Vinyl was such a cool surprise! It's a Black-owned wine bar that only plays vinyl records, which makes the vibe even better. The hostess was so sweet and welcoming, and the whole place had a relaxed, chill atmosphere. We enjoyed some really good wine, great music, and just took our time unwinding. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend checking it out!

Great space and lounge. Friendly service. Great selection of wine and snacks. My husband and I had a great date night here.

I've been on a vinyl bar kick for quite a while and have many places in my list to checkout. This spot is black owned and creeped into my social media algorithm and they were having a sweet potato pie popup as an extra incentive to roll through. Granted it's located in Alameda where revitalization of the old air force base is happening I thought to give it a try. Upon entry, I felt the love, cool folks, nice music dancing in the air and overall great vibes. Seating was limited inside as it's more of an L shaped situation happening. That being said, there was plenty of seating outside which is shared with the brewery just next door. Would suggest arriving early if special events are happening and you would like to sit inside. The wine offerings include champagnes, whites and reds and have different serving sizes/price points which are measured by the ounce. This was a bit weird for me in that I would rather have the prices based just on either a single glass, carafe and/or bottle. The wines we tried were good but for the money I've had more generous servings at other wine bars and cafes.

I stopped in at VINYL for their Grand Opening last weekend. Black, woman owned business Good vibes! Busy night. Clean and quaint space, right next door to Humble Sea brewing. DJ was spinning as soon as we walked in Tasted 2 red wines. ordered a glass of Petrussa Cabernet Charcuterie only, if you want a bite. Support Black business! Wishing VINYL much success! I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Food--few snacks available (chips, cheese box, almonds) so eat before or after. Service--greeting with a smile as I walked through the door. Very friendly and attentive. Ambiance--chill vibe, trendy decor No LPs spinning at the time but cool tunes playing.

They have a regular food vendor on site and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry but if I was, I would have definitely ordered. I actually think of going back to this place. The first time I visited, I was only expecting to have a simple drink or two and it turned into a 2 hour adventure; drinking and chatting it up with the patrons here. The selection is great too! Once you're seated inside, you can imagine you're in just about any rustic wine region kicking back with some local wines and people. I did the sparkling wine flight. I really enjoyed what I tasted (see photo). I think because there was going to be a Georgian food pop up, the kitchen wasn't as it usually is. I had a little board of brillant savarian triple cream and salchichon salami. What a treat! The service was unusual. Part of it is that it's a wine bar and shop. The person staffing the bar was really busy doing many different things. As that was the case, interacting felt a bit strained. At the same time, considering how much she had going on, she kept it together. I appreciated that she kept track of who was next. Something that stood out to me was how reasonably priced the wines are. Great "bang for the buck." I see myself being a regular.

The atmosphere is cozy and casual and the service staff are really friendly. In terms of food, we started with a dozen oysters, the smoked trout dip, and the boquerones. The smoked trout dip was outstanding!!! Loved the flavor of it! The Boquerones was also delicious... the oysters were all fresh and can be ordered with horseradish and hot sauce (I think it was Crystal). For mains we ordered the steamed mussels and the grilled shrimp. The mussels were good, though on the smaller side, and the shrimp was delicious, buttery and garlicky. Great combo! To finish I had the Key Lime Pie which was done in a bowl. Great lime flavor and not overly sweet. Overall, a fantastic experience and we will definitely return!

We just spent $178 on some great drinks and food, but the most lasting memory is the cloud of cigar smoke wafting over us. And then arriving back home, we found our cloths reeked of cigar smoke. We sit outside when we eat out because we are still mindful of respiratory issues and, as I'm already dealing with long term health issues, I don't need to complicate matters by raw-dogging air by eating indoors. The strange thing is they apparently allow cigar smoking outside where they serve food, yet they closed their door because of cigar smoke coming inside the restaurant? Really? There's no point in my reviewing food beyond just saying it was great. Everything just got tainted by smoke. And this from a group of guys who were not even eating but just watching the game outside on a tv in the restaurant window. BTW, I asked the staff about the smoke and the server shrugged and said "Smoking is allowed outside." Do better District. Till then, bye.
