La Lola Taco has been on my husband's must try list for a few months now and we finally made it over there. We ended up with a burrito, carne asada fries, baja fish taco, and Al pastor taco. I wasn't in the mood for tacos, but the carne asada fries were amazing!! For the tacos you can tell that the tortillas are made fresh in the restaurant and my husband really enjoyed them. He thought the al pastor taco was a flavor bomb. My son also devoured the burrito and commented on how good it is. I would 100% go back to La Lola Taco and recommend to anyone.

This is to tacos what a steakhouse burger is to a drive-thru burger--same name, entirely different intent. Maybe call them craft tacos? This place is clearly trying to do something different. These aren't fast, overstuffed tacos; they're cooked to order, built on organic ingredients, blue-corn tortillas, and sauces designed for each taco. You can feel the intent to make something thoughtful rather than (USA) familiar. The Brussels sprout taco was my favorite--creative, balanced, and genuinely excellent. I also had a tasty shrimp, carne asada and al pastor taco. There's room to refine the execution. More protein is necessary and slightly thinner tortillas to improve the meat-to-tortilla ratio and let the fillings shine even more. These aren't deal-breakers, just tuning. Different, deliberate, and worth experiencing if you're open to a new way of thinking about tacos ... er ... craft tacos.

La Lola taco has some really cool decor, that feels unique for the area. It's clean, well put together space with decent seating. I was able to try a few tacos, esquite, and a burrito, but I would definitely say that the burrito is the better value. It's a medium sized burrito and the price isn't terrible. The tacos were ok, but priced as a much higher category considering the size. Most people would probably need 3+ tacos. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions, there was a wait, but I think it was because of online orders. Overall, I think that the tacos are ok. I wouldn't mind trying them again in the future, and maybe a few other menu items.

I've been eagerly watching this space be remodeled into a restaurant and was super eager to try it now that it's open. The space looks super chic, with chandeliers and the works. Unfortunately, my experience with the food was underwhelming. The two tacos, burrito, and one cup of rice took a long time to prepare, even though my husband was one of just three people ordering food in the restaurant. When I got home to eat my tacos, I was once again disappointed. The tacos cost a lot, but the charcoal tortillas didn't really add anything taste wise, and there wasn't much meat. The grilled shrimp tasted great but were overwhelmed by the chili oil, and the pork was kinda bland. The rice was amazing though--but we only ordered it because there's no kids' menu, a big pet peeve for me. My husband said his burrito was pretty good, but overall, our experience was just okay.

This was my 3 rd visit to La Lola taco and I couldn't understand why such hot & cold reviews on yelp. With this last visit I now understand why- the 1st our food was excellent ( my 1st review) our 2 nd visit we found the shrimp taco over charred! But churros and other tacos very well done. Now for our 3 rd visit : 1st love the introduction of a kids meal - of fries / cheese quesadilla/ churros for $7.15 a perfect meal for the kiddos. Carne Asada burrito - good size & flavor - very good Los Angeles burrito- excellent- love the combo filling and perfect for a dinner Tacos: Shrimp - well grilled - chili crisp oil over done which gave the taco a over charred taste - removed the chili oil made it so much better Brussel Sprouts- loved the idea - but again the chili crisp oil made it seem over charred taste Al Pastor - good Baja Fish - excellent- a favorite We got a side of he beans and rice oh because our favorite. Good flavor and very well done Horchata Freeze - excellent House churros - excellent Next time I'll be asking for the chili crisp oil on the side or request one of their other salsa. I'll also be requesting a light char on my shrimp and Brussel sprouts as they seem to over char these food items! Our 1st 2 visits was at lunch time and the crew seems to take more care with preparation our last was for dinner! Our chips were also better prepared on our earlier visits .

They have Fresh food that is made to order. If you want salsa, you need to ask; they have red or green salsa. I ordered the carne asada burrito. The burrito was huge and had a lot of rice and beans. I wish it had more steak and guacamole for the price I paid. There was hardly any steak and guacamole. The chips with pico de gallo and guacamole I liked the best out of my meal. I wouldn't order the burrito again.

We tried almost every taco and enjoyed each one! They each had a unique taste to them and the flavors balanced really well with each other. My personal favorites were the Al pastor and carne asada. I'd love to come back to try their burritos and specials!

I really like this new taco shop in SLC. What makes La Lola different from other taco places is the blue corn tortillas and the amazing flavors. We tried a bunch of their tacos. Our favorites are the carne asada, Al pastor and the shrimp with the shrimp being the very best! The tacos are a good size too. Much bigger than street tacos. Make sure to get the churros too. The service is top notch. They are so nice. The restaurant is a good size. Probably room for about 50 people. Seating is simple and casual. Food comes out pretty quick. Define would go back again when I want a good shrimp taco

Chicken taco - won my husband over and he is hard to please with tacos - they are his ultimate!

This place is doing it for me and giving some others a run for their money! The ambiance is so cute - the service so great/ asked about the pina matcha and she gave me a sample - which it is bomb btw!

La Lola was such a sweet surprise. Came here in a whim because we were near Fashion Place and liked the sign. Three words: BRUSSELS SPROUT TACO. I would never have picked this but so happy I did, it was simply delicious!! We also tried the fish taco and the carne asada burrito, both of which were also YUM. The manager even gave us free chips AND churros, love when a restaurant does that. Great people and even better food, must try!

