I want to share my positive experience living at 3838 by CLG for nearly seven years and specifically recognize our new apartment manager, Ellison. He is truly the best manager I have ever had--kind, approachable, highly responsive, and consistently quick to resolve any issues. I really appreciate having a manager who is dependable and treats residents with respect. I have really enjoyed my time here. My unit is fantastic, especially with the spacious layout, large walk-in glass shower, generous walk-in closet, and in-unit washer and dryer. The building amenities--including the gym, game room, and the rooftop jacuzzi, barbecue, and patio area with great views--are also wonderful features. Additionally, I have lived in Culver City for over 20 years. It is a small, safe, and growing community. I especially enjoy being able to walk to the downtown area for the restaurants, shops, and park, as well as local spots like Big Sal's, a sandwich shop open until 3 a.m. It is a wonderful place to live. Overall, I have had a very positive experience living here, and I am especially grateful to have such a wonderful manager. This building is exceptional; I have actually lived in two CLG buildings and this was truly a serene living experience. I chose CLG twice because of its attention to detail, the positive community vibe of living, and the pristine quality apartments and amenities. Also an incredible location in downtown Culver City, my coworkers are always shocked when I tell them where I live (and somewhat jealous haha). Sandy is truly an exceptional manager; I actually had her as my manager twice in both buildings and she made both experiences absolutely top notch (and I have lived in London)! I have lived all over the West Coast (Bay Area, Oregon, etc) & abroad and she is literally the best manager. CLG in general also is very quick to respond with needs and help, and in both buildings maintenance was extremely quick and responsive. My favorite parts about 3838 are the view, the newness of facilities (brand new), personal parking, convenience of mail/package delivery, and as they say "location, location, location". Venturing on a new living venture with a family member, I recently had to depart 3838, but CLG will always be in my heart as a hugely positive bright spot in my living experiences and adventures in LA. read more

Ashley made the application and move in process very easy. She even offered information about local restaurants and shops that we found extremely helpful in our first weeks. There was a problem with our air conditioner and Ashley made sure we had a portable AC unit installed until ours could be fixed. Beautiful building, but Ashley puts it over the top! We recently lost our house in the Palisades Fire and were scrambling to find a place. We were lucky enough that CLG offered us a place and the amazing Ashley took care of this. During a super tough time Ashley welcomed us with open arms along with the rest of the staff. First of all--be aware, units in 3838 Dunn have no ovens. They do their best to distract you from this fact before signing a lease. It's not the end of the world but the "convection oven" option of the microwave does not make up for it. Rent was raised $500 after a year, but that's LA I guess. A few months into my lease, construction started on an addition, which caused unbelievable, pounding noise starting at 7:00am daily. Attempting to discuss any solutions resulted in nothing but threats from CLG--I was told "move out if you don't like it." When I did eventually move out, I left the unit pristine, despite the building manager and facilities manager telling me multiple times not to worry about it, and that they'd clean it anyway. Well, on receiving the refund for my deposit, it turns out they meant they would *charge* me for that, to the tune of $400. There was never any indication these charges were coming, nor that there was any way to avoid them. It's a real shame -- CLG builds architecturally attractive buildings with multiple good features but their management team have decided that the awful environment for renters in LA allows them to break tenant protection laws and steal from tenants. Assume, if you rent here, you'll have a fine apartment, but will lose your deposit and any concerns will be met with disrespect at best. read more

Neighbor from across the street here. The mgmt in 3838 is terrible. They have had a smoke alarm low battery beep going off for weeks now in the parking garage. Because it's in the parking garage it echos. I can't open my windows because of the incessant beeping and it is so loud My building mgmt team has tried to call as well and every time they say oh yes we'll get right on it. And then nothing is fixed. I canNOT imagine if you had actually had to live there. read more

