They sold me the wrong replacement toilet flusher, which wasted hours of my time and caused…read moreneedless confusion and stress because it had inaccurate instructions on how to remove the prior flusher. The salespeople were dismissive when I pointed that the one they selected didn't look like the one I was replacing, and they didn't ask any questions about brands or model numbers. When I came back because of the difficulties resulting from the inaccurate instructions, they sold me pliers I wouldn't have needed if I had been given the proper part. When I came back a third time, they were defensive instead of apologetic for selling me an incompatible part and wouldn't accept a return for the pliers I would never have bought but for their misinformation. I would have been better off consulting Google, which found the proper part. Notably, their response here is based on lies or someone else's experience. Completely untrue. I hadn't picked a model on my own, they didn't stop me from buying a model, and they weren't misled by photos since I brought in the broken part. I relied solely on them, to my detriment. The only true statement is that their return policy is clearly posted. Their customer service is abysmal, and they lie about you if you post an honest and accurate review. As a result they have lost long-term customers. We will never return.

This store had just about everything, there are aisles and shelves galore to find what you need and items you didn't know you needed.. Staff is very friendly and ready to help. The checkout process is fast and easy. Take 1 train to Columbia University stop, 5 minute walk. If you're hungry after browsing and buying, there's Tom's Diner ( Seinfeld) nearby.

My five year-old wanted to buy a purse at this store. She paid cash and when she got her purse, and when we got out of the store, she realized that the button was broken. In a time when things are so corporate, it's nice to know they're still a bit of real New York on the upper west side.

They pretty much only have the basics: nails, screws, etc and what you might need for simple electrical or plumbing projects. Main complaint aside from most of the employees speaking almost no English is their return policy which is not existent because they'd don't take any returns and while it's clearly displayed it's easy to miss. And by no returns they mean it. Even if the same person sold it to you on the same day you are returning it an it's still in the same box and nothing is missing. For that reason I give them 2 stars instead of 3.
