This is a huge apartment complex and you might expect a cold corporate feel to the building. However the staff here have been warm and welcoming and make it feel like an actual community. It has made living here so much more enjoyable. That goes for everyone from the front desk/lobby staff to the security and the maintenance people. Truly appreciate them.

I am thoroughly enjoying my early retirement here at AMLI and feel like I'm at a secluded luxury vacation resort every day. I plan to make this my forever home after living in Beverly Hills and Bel-Air my entire life, AMLI wins hands down. One of the most impressive aspects of AMLI is the exceptional tenant care and genuine kindness from the spectacular staff who we fondly refer to as our AMLI FAMLI. Before I rave about my overall experience as a tenant, I would be remiss not to take a moment to recognize and express my sincere gratitude to the "entire" AMLI staff. My dedicated Leasing Agent, Christhel, always greets me with her bright joyful smile even on her worst day. She takes great pride in promptly satisfying me without fail and consistently goes above and beyond to exceed my expectations which has further enhanced my experience exponentially. I have also worked with Bridgette, Vanessa, Glenda, and Naja who are all very special and extremely helpful as well.   Last but certainly not least is Jeremy who oversees the complex and its nearly 600 apartment units. Jeremy is the captain of the ship and leads by example. For those of you who have managed your own homes, imagine managing nearly 600 apartment homes, not an easy job by any means. Jeremy tackles every issue utilizing his highly impressive problem-solving and managerial skills, always executing with superior professionalism and kindness. There is no shortage of fun adventurous activities at AMLI. A typical day for me includes a light breakfast and coffee on one of my two waterfront balconies, workout at our "Equinox-esque" three story Fitness Center, swim at one of our heated saltwater pools, hot tub, healthy lunch at The Hive on property, bike ride to the beach, my favorite out-of-body sunset sailing adventures, unwind on my balconies, culminating with a short stroll to one of my regular fine dining spots in the neighborhood. I no longer feel the need to take nearly as many vacations and have saved a tremendous amount of money as a result. If you are considering moving to the marina or anywhere on the westside for that matter, look no further. I thoroughly researched the entire westside and Marina del Rey marketplaces for years before I made my final decision to call AMLI my home. Do yourself a favor and schedule a no obligation tour with the leasing office today just in time for summer although year-round living is also pure heaven! If you have any questions concerning AMLI from a tenant's perspective, I have plenty of free time, please feel free to text me at (310) 801-6088 and I'll be happy to help you, or call the leasing office. Best of luck on your new life journey! Mahalo .... James

I've been waiting for the right time to bring my story about living in the Laguna Del Rey…read moreapartments to life. During the first year of my living there, I was very happy to be able to walk the beach near by with my dog and come home to a peaceful environment. I moved in the year of 2019 until 2023. The senior manager wasn't friendly at all. And that was known and felt by many who lived in the building. I once had to pay her $25.00 after misplacing the keys to my apartment to get inside. The maintenance crew lived on the property so they were available in case of emergency. However the appliances were old so the need for maintenance was frequent. All that being said I would not recommend living there if you are living alone, single as a woman. I was being harassed by the contracted workers. (See attached photos), who were often hired by the management company. With my agreement they were allowed entry into my apartment when I was there. The problem began and seemed start due to a communication issue between users of two different languages. I began asking them questions about the process they were using to repair my balcony and apparently they didn't like that. The reason for my warning for single women is because of what happened next to me. Imagine coming home and seeing vulgarity written on your door. Not just writing but images of men's private body parts. The shock of seeing this sent me into a panic and immediately I notified the senior manager that I described previously in this thread and she rejected my complaint. Because of not seeing the person who did this I went off my gut feeling and intuition. There are no security cameras in this area of the building. She went on to suggest that my daughter may had done this denying that her maintenance crew would ever have. I could only assume she based her assumptions and blame on her because she was borderline autistic. Not knowing that my daughter had lost her life a few months earlier. And that experience is not just offensive but scary for not just a single woman but for anyone. I think that sums it up well.

Condos w/ a view: about $1/2 million and up. Houses w/ a view: about one million and up. And that is just for the smaller ones in (or near) this sleepy little beach community. So when I moved here in 2002, I rented a lil 1-bdrm for $1650. Today it's $2400! That is how popular a beach view still is. It is rent controlled at least. Built in '70s. Additionally you get a lagoon and wildlife to stroll along (lagoon on W side and the wetlands on the east). Amenities include laundry rooms, pool, jacuzzi, weight room, reading room, and two sundecks that look over the marina and canal to ocean (perfect for watching fireworks & boat shows all year). It is a quiet neighborhood with friendly people. *** Cons: price, airplane noise and no pets. ***

The area is quiet and feels safe. Shopping, movie theater, Whole Foods close by, airport and the beach of course! Maintenance requests are via the app which is convenient. I definitely am thankful I get to live here. It feels more like a resort almost than an apartment complex. The staff is working to improve the property and keep it looking great More to come!

Maintenance/utility staff were actually kind and helpful, but they can't compensate for how poorly the leasing office treats residents. Two things stood out: Renewal/extension communication came late, and it felt intentional: like the goal was to give me the least time possible so rent could be raised as much as possible. Move-out charges were outrageous even though I cleaned the apartment carefully. The charges felt less like "normal wear and tear" and more like a cash grab. This is not what you expect when you're paying around $4K/month. If you choose this place, document everything in writing and take photos/video at move-in and move-out.