The manager at the leasing office is absolutely unprofessional and non transparent. I have rented so many in the past with e-sign rentals but wow what a nightmare. They are never there to answer any calls and communication is only done via. email. I must have ended up with so many email exchanges that it got really confusing at the end. Application process will not let you finish unless you pay $500 plus processing fee of $15, separate from application fee. This already seemed odd but I didn't think much of it at that time since I was sure to move in. Trouble started during the lease contract signing, it was so confusing with so many extra/unnecessary forms and charges which made me feel like i had to jump through the hoops to be accepted. My credit score is high and had sufficient funds to cover the whole year of the rent but they requested whole year's of additional income proofs. I understood they had to be thorough but in the end, they canceled the lease due to a few missing initials. I was already upset they cancelled the lease without any sufficient explanation and they only allow wire transfer, no money order, no personal check AND we couldn't even do walk through the place unless we wire transfer deposit. This seemed definitely iffy for me. Overall I lost $515 and the lease was cancelled. This is the most traumatic experience ever, even felt racial discrimination !! Lesson learned that there are these kind of unprofessional leasing agents, i wouldn't even consider living here with lack of transparency and bad service. Yikes ! read more

My apartment has been better than my wildest dreams! The building is absolutely brand new and, while I did move in a bit before the final touches were finished, I needed a place ASAP and I'm glad they let me move in as soon as they did. Briana has been helping me with anything I need. Ashley saved me just last night when I moronically locked myself out of my apartment after 10 pm. If you want the absolute best value in LA for an incredibly nice apartment then this is the place. read more

Where to even start??? The first floor constantly smells like urine near the dog run. The elevators are broken every other week. There is dog urine in the elevators and the police have been here multiple times for criminal issues; this building is going straight downhill. Management changed recently and the woman in the leasing office is not responsive to resident needs, they don't fix basic things and they lie about charges and constantly try to nickel and dime you. Wish my lease were up so I could find a new place asap. If you're thinking of moving here, just don't. read more

Living in this building has been a complete disaster. The police are called to the building at least once a week because of noise complaints, or more recently, violence in the building. The dogs in the building are a whole other disaster. The dog park is covered in dog feces 95% of the time, no owners of dogs in the building put their dogs on leashes and I have personally been attacked by 3 different dogs in our building, each on multiple occasions. Management is well aware of all these issues and instead of doing their job, they give snarky comments, rude replies, or just ignore you all together. Do yourself a favor, find a different apartment building. read more

They had fun gathering for the residents as well as so classes in the small gym like HiT and some Yoga. I was asking them if they had any properties in Sacramento but the closes one would be in San Jose so I had to leave. I received a job off to work at Mathers VA Hospital. read more

We moved in around the end of February. The management here is great. Ashley is super cool and very responsive with any issues that you have. She completely sold us on our unit and it definitely has been worth it. Also, they are pretty clear with what they need from you and will respond timely. The layout of the units are also very efficient with little waste of open space. Also, the high ceilings are very nice and we love the industrial finish of our apartment(to suit our millennial aesthetics). Update: Moving out was a sad but great experience as well. The office let me borrow a dolly for a couple days while moving in and out. They also tried their best to accommodate all the little issues during our move out process. This place definitely was a great experience and Management has been very responsive/friendly. Definitely take a tour if you are interested in apartments in the area. read more

We moved in 9 months ago and we were one of the first few tenants in the building. Ashley and Vinny have both been so great from the start. Anytime we reach out to them for anything, they are super responsive and try to help us resolve any issues immediately. Ashley is also always checking in with us and goes above and beyond for all the tenants. They've had multiple events, such as a Sofar Sounds concert, for the tenants and Ashley will even cater herself (she's a great cook and knows how to throw a great event). Outside of having great people taking care of you, 3838 has amazing amenities. There's a nice rooftop, a dog run (a lot of tenants of pups), gym, and it's walking distance to downtown Culver. Also, there's going to be a ton of new things popping up in the area early next year which puts us in the prime location to explore! read more

