The par 72, 7,669 yard course with fewer than 40 bunkers is an enjoyable experience for all who appreciate Colorado Golf. The unique black sand bunkers are a tribute to Trinidad's rich mining heritage. The course is already famous for #16 Intimidation, intimidation, intimidation! This par three is a very short, simple and straightforward, save for the fact there is a tee, a green and NOTHING else in between! The ballroom was good and the live band sounded good so I can say the acoustics are fine. The dinning room was beautiful, but I think all that was brought in. Where do I even start. We booked a tee time for July 19th, 2025 at 4:10 pm. We saw they had a…read moretournament from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm so we decided a later time would probably be best to avoid any tournament leftovers. How incredibly wrong were we. They literally allowed us to book this tee time without informing us that they had a couples league that would be teeing off in front of us. We had one of the league members give us the suggestion to start on hole 10, great let's do that. We made it through the back nine at about 6 pm. We get to hole one and there is a group teeing off from the couple's league to finish out their last 2 holes. Between them searching for a ball in two fairways for 10+ minutes and their slow pace it took 40 minutes to get through hole one and tee off on hole two. The website also states they are open from dawn till dusk, but doesn't mention carts have to be in by 7 pm. We made it to hole four on the front before the "Marshal" came to inform us the carts are supposed to be in by 7. He gracefully gave us until 7:30 to return them at 7:10 pm. The pro shop staff gave us no information about the course after we informed them we had never played there. No mention of a league about to tee off, no mention of the cart return time literally no help.They also charge the full green and cart fees for someone just riding along in the cart. When we asked the marshal why they allow people to book tee times when they have a league going on, his response was oh no one told us. How do you work on this course and know nothing about what is going on? He also likes to give unnecessary attitude when we question why none of this information was given to us. We were visiting family nearby and decided to spend our afternoon at the course to relax and have a little fun. This course is not the place for that. They should probably block off tee times if they have leagues going on. They should also train their staff with the knowledge of what is going on each day. I'm dumbfounded how a marshal and the pro shop for the course doesn't know they have leagues going on. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very unprofessional staff and the golf etiquette is non existent.
