My family and I searched for months for a contractor to help us renovate a portion of our 100 year old duplex. After interviewing 8 contractors, Miron from LA Home Construction came by and felt the most honest and confident in what we wanted to accomplish. His bid that was right in the middle of the other bids. From beginning to end, one of our favorite parts about working with Miron was his communication. Any questions, concerns, or changes that we wanted to make along the way were addressed promptly. He's quick to update and deliver paperwork and contracts, and was on top of the payment schedule in a streamlined manner. Most importantly, Miron is kind and always available. He took all of our questions, large or small, seriously. We did make a few significant changes to the scope of work along the way, and the workers and sub-contractors all made room for the changes without hesitation. The project turned out great. From asbestos/lead tests, to demo and the replacement of termite damaged wood..from drywall/painting, new vinyl floors, electrical updates and central heat and air installation, everyone who came to work here was kind and good at their jobs. I was living in the apartment during the renovation, and a few times I had to remind the crew of this- so that the dust and debris would be better contained with plastic and floor protection. I know it's hard with multiple trades coming in and out over 8 weeks to keep that in check, and in the end I do feel like our home was treated with respect. We used LA Home Construction for our new outdoor deck and backyard redo. The old deck was falling apart and it was finally time. Our budget was reasonable, but by no means unlimited and we immediately got a good feeling from Miron that he understood this. The price was reasonable and the work has been great. I always believe the sign of a great contractor is how they handle problems. Every project has issues and whenever something came up, Miron dealt with it professionally and promptly. The job was only completed a couple of weeks ago and one of our windows did end up with a leak after the recent rains. Miron immediately scheduled someone to come back to find the problem and fix it. Knowing he has our back AFTER the project is completed makes all the difference. We love our backyard and look forward to working with Miron again in the future. read more

Miron and his team helped us with a large renovation after water damage we had to deal with across the house. He is very direct, honest, and easy to work with. Given the amount of work and complexity, it was good to have someone I could trust to consult what we should do and very transparently discuss new items as they were discovered and any additional costs. At the end, whenever we found any issues, there was no concern that Miron and the team would fix the issue. For example we had some bathroom wall stone chip and we tried to find a lower cost solution. But when that solution didn't look good, Miron offered to replace the chipped area and have it restored to a state we are comfortable. Miron takes pride in his work and it shows. I contacted Miron, the owner of LA HC from his ad in Malibu times. I had been looking for a reliable contractor to do a medium size job in my rental. The follow-through was exceptional. He was enthusiastic and accommodating. He came over three times, once with his sub-contractor named Able. He said that this is one of the many crews he works with. Able has his own group and he came to view the project to assist Miron in giving a bid. The ultimate bid included labor, plus materials at-cost with no markup, which is wonderful. In total, I had a wonderful experience with Miron. His sub was not without issues. BUT, Miron made sure he mitigated the problems, held the sub accountable, helped resolve issues. If you're looking for a contractor who's into the details, this is not your man. But if you need an honest contractor, which is rare, this is your guy. I do not suggest using his sub (Able) for anything more than basic stuff. He did a pretty bad job on my deck surface and was rude when questioned. Ultimately, no matter how they promised to fix it, there was no way. I had to get some credit from the contractor and pay for the difference. It's not recommended for anyone to use this sub for waterproofing work or attention to detail. Miron has other subs you can use. Also, although Able's crew were all nice people, you do need to supervise them closely. For example, when painting, they will skip steps and paint over stuff, so you have to point out what you want. If I complained to Miron, he corrected the issues. At the end of about 3 weeks, the carpet protection film was removed and the carpet was left sticky, which caused it to glue to dirt and turn dark. Miron hired a carpet cleaning expert who came and took care of it. This was after I paid him. So he did stand up to his promise. read more

Miron and his team were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job sanding and refinishing all of the exterior wood within our townhouse complex. The developer ended up using the wrong sealant when they finished the construction, and LAHC had to painstakingly grind off the old finish before applying the new one. The team was neat and tidy, and were extremely friendly and accomodating to the residents who occasionally had to ask them to move scaffolding or vehicles out of the way. We first thought that the job would be simple - just involving the replacement of our redwood desk with beautiful Trek materials - but it turned out the entire structure of our deck needed to be re-enforced. Here's why: i reached out to them about building a Trex deck on a house I recently purchased with my girlfriend and we were going to do some interior renovations ourselves before we moved in. Well as the move in date approached we realized that after removing the carpeting in every room and starting to install lamenant floating flooring, there was no way we'd ever finish before our fast approaching move-in date. So on a wing and a prayer I called Miron at the 11th hour and he said,"I have a floor guy he'll be there next week." And he was! Writing another review because I had more work done. I hired LA Home Construction (LAHC) to fix a previous contractor's mistake. The floor/pan of my master shower wasn't shaped properly. Miron came out and gave me a good estimate, which I accepted. I was a big disappointed by the difficulty in scheduling the work but LAHC worked very hard to stick to their commitments. I had complained last time that their installer had done an inadequate job of containing the construction mess. This time around they remembered my feedback and did a great job with containment. Overall, the job was completed with the originally set budget and in the time frame they promised. I did face some annoyance on getting on their calendar but that's how it is nowadays with how busy good contractors have been. Overall very happy with their work and LAHC will be my first call for any future jobs. read more