After living here for a few months, I can say safely say this is by far the best rental experience I've had over the years. The building is brand new, well kept, and has high quality finishes. The location is superb, and walking distance from shops, restaurants, and bars. This is the first time I frequently use a building's amenities, such as a rooftop jacuzzi. What really stands out though, is the people that work here. Ashley has gone above and beyond on a daily basis to make sure everyone is happy. She is incredibly quick to respond, and any repairs or requests are resolved within minutes, not days. And guess what, this place has a dog run. Yes that's right, this place has a dog run I say, equipped with a washing station, and red fire hydrant! Ashley spent two full days cooking up a storm for all of the apartment tenants ( Beef bourguignon, chicken pesto pasta, brownies), hired a bartender, and had an incredible party for it's opening. I can't recommend this place enough. Ashley deserves a raise, a vacation, and some kind of medal. She turned this place from a great place to live, to the best place to live. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE! When I moved into this building the leasing manager was very accommodating and any concerns that came up felt like they truly cared. Especially when my first 6 months I had neighbors who would fight all day and cops came out multiple times. As soon as Sofia left it went downhill from there. Rent raised $800 in 2 years, major construction started with water being turned off all day at times with short notice, loud noises from Construction happening, the garage has also been broken into multiple times I've had 2 bikes stolen. The walls and floors are very thin in the bedroom you not only hear people next to you but also below and above you. They used to have a security guard at night but they do not anymore - raise the rent but get rid of expenses? Truly terrible. The building says dog friendly but they clean the dog run with bleach which causes rashes for animals and no one picks up their dog poop. The worst part of all of this was I spoke with the leasing manager about renewing my lease and my concerns with the construction, she said I can do 3 months to see how it goes and renew at the same rate for 9 more months if I decide and told me to remind her as if she was doing me a favor. That three months came up and the rent went up $325/month. I tried reaching other people from the property management company to discuss any of this but no one Wanted to listen just immediately shut me down. There are a ton of new buildings in the area offering great incentives I would not look at 3838 by clg. read more

I moved into 3838 the first weekend it was open and my experience over the past nine months has been outstanding. The building is well maintained, and both public spaces and individual apartments are beautiful. They have continued making improvements during this time, adding a dog run with washing station and parcel pending for package deliveries. The management is awesome, Ashley is always available and immediately responsive to take care of anything I need or to answer questions. I've not had too many issues with maintenance, but Vinny was able to fix a malfunctioning door lock quickly for me! I'm very happy to live here, the location is great and the management really takes care of things, listens to residents, and takes time to plan social activities. Ashley even cooked loads of food upon the opening of the dogpark! It's a great place to live! read more

