During my last visit to Montreal, I stopped in the other Tommy's location. This time, my apartment was closer to this location. Hands down this is the Tommy's to go to. The place is beautiful and intimate. The service was great too. I placed an order for Lox and my fiancé ordered Le Bene. The bread was unreal! So fluffy and baked to perfection. This spot was a few feet away from our hotel in Old Montreal so I decided to pop in for an early morning breakfast. Loved it. I was happy to find a cute spot that passed the vibe test and had some unique menu options. I went with an avocado toast minus the bacon and of course.... the Lucky Charms Latte. Coming from Australia, the unavailability of iced water was actually a plus for me also. Every morning I start my day with a wonderful chai. I can not speak about food as I have never eaten here. I can speak about the people. My review is honestly just in the feeling I get from the women that have helped me. They are welcoming and friendly. They care about serving exactly what I want. We stopped by here TWICE during our trip to Montréal. We had first heard of the cafe because of the Lucky Charms latte and were so glad it met our expectations. DRINKS I had expected it to be too sweet, but it was just right. For the base syrup, you have the option of caramel, hazelnut, or vanilla, and the drink is topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with the cereal in question. It's so simple but so good. FOOD We shared a smoked salmon bagel on sesame and were not impressed. It was kind of languid as the salmon was cool and the bagel hot post-toast, and it just did not mesh well. It was also on the saltier side than I would have liked. AMBIANCE The cafe's a little more towards the rowdier side as people come in to catch up with friends, and it's a hotspot for tourists, but I saw a good number of people coming in here to work/study. If you want it to be a little quieter when working, I'd come in the morning, as post 10am, it starts getting pretty loud. read more

My husband and I are from California and traveled to Montreal for a weekend. We tried this place as a random pick based on having a variety of healthy options since I'm pregnant and didn't want to walk far from the hotel. OMG the food was delicious!!! OMG ended up here because most places were closed and so didn't have a ton of expectations. The food is freaking amazing. The staff were really warm. Little sis had the Haloumi panini - A-MA-Zing! I was so excited to try Tommy and was very intrigued by their menu. Upon entering, the decor was beautiful and the staff was very kind. We were seated quickly and ordered our drinks and food. While we received our drinks, almost 40 minutes passed and we did not receive our food. After inquiring, we were told that our bill was "misplaced" and they could make our food within 4 minutes. We declined and ended up paying for the drinks, which were graciously discounted by the restaurant. Stopped by after spending the day sightseeing in old Montreal. To my surprise the food was really good. We ordered the spicy tuna sandwich and the chicken salad, side of their potatoes. Everything was beyond good. The tuna was so delicious it remind me of the one from back home, Mediterranean tuna. The bread was exceptionally fresh and crunchy, with caramelized cheese on it. We also ordered the build your own mimosa bottle. It was really good. Just be aware they will stop seating people way before 6pm to give them enough time to serve their last table. Review for COFFEE/latte: unfortunately it was very bitter and not made with fresh roasted beans and/or coffee machine isn't kept well. For better or worse, I've lived in great coffee cities that refine your palate, and when I end up with coffee like this it gets tossed in the garbage after a few sips and $7(with tip). I come to Tommy sometimes because it's near my work and my friend likes it a lot. It's a cutely decorated and airy cafe restaurant that makes some tasty food. The last time I came here I had the salty french toast which is two pieces of french toast with bacon and eggs. It's simple, but good. The bacon was cooked well and the french toast wasn't anything too interesting but it was solid and good with maple syrup. I've also tried the vegetable sandwich, which was tasty but super oily and could have used a bit of salt, a turkey sandwich and the breakfast croissant sandwich. The food here is good but the value is a bit lacking for me. I find it to be quite expensive for what it is, which is well done but simple food. I understand it's in Old Port, but there are some better value options for lunch in the area, such as Titanic, Pave, Bello or Pub St. Pierre. Its a nice looking spot and I continue to come here with my friend, but I probably wouldn't just come here on my own. read more

We were in Montreal for vacation a couple of weeks ago and I (not my boyfriend) absolutely fell in love with this place. It's such a cute, cosy, airy, eclectically-designed, and beautiful cafe. Now be warned, the reason why my boyfriend wasn't a big fan was because of the SLOW service. Both times, it took over 40 minutes to get our lox bagels. The place was busy, but 40 minutes for bagels was a very long time. Despite the long waits, I really enjoyed my coffees (especially the Cubano), and the great vibes. Both my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our bagels (once we eventually go them). The salmon quality was great and flavourful, bagels were fresh (wouldn't expect less from a Montreal style bagel), and the cream cheese was perfect. I really wish I could take Tommy's bagels and transport it to Toronto with me. MUST GET: lox bagels and the Cubano! Won't disappoint, as long as you're willing to wait... read more
