Honestly I did not expect myself to become a frequent visitor of this spot but I LOVE IT. it really does transport you to a European country where the days are sunny and the people are having a casual glass of wine and snacks before going back home. WOW. Also their wine selection is off the charts. They regularly change their menu so you never get tired of trying things. But they have orange wines as well as reds whites and sparkling! Also definitely visit the bathroom while you are here ;)

My homegirl brought me here and it was such nice vibes. Very cute inside can deff get some good content and pictures. The menu was a bit overpriced for the quality/ quantity, but if you're willing to spend it then hey. The bathroom is very beautiful, smell awful like a porta potty. The staff wasn't rude, but wasn't friendly either. Just kinda like what do you want? Here's your drinks, NEXT. Just looking at the food options and everyone else's tables I wouldn't recommend ordering that from here, but the drinks was decent.

This wine bar was beyond beautiful! The aesthetics were very girly. I'll definitely go back with my girls for at nice brunch day out or for a celebration.

Came here while waiting for a table at Mencho and came back to bring my roommates because it's such a cute spot! You order at the bar and get handed your drink(s) right away and are free to sit wherever. Both inside and outside seating available - there's heaters outside. Ordered the flight of three and got to choose what I wanted to try, I felt that the pours were generous. The bathroom, wow, they outdid themselves, love the decor!

I absolutely LOVED this place. I was visiting family in Oakland and we randomly found this place and fell in love. The vibes are incredible and it really did feel like a little Parisian stop in Oakland. The decor is absolutely adorable, and even the bathroom was its own experience! The service was also great. The bartenders were super helpful in making decisions on what to drink. I went with the Sancerre which was delicious, my cousin has the frozen cocktail and also super enjoyed it. The charcuterie board was also great. The cheese selection was so good and they even had gluten free crackers which was awesome for me! I didn't want to leave this place. Can't wait to go back!

If you're looking for a cute spot to have a glass of wine with a friend, look no further than La Loulou! The ambiance is beautiful and transports you to France or Italy. You feel cute sitting there, sipping their tasty frozen Aperol Spritz. Before you leave, be sure to take a trip to the bathroom for a fun surprise!

Ambiance 5/5 Service 3 ( not over friendly) Food N/A wine only $40 for 2 glasses The ambiance is really nice, definitely feels like a French bistro, whimsical and bling. The decor from the bistro chairs, to the swing inside and the bathroom is where the investment has gone. My husband had a frozen apperal spritz and I had a French rose. Both a bit pricey, but we're paying for the ambiance after all. I would recommend as the place is lovely for a glass of wine, but don't expect excellent service to match the pricing. A collection of Small things could have made the experience better:like greeting customers, suggesting a wine by asking customer preference could have went a long way and an opportunity to up-sell food. A lost opportunity and dollars. Even pointing out the seating selection would be nice.i Felt like if I asked a question it would be answered but we didn't feel super welcomed. The food items looked nice with detail on the charcuterie tray. I honestly wasn't motivated by the service to try.

    Too cold Jacquère!

Was excited to try out Loulou on a chilly Friday February afternoon, I mean french-style bistro in Oakland! Well the place is indeed inviting but the prices are not France, nor Paris for that matter. I had an $18 glass of Jacquère, a grape from the Savoie region of France that I don't know too much about. But the temp of the wine was borderline icicle temps, so I got no flavor from it at all. I asked our server why she server it so cold, " oh, that's how it's done". Not. My wife got the least expensive which was a Pinot Gris,$16 from Alsace; great to see Alsace represented here but still a bit pricey. A $9 plate of olives was the only redeeming thing. And according to the server there is no happy hour pricing. It's gonna take a lot for me to revisit this place, had high hopes.

Hey LADIES! And hey MEN trying to impress the LADIES! Women owned, super chic spot! Dog friendly, yes. Kid friendly, no. Bring your pup, grab a spot on the outdoor patio, and soak in the relaxed, grown-up vibe. The bartenders? Incredibly friendly and actually helpful. The female bartender (didn't get her name, she's has great tattoos) will steer you toward something delicious based on your palate. The wine selection is stellar, and the vibes are immaculate. Highly recommend the champagne! Snacks? Yes please. The macaroons (blueberry, coconut cream, strawberry) are a delightful little treat, and the charcuterie board is a winner. Whether you're out with friends or looking for a chill date spot, this place delivers. Solid all around!

Small cheese and charcuterie plate and a glass of rosé

Welcome to Piedmont Avenue, La Loulou! I'm glad you're here. I met a friend for a late afternoon drink and nosh and it was delightful to sit in La Loulou's sun-drenched space. I ordered a glass of Sancerre rosé and a small charcuterie and cheese plate. I like that you order at the bar because if I have to wait, I'd rather do it up front rather than when I'm ready to leave. But I could see how this might be less optimal if you were ordering additional items and the place was crowded--it wasn't on my visit. If you like Bay Grape and/or Ordinaire, you'll like La Loulou (and probably dig its cozy vibe). La Loulou leans more cafe-like in its atmosphere, during daylight hours anyway. La Loulou is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and I look forward to visiting again soon!

From the top-- eye catching and beautiful design elements, cute French chairs and tables, and high ceilings. Great wine selection that's only getting better. I've been twice and the bubbles and non-alc Alsace are my top picks. Last but not least, I really like the counter order/table service set up. It removes unnecessary server issues or time wasted. Still have friendly service, too. The only thing I wish it had was bar seating. Lovely spot!

Three hours chatting over wine flew by! The space felt welcoming; I'd easily visit, again. Delicious Bordeaux, nice Champagne and Pinot Noir. The cheeses were full of flavor, which I loved. It's a sun-drenched spot that stays light at night. The decor is thoughtful: velvet seats, flowers at each table, and a clear menu (see pic).

They offer 1 oz, half glass, or full glass pours for each of the wine on tap. The wine on tap is mostly their wine pairings for the month. I love the concept and definitely tried a couple wines to decide which book I should read! Overall pretty cozy and intimate. The book selection is pretty small and curated. The shelves are tall and they have the moving ladder! Very beauty and the beast library-like! Would be good to come with one other person or solo to have some cozy reading time. I'm the early bird in the crew, so I slid in solo around 7pm to peep the scene. Turns out, our reunion coincided with Vinyl Bar's 1-year anniversary! I was immediately greeted by a fellow patron, which helped this awkward girl feel at home. I was delighted to celebrate a Black woman's success in an industry where there can be so many barriers to entry. I studied the menu and found a range of vintners and styles across different price ranges. It'd be easy for most folks to find something to enjoy. The light bites lacked flair. I got the vibe they're only there if you need to "put a little something on your stomach" between sips. The sound system is beautiful and clearly built for deep listeners. I felt surrounded by the acoustics, with the perfect balance of bass and treble. You feel grounded at Vinyl. It's the kind of place that makes it easy to slow down and actually be present. After a little bit of wine, I opted for one of the cheese plates. Truly great value! A few yummy cheeses of different varieties for around 25 bucks. It featured nuts, jam, and a giant pile of sliced bread. This was dinner and honestly could have easily been shared between myself and another person. I also tried the Vermouth spritz! The person staffing the bar was really busy doing many different things. As that was the case, interacting felt a bit strained.