We've lived here for about 7 months now and this review is well overdue. From having in unit washer and dryer to an open concept floor plans, this place has it all! There's a dog run, gym, package lockers, dipping pool, bbq grill, fire pits, and outdoor seating. This is a great place for professionals that don't want to be around rowdy people. It's pretty quiet considering it's convenient location. My husband and I walk to restaurants and farmers market near by. We really enjoy how the post office, major banks, yoga studios, and restaurants are all in walking distance. All newly built buildings, has their minor kinks they have to work through. It just part of moving into new buildings, but Ashley was quick to address them. Hands down, Ashley, our property manager, is nothing short of amazing. She's quick, responsive, and gets the job done right. Ashley has been sweet to our dogs and has gone to great lengths to make sure the building is safe for its tenants. I just moved in here two days ago and I am absolutely in love. The building is quiet and beautiful, and the best part about the building is the leasing office staff. Ashley, Michael and Dontrell (aka The Three Musketeers) have been amazing since the day we walked in to take a tour. I needed an additional shelf for the kitchen and three minutes after I sent the email, Michael was at my front door with the shelf. They are always available to answer questions and concerns. My wife and I just moved in and so far we love the place. We went with the cement floors and the larger open floor unit with one bedroom. Couldn't be happier. The amenities are perfect for us, and it's close to all the restaurants you could ask for. As for management.... I don't know what to tell you, this is as good as it gets. Briana and Ashley are top notch. They don't just want to sell you a unit, they want to make sure you're happy after you move in. Since day one they have been checking on us and really going above and beyond to make sure our unit is as best as can be. They have even offered to help us troubleshoot issues that probably go beyond their job description, like going after the internet folks to try and get our installation date sooner then scheduled. I've lived at 3838 for 6 months now and have nothing but great things to say about the property and management. Being a brand new building it is remarkably clean and up to date. All the appliances are very nice and the amenities like the gym and roof top lounge are great as well. Ashley has been the biggest help of all as the building and leasing manager. She is always accessible and responds almost instantly to any questions I have or help I need. She's always able to quickly resolve them as well... and with a smile of course! I know I'm in good hands with her and that makes living here all the better. This review wouldn't be complete with out a compliment to Vinny as well. He's been extremely attentive to any maintenance requests I might have, and he always makes sure the job is complete and I'm happy before he leaves. Anyone who's ever lived in an apartment complex knows you're always at the mercy of the management who runs it. There's a lot of apartment building/living centers in Culver City and the adjacent areas- plenty to choose from newer, older, cheaper, more expensive. We met Sophia Benmar and knew this was the place for us. We're so grateful for the warm, welcoming feeling we had. It's a modern place- floor to ceiling sunshine welcoming windows. Nice floors, everything works well, rooftop view is spectacular and you can walk to everything downtown and to two grocery stores. You feel like a resident of Culver here, and a resident of a great, safe community of apartment neighbors. The events they hold on the rooftop are genuine- it's not perfunctory. There's a true home/neighborhood community vibe here. The gym has more than everything you need. The whole process to move in was simple- and it was made pleasant and positive by a Sophia whom truly is the most professional, positive and caring person in this role I've ever met. After living at 3838 for over 7 months now, it's safe to say that things aren't changing. The building is brand new and has been kept clean and the management (Ashley and Vinny) have been the best I've ever experienced in an apartment building. From day one when we toured, Ashley was awesome, she happily showed us all of the different apartments (different layouts, same layouts but different floors, etc) that were available, answered all of our questions happily, and was straightforward about what we should expect. It only got better afterwards, whenever we had any issues, Ashley responded quickly and Ashley and Vinny tried to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. One such example of this was during the summer when we had a heatwave for the upcoming weekend (100+ degrees) and it was Friday late-afternoon (4:30 PM), I emailed Ashley notifying her that our A/C stopped working, she emailed back within minutes and shortly after, Vinny came up looking into the A/C, realized it was something that needed to be fixed by the A/C manufacturer, and came back with a portable A/C that we could use until Monday when the A/C manufacturer repair specialists could fix it. I don't have any complaints about 3838 - the building nor the management. I highly recommend staying here. Especially since Ashley makes sure everything is running smoothly and will always go out of her way to make sure we're happy. read more

However, the management team at this apartment complex addressed and surpassed my expectations - they took a beautiful complex, in a dynamic part of town and paired it with generous, genuine, and hardworking professionals. Ashley, Vinny, Dontrell, and Briana each work very hard to ensure that residents have everything that they need, that the resident's units exceed their expectations, and that residents have a comfortable home in the community. Ashley, however, deserves a special shout-out. At every turn, Ashley is available and ready to help a resident. I had some troubles with packages and a few things within my unit when I was moving in and Ashley attacked every problem efficiently, effectively, and without delay. We called ahead before going there nobody answered, they explained to us that they were crazy busy on Saturday. When I tried to connect to leasing office at the gate they wouldn't even open the door and told me they're closed! But it was even 6pm yet it was only 5:30pm!! Two ladies were at their office, I can tell they look really tired so I wasn't even asking them to give me a tour I only ask the exact price of their 1B1B and their co worker was super rude and keep telling me "that would be around 25xx to 27xx" and which wasn't accurate!! I was doing apartment tour for the whole day and never met any leasing officer behaving in this way!! Another officer named Ashley was much helpful and she still gave us a tour even she's very tired and ready to get off. I'm appreciated. After all, i wouldn't consider their building since I can't image dealing with that kind of "irresponsible" officer. read more
