Only open for 2 months La Nueva Hacienda (The New Home) has built a very appealing restaurant setting in an historic downtown building and coupled that with the most diverse menu I've seen in years. That's not what I would expect in a small town north of Texas or New Mexico. Very well done! Lunch menu is served till 3:00 and offers a wide variety of choices but don't pass by the full menu, the diversity is outstanding. Service was immediate and attentive and the food delicious. Homemade salsas and fresh chips sure, but the chile rellenos are an absolute star! It's not a complex dish but when skillfully prepared and seasoned, standby by for a taste of Heaven. Refried beans are exceptionally well seasoned with subtle flavor, I swear I could taste a little epazote presence and they were very good. Not your average beans from an average place. Under new ownership. Was busy and they had a lot of staff but the prices were a lot more than the last owners. Also they don't have my favorite food there any longer which makes me sad because I loved the shrimp cocktail as I don't eat much Mexican food. The inside hasn't changed at all so it's still the same. Maybe they will get new bench seats because the ones they have are broken down and uncomfortable. Staff were nice. read more

That does not even deserve a star, but I could not speak if I did not push one. I just left there from happy hour. My sister and daughter-in-law, we had 4 margaritas at $6 a piece. She got 3 tacos, that was it. She just ordered 3 tacos to go home. With do you know they charged us $68? For $46 margaritas and 3 tacos, when I tried to correct the bill, the boy was going. Oh, well, I didn't know you were happy hour. Margarita. Well, it was the same d*** size I was drinking out of and I gave it to him to refill it. I will never go back there again and I hope that all of my friends will hinder to the case. That they will rip you off in a heartbeat and not make it right. Shame on them. They owe me about $30 on my bill, but I paid it but they screwed me over and I am not happy at all and I will never ever go back there and I will make sure everybody knows what a bad place it is. read more

Small place in a small town. Food wasn't bad. Cheese dip was a little different compared to surrounding Mexican restaurants. Salsa was good, and the meal was too. Soda was flat, I guess they were having issues with the machine. Service was standard. read more

Man, I can't stay away from this place! I think the burrito Sancho is now my new favorite. The bacon is so savory, the flavor is off the hook, with the shrimp and melted cheese. Chef's kiss perfection. Going to be hard to top this one tonight. read more

Ate here bc Paola restaurants were full. Saw this was close and reviews were good. Located in a downtown older building. Good shape and clean. Seated quickly. Not too full. Was about 8pm on a Friday night. Friendly service came fast. Brought chips and salsa. Chips were the thicker kind of chips and salsa was the more tomato sauce based salsa. Both were very delicious. Salsa was mild but flavorful. I had the chicken fajitas. Normal expected ingredients and very good flavor. More food than I could eat, so took rest home. Others in my party had a burrito, enchiladas, and combination fajitas. All was good. Definitely recommend this place. Wouldn't hesitate to eat there again if in the area. Or even if I had to drive a little to get there. Prices were typical. And even the water was good. read more

One of the very few restaurants we have in Osawatomie, La Hacienda is a must-eat place if you're in town and looking for some delicious food. Authentic Mexican that is perfection. They're used to surviving in a tiny town so their prices are very reasonable and, when I order carryout, the meals are ready in lightning-fast time. They've taken pandemic precautions and have every other table taped off so it's safe to stop in for a relaxing meal as well. Don't forget to swing in on Taco Tuesday as well! The scenery was authentic, but the food was not. The food was good but not authentic. Salsa taste like tomato sauce. Needs some sprucing up. Prices were decent and it was a clean atmosphere. read more

The atmosphere was authentic and the staff was okay. Unfortunately, the waiter seemed to be pretty absentminded but she was trying her best. She forgot to bring us our drinks but was prompt with giving us our refills. The cook forgot to make my order, so it came out quite a while after everyone else's orders had come out. They gave my mom beef instead of chicken in her burrito, but at least she said it tasted good. The only problem was that it took way longer than it should've for 6 people to eat there. read more

This place is allways quick and affordable! I order Togo a lot and the staff packs up chips and salsa to go every time! The Tacos are not authentic Mexican but this town is very "white" so they do what they can to make a living and good food! Great family atmosphere! read more

Today was Taco Tuesday and I had a taco and an enchilada. Like the other review said it is not authentic, but it is good. It was more like the fast food tacos. But when we are in this area about once a year, I need my Taco fix from here. Enjoyed it as much today as we have in previous years. Love the restaurant.