I put out a request for carpet replacement in my 1300 sqft condo. Jeremy Salman reached out very prompted and set up a free consultation. He was communicative every step of the way, provided estimates and helped problem solve as we went. He gave me a fair price and helped where he could when it came to saving any money. He showed up on time for the consulation, to bring samples, and on to get any payments. There were no surprises. For the installation, my entire condo was redone in 1 and a half days. The labor was amazing, moved my furniture, kept every clean and orderly. Everyone was very friendly, obeyed CoVid guidelines and helped get everything back in it's place when done. The new carpets are high quality and even difficult areas like near my sliding closet doors were handled on the fly with no issue. I could not recommend this more. We hired LA Home Construction to replace a bathub faucet. There was no easy access to it and it required some precision in taking the tiles off and putting them back. It's relatively small job, but our bathroom was recently remodeled and we were worried that in the wrong hands it might not look as nice after this operation. We had a roof leak that caused water damage to the walls and ceiling. A large section of plaster had been removed from the wall. We talked to several contractors and Miron was more knowledgeable and had a better price than the other contractors. They repaired our walls with drywall re-textured it and painted the wall and very large ceiling. They did it in half the time the other contractor quoted and it was precision work that looks amazing. My husband and I are very critical about having the job done correctly and they did exceptional work. Miron did an excellent job keeping me informed and talking with me about any concerns I had. We had a great experience working with Miron and LA Home Construction. We had about 1800 square feet of pavers put in on our driveway and are very satisfied with the end result. Miron was responsive throughout the entire process, always answering our questions and providing support as we navigated a project that had unexpected complexities. There were some minor issues that Miron happily worked out in a very timely manner. For instance, when the slope did not allow for water to drain appropriately, Miron and the crew were back the following day and it was fixed within just a couple hours. In addition, a delivery truck from a different company drove on the pavers (despite being blocked off with caution tape) before being sealed and so Miron had the pavers cleaned right away in order to make sure that the sealing process was completed correctly. The main crew consisted of three guys who were extremely professional, nice, and hard-working. They were always friendly when I asked questions and they did a great job. I called LA Home Construction about 2 weeks ago in a panic because we could not move our fridge out of the built in that it was set in to. The person who previously installed the fridge/floor installed the flooring after the fridge was placed which basically made it impossible to move the fridge! We were having issues with our Freezer and obviously we needed to be able to get the fridge out. I called about 7-8 contractors who would not help me. I finally got a call back from Miron and explained my problem and I sent some photos via text. They were willing to help me and I was grateful. Both Cesar and Fransico came to my home within the week to creatively find a solution to get the fridge out without ruining the surrounding cabinetry and minimizing damage to flooring (only one plank was damaged with the removal). They replaced flooring (so we can now easily get our fridge in and out when/if needed). We also discovered that the same issue had occurred with the Range/Dishwasher. I was so pleased with the work they did on the fridge, I had them come back the following week to properly address the Range/Dishwasher. Also, due to the prior kitchen design/gas pipe, I've never been able to push my range flush against the backsplash. This has been extremely annoying as items are always falling behind. Cesar fixed my problem by placing high quality, white matching piece of wood behind the stove. It looks nice, it is now functional, and the price to do the fix was very reasonable. We have some additional future projects we will like to do around our home and I would definitely look to LA Home Construction to help me when ready. I feel like they took their time, and really wanted to do a good job. I pointed a out a few tiny nail holes inside a cabinet and asked if they could cover with caulk ( or anything). I notice EVERYTHING which even I know can be annoying but Cesar was very gracious and said he would take care of it. A few other things to note: 1) Both Cesar and Francisco wore masks and presented their Covid-19 Vaccination cards before entering my house. I was super appreciative that they proactively demonstrated their Covid precaution awareness. It made me feel very comfortable having them in my house. We all wore masks the entire time. 2) Miron was very professional and timely when coordinating the initial contract and change order documentation ( the additional work). He also checked in periodically to see how things were going via text, which I appreciated. I feel like I was treated fairly and received a fair price for the work that was done. Overall, I'm really grateful that I found LA HC and that they came through when I was in a bind. I am also grateful that they repaired the poor work that was previously done. I know don't have to worry about issues in the future/have the same mad scramble should we need appliances serviced. read more