I went here on a whim after I got a massage. The restaurant is a fun atmosphere with beautiful chandeliers and enjoyable music. The staff were so kind and the service was good. I got my food to go since I was getting food for my family. The carne asada was way too chewy! I wouldn't ever get that again! The other things were ok though.

Fish taco, Pollo Asado taco, and Carne Asada taco.

My wife and I decided to try La Lola for a lunch date on a normal Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't packed, which surprised me because it has such a fresh, vibrant atmosphere. Ordering/paying is done at the cash register before the meal, and you serve yourself water and bus your own table, adding to the cool/laid back atmosphere. No sit down service here! Our food came out within in 5-10 min of ordering, so this would be a great option for a faster 'real food' lunch. Chips seemed to be made fresh and were delicious. Guacamole was REAL guacamole, not cut with other ingredients or premade. It was definitely made to order and seasoned well. We tried the fish taco, the pollo asado, and carne asada tacos. All the tacos were absolutely delicious: the meat was tender/juicy on all of them, and the flavor profiles were classic but refined. The fish in the taco was perfectly cooked, the carne asada came with a nice dollop of guac. The tortillas were nice and pliable and didn't crumble the way some corn tortillas will. The salsas were all excellent, and the chili oil was a welcome surprise; it managed to deliver toasted/smoky chili flavor without being super spicy. The red salsa was my favorite. I'd love to see a HOT salsa for those of us who like to sweat a little, and even some roasted jalapeños and onions are never a bad option at a Mexican place selling tacos. We also tried the rice and the beans: the rice was the best Mexican rice I've ever had, and the beans were excellent too. The rice was moist, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor without being just a sodium bomb. I like my beans to be a little thicker and these also seemed to have been cut with a tomato product of some kind, so a little different but still great. We finished with the flan, which had nice vanilla flavor but wasn't overly sweet, and the churros, which were fresh, had great cinnamon/sugar coating and delicious chocolate sauce in which you could really taste the real cacao powder. I'm looking forward to coming back to try the burritos next. I would say that they could make the portions a little more generous - @ $5+ per taco, I feel like they should have a little more filling. This shouldn't dissuade you - the food is excellent and a reasonable cost. Let's keep these unique places in Murray alive!!!!

Of everything we tried, the Cheesy Pastor Tacos were the clear standout. The birria, asada, and chorizo were all good, but the pastor tacos stole the show. Next time I'll probably skip the variety and just order those. The only thing that caught us off guard was the seating policy. They wouldn't seat our table until everyone in the party had arrived, even though the people we were waiting for were literally pulling into the parking lot. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean. First of all, Muertos Cantina is a total vibe! The inside is so cool with fluorescent lighting, colorful decor and bottles displayed beautifully behind the bar. Even the bathrooms are worth mentioning! Each one is decorated differently with tons of bright colors. Seriously, each bathroom is like its own little fiesta sanctuary. Now for the FOOD! They start you off with fresh tortilla chips and a trio of salsas, and the chips were AMAZING (especially the flour chips). Each salsa had its own completely different flavor. The Red Chile Arbol had some heat, the Chipitle Lime Crema was smooth & creamu, and then there was the milder Tomatillo Verde, which was my favorite. Soooo good! We also tried the Agua Frescas. They were refreshing, flavorful and really pretty to look at. The watermelon was probably our least favorite, but to me anything watermelon flavored can sometimes taste a little watered down. The pineapple was definitely the winner because it was way more flavorful and satisfying. Then came the Elote Corn Dip. YUMMY! It had fire roasted corn, cheese, spices, crema, pico de gallo, cilantro and Tajín. It had so much flavor and texture. Definitely one I would order again. My daughter chose the Birria Ramen, and I think this might have been her favorite part of the meal. It had slow cooked beef birria, consommé, melty cheese and ramen noodles with cilantro and red onions, plus lime and radishes on the side. It had a little spice to it and was absolutely packed with flavor. She loved it! My husband ordered one of their burritos with a side of tater tots. The kid in him was VERY happy that tater tots were an option. And FYI the burritos here are HUGE. I ordered the Smothered Spicy Chile Verde Burrito, and OMG. It had braised pork in chile verde sauce with rice and refried black beans, wrapped in a flour tortilla and then smothered with MORE chile verde, melted cheese and chipotle lime crema. It was MASSIVE and SO GOOD! I honestly have yet to find anything in Reno that compares to this one. I would order it again in a heartbeat. And whatever you do, SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! We got the churro beignets, and they were fantastic. Covered in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with caramel and condensed milk... seriously, what more do you need? They were the perfect way to finish the meal. Muertos Cantina ended up being such a great first stop on our Utah trip. Fun atmosphere, really good food, huge portions and so many different flavors. Again the atmosphere set the entire vibe for our meal. Yelp came through for me again!

The drinks are still just okay , a shadow of their former selves and I will never be able to accept the loss of my beloved watermelon margarita, the way they used to make it, but I will concede the drinks are decent. Service was fine. Parking is a hassle but that's just Sugarhouse. ‍ So yeah, I guess I'm back to "willing to eat here once in a while", from "I'm never eating here again". Steak, Mexican cream, tomatillo sauce, freshly shredded lettuce and cheese. I've never had anything like it but it is awesome. The service was quick and efficient. Very delightful people.
