It is quite good, prices are okay, but the food creativity and the space itself is right up my alley.
We tried this place because of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, specifically it was the El Potito that made us walk 45 minutes outside the core to eat it!! It was our only night in Madrid so we had to come here. It was very trendy, alot of goodlooking well dressed people. They also don't take reservations so we just had to show up and hope for the best. Luckily it was a Monday night so it was busy but not packed.
They don't really speak english and it is hard to read the sign when you first arrive but if you look at the pictures here on Yelp you can see that the exterior is pretty distinctive.
They have some nice patio seating but we decided to sit inside. It was wayyy too dark where they sat us and hard to read the menu (even harder since we speak only passable Spanish).
Food: we got the El Potito which comes in a jar and is filled with a coddled/poached egg, potato puree, and truffles. Needless to say it was everything I dreamed of and more!! We also got a a foie creme brulee, also amazing but it god a little cloying by the end since the portion was quite huge for two of us. We got some bacalao stew, it was good and could've been amazing but just fell short, and the jamon y queso fried balls were nothing special to be honest.
Wish we spoke more Spanish so we could've tried other things! But all in all it was a great experience.
Would I return? Yes if I'm ever in Madrid again! read more
