on the guitarist

People were raving about this place so decided to try it. I can honestly say who ever gives it more than 32-3 stars has never had great pizza. Place it self is nice and rustic vibe to it with excellent views. Service was decent pizza did take a bit. But both pizzas were dry almost felt like they over cooked it. And crust tastes like it comes pre made. I really had huge hopes and was super exited since I love pizza but place fell way to short. The 2 stars are for the place itself but 0 for food.

When our private tour guide took us on this back hills dirt road and there were doves in cages, a Toucan that talks, a donkey and a real casual Italian place that we'd never have found on our own, I was surprised. She insisted this was a famous place with the best pizza in all of Mexico. She was so right! When I got home, I looked them up, and there they were as #1 pizza place. We absolutely loved their pizzas, and we ordered enough to try them all. Highly recommend this place, you can't be disappointed!!

A+ on everything that they sell here! The salad was fresh and delicious with a delicious house dressing. The appetizers were amazing!! The loaded fries to die for! The fried zucchini delicious! The mozzarella sticks perfection. But the stat of the show, our supreme pizza. Sooo so delicious! Their dough tastes perfect. Cannot say enough about what a great spot this is. I will definitely return.

Great PiZZa In Ensenada! SITREP I had some great tacos while in Ensenada, Mexico. But I was musing for something different on this afternoon. THE SETUP As it turned out, we were taking a tour of the nearby Brewery and I certainly was looking for something to be in my stomach before many draughts of beer went into it. Very happy this pizzeria was nearby. PEPPERONI PIZZA I'm always happy to find Pepperoni Pizza where I go. It's like speaking Standard Galactic with new beings. Eating Lembas in Middle Earth. Finding Peace Within. All roads lead to Pepperoni. ;) https://s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/B9y8FZZ0XeyqQyp6LD5mMg/o.jpg EL GATO DIABLO Make sure to BEHAVE when eating the pizza and drinking the beer! The owner-head bouncer EL GATO DIABLO won't take crap from anyone and will watch you intently the whole time you are there. https://s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/Mz-9JOhDRmHBoXQXweJlBw/o.jpg THE LOWDOWN If you're in need of sustenance while in Ensenada and want pizza, this is a great stop.

My friend and I would highly recommend this place! It was definitely an experience driving to it, but we'll worth the wait. We arrived 30 mins before they closed and we wouldn't have known it because the staff was very patient, friendly, and attentive. At the entrance they have a little vendor market and didn't get to check it out because we arrived late. They have several areas for seating with live music options as well. We ordered pizza, pasta, and antipasto salad. Sooo delicious! We go back to Valle once a year and plan to go again our next visit.

Extremely nice atmosphere. The pizza was pretty decent. They accommodated a vegan pizza for us as well. The wine was served too warm. The dessert was tasty. Overall, they were a nice restaurant for a last minute decision to go for pizza. My rating is based on the pizza more than anything else.

I've been here a couple of times, and though it's kind of out of the way, it's totally worth it! The food is always delicious no matter what you order. I forgot to take a picture of the tres queso pizza, but it was very tasty. It has a lot to look at so while you're waiting for your food, you can check out their goats and ducks or gardens outside. They also have tables big enough for larger parties. They're very eco friendly as well-you'll see what I mean if you use the restroom. But aside from that it's a lovely dining experience all together. The staff is great, and the food is yummy, so I know I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Crazy drive to get to but oh so worth it. I over ordered but am not sad about it. Everything was amazing! One of the best micheladas I've ever had. The cheesy potato wedges were to die for. Staff even better. Can't wait to go back

Tres Quesos

Delicious! Very cool atmosphere! We sat downstairs and had some furry buddies who came and hung with us for our meal . We had two pizzas, the Columbian and the Tres Queso's. The columbian was my favorite with the fresh basil on top. The columbian was good but not as good imo. Both were very good though!

Basement bar. Near the lower part of the grounds.

Pizza, puppies, and a basement bar. Count me in! Pretty far off the beaten path and Located up a bumpy hill is a treehouse/pizza place. Ochento's is a multi level restaurant and bar that serves unique pies and tasty crafty beer. The main dining area is all outdoors with about five or six dogs walking the property, begging for snacks, and belly rubs. My party and I ordered a chorizo and a pepperoni/ham pizza. Both were amazing, but the chorizo was the better of the two. Spicy chorizo sausage, fresh veggies, two different kinds of cheese, and all on thin crust. I loved the crust, light and crispy. Before the pizza indulgence we started in the basement bar, sipped a few beers, sampled some local wine, and walked the grounds This place is beautiful and the main outdoor seating area has a very nice view of the valley below. Like I said, there are dogs running all over the place and all of the ones I met were super friendly and just wanted pizza and cuddles. Pizza in Mexico? Thank you sir may I have another?!

[So mind the wet weather when considering "when" to go, and if the vehicle you're in can handle the potholes a foot (or more) deep.] THE SETUP We followed staff down rustic stone and wooden steps, past several different covered alcoves - almost Tiki in vibe - until we came to the cantina we all were invited into. Their partner-business Ochentos shared their pizzas with us while we sampled the brewery's beers. The varietals were tasty from their pale ale to their brown. The environment was exquisite with it's rustic norms, including the prima dona felines that made their presence known and purported ownership over the grounds we were proceeding. THE LOWDOWN A very fun trek to explore an out of the way brewery and some pretty tasty pizza. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-chivo-gru%C3%B1%C3%B3n-villa-de-ju%C3%A1rez?select=nQaP-BTNQeK0t4svUmAkxQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w

Luckily, we were able to secure a table at Quercus. The waiter was prompt and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. The chef was also quick to come and ensure that any questions we had about the menu were answered. The bread was served fresh with salsa - a combination I have not had before. Both the green and red salsa were not too spicy and to my surprise, went well with the toasted bread. For our main courses: 1. Grilled Octopus - 5 star presentation! Well seasoned and not chewy - which is something many other restaurants get wrong. The octopus still had a bite, but was still tender enough. It went well with the pickled onions and the guacamole that was served with the dish. 2. Ribeye - Again, excellent presentation befitting of fine dining. This was a huge portion, but well seasoned and not dry. We opted for the 500g (larger) size upon recommendation of our waiter, but probably could have gone for the smaller size. We could not finish it; perhaps if we had 3 people dining. Our meal was paired with an excellent white wine blend from one of the local wineries upon recommendation of our waiter. Highly recommended if you are in the area looking for a restaurant to have dinner at. If I were to describe this place: mediterranean food with a Mexican flare.

I have attached photos of most of the deliciousness! The cheese plate, the tomato soup, and the pork shank were my favorites. I did personally order the grilled octopus, it wasn't cleaned super properly and a lot of bits of it were over the top chewy but did have potential to be great! Also, with being sick I had ordered some hot tea and all I received was hot water with a sprig of mint lol. But all in all this place was amazing!

I do think there probably need to be folding chairs in the dark rooms where the media plays for older passengers on the cruise ships. They even mentioned that some of their wines can be found at Trader Joe's, which made me laugh--but honestly, it does make it easier to restock once I'm home. Overall, a fun and worthwhile stop on our excursion.
