The staff are the most welcoming people, very nice and always checking in on you to make sure everything is ok. The food on the other hand was basic. We ordered two homemade crepes, one stuffed with spinach and formage and the other with Nutella. Yes the crepes are homemade there but definitely would've liked it better if my spinach was cooked beforehand. It was a crepe with a thin layer of raw spinach and sadly the cheese barely melted too. The Nutella crepe was good. Also ordered the cappuccino and smoothie, which was delicious. Overall the service was great, food was nothing to swoon over. read more

Stopped by for breakfast before heading to airport on latest trip to Montreal. The employees truly are the main reason to visit. All were welcoming and super friendly. I appreciate how easily they were able to accommodate the fact we spoke English only :) I ordered the Complet and while it was not my favorite breakfast (the sausages and ham were quite different than what I'm used to as an American and I felt it was a bit lacking in flavor) Overall the meal was very filling and ingredients seemed fresh. WONDERFUL! Cafe Lulu is a cute little corner place in the Village with extraordinarily friendly people behind the counter and excellent and delicious food! We enjoyed breakfast two days in a row - both very good. Coffee is always better outside of the US - scrumptious and sumptuous and delicious Caffe Macchiato! The first day we had a fresh ham, swiss, and asparagus crepes and a chocolate croissant. The second visit we had a delicious egg, ham and cheese croissant and a delicious blueberry crumble bar. The food case is busting with a variety of tasty breakfast and lunch treats - most we didn't have time to try but I'm sure just as great as what we did have. Highly recommend a stop here! read more

Did always pass in front but never stopped before so decided to give them a try this morning for breakfast and definitely not disappointed.As much as they got a really small menu as much as it's a classical little Café bistro which make good sandwich. As for my part I took 2 Croissandwich ham and cheese and and they were delicious.Also staff was super sweet and helpful and love that their menu is written on a chalkboard. I can see why people like Café Lulu so much. The service is stellar: friendly, helpful, and during my meal I saw several instances of the staff just going above and beyond. They were patient with tourists who didn't speak French, which says a lot in Montreal. I ordered a crepe with creme de pistache, which turned out to be a pistachio paste with the consistency of Nutella but a deeper and nuttier flavor. It was delicious! A great little cafe at Beri UQAM! It's very casual and not too expensive. The service is always super nice and quick and the food is fresh. The last time I went I had the spinach and cheese crepe with added ham. It came with pesto which was unexpected but a great addition. I also had a strawberry banana smoothie which was nice and perfect for the hot day. My friend had a salmon bagel which looked nice as well. This place, and its owner Fade, are absolutely fantastic. We walked in having been roundly ignored down the road at St. Hubert. Having struck out and chicken, we went with eggs instead. Fade whipped up some great omelettes...and I mean great...exactly as we ordered them. We sat for a time having dinner and watching the world go by outside, then decided to stick around for a little longer. We had flourless chocolate cake for dessert, which was superb too. The food was all great, but it was the vibe of the place and the kindness of Fade that made it worthwhile. He told us he was from Lebanon, and in Montreal for 25 years now. His English was great, and his French seemed to be too, given what I heard of it with the others in the place. This was the first time in a bunch of days in Montreal that anyone tried to make me feel at home, though, and I appreciated it beyond measure. You should come here if you have the chance.
