The week of Halloween, we stopped in for a late dinner to celebrate our kiddo. We ordered takeout once before and decided to dine in this time. Here is our experience: Ghost town: For a Saturday night, it was pretty dead. There were a lot of staff standing around or rolling napkins. They did not look too enthusiastic when we walked in so I was not sure what to expect. Customer Service: 8.5/10 Our server was attentive and very welcoming, which made up for the subpar first impression upon arriving. He made great food recommendations and even joked around with us a bit. We appreciated how kind and welcoming he was. I also noticed that we were seated on the opposite side of the restaurant near the back while other patrons that came in were seated near the bar area near the front. Why hide us away? I was not a fan of this. I guess it was a plus being near the bathroom? Food: 6/10 Sadly, I was not impressed with the food. Our kiddo got chicken tacos, and my husband and I got the beef chimichangas. They were just okay but the kid enjoyed the tacos. I did not care for the flavor of the chimichangas. The salsa was decent and we did not get queso this time around. We spent nearly $40 for our meal, which is standard for the three of us to eat out. True to authenticity: I really enjoyed the decor and the music that played during our meal. It was not too loud or distracting and they also had college football going. Overall: 6.5/10 I'm good on this place and probably will not return. The food wasn't anything to write home about and aside from the first impression, we were seated in the back of the restaurant away from everyone! Came out to try this place with my husband the place was definitely worth going back. The servers were on top on things no sooner they had us seated a different server brought us chips and salsa. Our food was out to our table within ten minutes. It was fresh hot and mighty delicious. The environment was a bit loud because the place is packed. My burrito tradicional lunch plate (reasonably priced at $7.75) was served just nine minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to start on the complimentary chips (thin & crispy) and salsa (mild). The burrito was packed full of moist, tasty, shredded chicken without any fillers (nice!), while the refried beans and Spanish rice were pretty good. The service was attentive and polite, with chips and salsa refills and a check-in by the manager, while the dining area was brightly decorated, with TVs and lively Mexican background music. Let me start with I AM NOT RELATED TO ANYONE TIED TO THIS PLACE. I have been here dozens of times. When it was "La Carreta"...it was good. Now, it is GREAT. I have read the complaints from others. They are garbage. The black lady who didn't like being seated near the bathroom (all seats are relatively close to one of the four bathroom) made it seem like they did that because of her color. They are color blind at this restaurant. If you look at her reviews, she has blamed everyone for everything. She's unreliable and frankly WRONG. Then there's the dolt who questioned why they were serving yellow tomatoes vs red tomatoes. He also asked why the onions were not caramelized. Wow. Talk about a professional griping about a competitor. I pretty much eat here every weekend and see the same families over and over. It's a family friendly place with a great atmosphere and even better service. Read these reviews with a lot of skepticism. When one anyone is at the top of their game, sadly, there will always e detractors who try to do everything short of slander to destroy a competitor. THAT is what the bad reviewers are. And, they are full of "it". This place is the BOMB. I suggest the queso dip mixed with their hot salsa. Then an order of "Jose's Special". It's like having an orgasm in your mouth. Over and over. I am from San Francisco. Have lived in Arizona and New Mexico most of my adult life (over 40 years). I know my Mexican food. Again, I have nothing to do with anyone tied to this place. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. I almost want to keep this gem a secret. The food was amazing. Their salsa is fresh and sweet. The sauce blends on the Chimi and Burittos are spot on. The espinaca dip simply delicious. My wife got a peach margarita and it was the best; balanced and enough alcohol you knew it was good. Prices are fair and the portions are a value. It's not cheap, but I wouldn't want cheap; rather have them create value thru quality. We took home food at the end, which creates even more value. To round out the experience, service was impeccable. We wanted for nothing. Ticket time was about 5 minutes on a busy Saturday. The place is clean and very nicely decorated. Casa Amigos is literally within walking distance of my house. For the past several years it operated under a different name and my wife and I were regular customers. When the new sign went up (it's really pretty, by the way!) we were both disappointed to see that our little neighborhood place had closed. We assumed the pandemic had hurt their business. That said, we were DELIGHTED to walk in and see the same delightful staff and the same familiar menu choices all under the name Casa Amigos, The House of Friends. Our go-to order is the Super Nachos with steak (which we share) along with the house margarita. It's just enough for us to feel satisfied without getting too full. Their chips and salsa are good... I enjoy their salsa as it comes, but my wife always requests a side of the "hot" salsa and doctors hers up to have a stronger kick. We've tried many items from the menu and they are all consistently good. The service is also generally good, though sometimes when they get busy it can be a bit slow, which is understandable. Every server I've ever had at this place has been pleasant. It seems they genuinely care about their customers. We first tried this place for its convenience... a quick walk to dinner and an easy stroll home afterward... but we continue going there because they offer a good product a very fair price. Four stars given because on a "good day" they're great, on a "bad day," it's awful. Customer service, accuracy of orders, and length of time waiting varies tremendously and you never really get the same experience which can be frustrating. One night we dined at the bar, we waited for over 30 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink and for chips and salsa to arrive. Once we gave our drink order to the bartender, she continued to work on tons of drink orders for the servers to deliver to tables. The couple next to us had issues as well, the gentleman was missing a couple tacos from his order and his wife was served the wrong meal, meanwhile their glasses had been empty for the 30 minutes we waited for our order to be taken. The bartender acknowledged the issue verbally but then turned around and proceeded to work on alcoholic beverages for guests at tables yet again. They either need another bartender during busy times or the gal needs more training. Positive notes- some of the servers are amazing and super sweet, Happy Hour is from 3:00pm-5:00pm Mon-Fri and the prices are great, their chips and salsa are one of the best and so is the queso dip. Super happy that La Caretta and out of this location and Casa Amigos took its place, the food is SO MUCH BETTER. read more

The margaritas are large and strong! We loved the variety of flavors to choose from. I had the combo fajitas and they were delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the price was very reasonable for the amount of food ($16.95 for steak, chicken, shrimp and crab). The combo also included crab, which I had never seen before at other restaurants. The decor is fun and there's a cute patio in the front. Would highly recommend for a fun night out. Food was not good. Skirt steak was as thin as paper and well, well done. Seafood chimichanga had a lot of cheese and not a lot of shrimp or steak. Margarita was too sweet. Costco margarita is much better. Young man who was our server was not good. He never came back to our table to bring more drinks, etc. It must have been a rough night for the place because two servers dropped their food dishes onto the floor shattering them. They've settled in here nicely after taking over for La Caretta. I recall at first then having a smaller menu, but have since then expanded with lots of options for all. We were able to enjoy a full 8 person sit down here really comfortably. Service was all very quick and friendly. Nice drink options. I myself enjoyed a modelo and a beerita. I enjoyed myself some tacos, the deep fried one was pretty good. Their salsa could use a little bit more kick, or an option of a hotter one, but had good flavor nonetheless.
