My friend and I booked a table at Kaza Maza weeks in advance and were very excited to visit. Because my friend has a tree nut allergy, we explicitly informed the staff upon ordering and asked them to check our dishes. We were confidently assured the food was completely nut-free and that extra care would be taken. However, this was not the case. My friend always tests her food first, and after a single bite, she suffered an allergic reaction. When we alerted the staff to this issue, their response was shocking. Instead of checking if she was okay, they immediately became defensive and accusatory, asking "Why do you not want to pay?". We were insulted, accused of lying, and confronted by a staff member who aggressively argued it wasn't their fault. We ultimately had to pay the bill in full for food we could not and did not eat, just so we could leave. I am shocked by such poor and defensive service. To be made to feel at fault after such a frightening and vulnerable event is completely unacceptable. To prioritize a bill over a customer's life and deny a mistake when there was an active allergic reaction is appalling and dangerous. If you have food allergies, please avoid this establishment for your own safety. read more

I came to this location because one of my friends has three kids, and it's hard to find a spot that you won't disturb people when they're running around lol they all got smoothies. If you are looking to go here for a drink less than an hour before closing DO NOT BOTHER. My girlfriend and I arrived at 10:15 on Sunday after looking at the website which said that they close at 11:00 looking to celebrate an anniversary. Initially we were greeted at the front and told we could only sit on the bar, despite there being multiple tables open. We were then seated at the bar where there multiple leftover plates of food and drink with no one seated there. Seconds after sitting down at the bar, we were denied service and told that there weren't enough staff to serve us despite there being a group of 5-6 staff conversing just feet away from us and other tables being actively served bottles. Beautiful view, beautiful ambiance, beautiful lighting. Was really looking forward to a drink with a view to finish up the night, but was left feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. read more

This place was advertised on Yelp while I was looking for a breakfast spot near our hotel by Concordia. We were on our way out of town so didn't mind a drive for breakfast. I almost always ignore the ads but something about this place looked cute enough to try. The croissants were fresh; they made for nice light breakfast sandwiches, and the almond croissant was the best I've ever had. I regret to report that this was one of the worst lunch experiences I've had in a long time. I was really looking forward to visiting this cute n' new spot in the neighbourhood and was sorely disappointed. The service was unapologetically slow and laissez-faire to an utterly frustrating point; we ordered our $7 sandwiches in an mostly-empty resto and, no joke, twenty minutes later the cook comes finds us on the terrasse to tell me they're entirely out of my sandwich contents. No worries. I order a fancy grill cheese in lieu. When it arrives, another fifteen minutes later, I receive the sandwich version of a pressed wet fart (with onions). Nothing drives me more bonkers than a $7 half-inch thick sandwich with zero accompaniments (I'm not even sure I got a napkin). As well, as another commenter mentioned, getting water here is like pulling teeth. The only redeeming bit about this place is that it is adorable. That's it. read more

This place has reached out to the not only those living in the neighbourhood but also those working here! The food is fresh, yummy, and reasonably priced. A recent discovery of mine, it was a lovely lunch/brunch. You can make it a boozy brunch with their assortment of cocktails (I did not partake) or stick to coffee or tea. Their latte of the month was fantastic and had many dairy free milk options. They also have a selection of vegetarian/vegan options and make their own vegepaté! Saturday brunch. Burnt coffee undrinkable. Asked for water 3 times (3 times!!) and then it was tepid and in tiny glasses. Sausages were almost inedible and really cheap. Salads on the website not on the menu. Eggs barely cooked. If those 2 very small pieces of dried (not toasted) bread was what passes for toast I'm the pope. No condiments offered for the potatoes. My dining companion told you they were Celiac and you still put a muffin on the plate, a corn muffin granted but they told you no bread. Scorching hot day and no AC so the inside was boiling but the outside tables didn't have enough chairs, no salt or pepper. Wanted to like the place for my dining companion who said they knew one of the owners but I will never go back there. read more

What I've seen and tried here have been SO good. I had a muffin that was some kind of molasses and cranberry creation and it was perfect...coffee is great too. The owner is so friendly and she obviously created her cafe with great taste because the style is so ... Stylish? And cute and cozy. Can't wait to be studying here during school. read more
