The atmosphere on the inside is completely different than what you might expect from looking at it from outside. The ambiance is simple, but relaxing. My wife and I have enjoyed trying to find authentic Mexican foods all through Canada in the United States since our honeymoon there, along with subsequent trips. This is the real deal. In talking to them, they make all of their food from scratch on site. My wife had the gringos, which was basically a quesadilla on a corn tortilla. The toppings were amazing and fresh, with all of the salsa that you could want ready for you on each table. I had the barbecoa tacos on 6" corn tortillas. They came out, double wrapped, with the beef as tender as you can imagine. The salsa Verde was an excellent topping along with the pico de gallo. Along with the standard Jaritos, they also had Mexican Coke. If you haven't tried it, you won't realize the difference that came sugar makes! We were so sad that we were only here for a day, as we would have loved to have been able to come back and try more options. However, this is probably our best option for tacos that we have outside of Mexico. You will not be disappointed! read more

The tacos were super fresh and tasty. It was perfect for anyone who has a time crunch for lunch. It is an authentic Mexican restaurant which has a market corner to fill your pantry. They serve dinner also. I ordered the individual taco - one was Chicken - Tinca, and one was Pork - Al Pastor. Both were really good, but I liked the pork one which has some flavourful spices mixed with pineapple. The chicken one was shredded chicken breast with a homemade adobo of chipotle and onion. The freshness was also from plenty of fresh cilantro. 2 types of hot sauce in a bottle were provided for the tacos. I could easily have 3 or 4 of these tacos, but I didn't have the time. They have a total of 7 protein choices in chicken, pork, beef and soy. If you like tacos, their taco platter would be a great choice. It comes with side dishes to try out. They also have the must-try Guacamole and salsa with fresh corn chips. Burritos and soup are available, too. For dessert, they make fresh churros. The server was very friendly and helpful. We stopped on our way through town, knowing that Mexican restaurants are often a place we can get gluten free options. We were able to discuss our dietary needs with our friendly server who double checked with the chef and made sure all was safe to eat! And it was really delicious food! Stopped in with my wife and daughters for some drinks and food. Got a table for 5 in under 10 minutes which was great as the place was starting to fill up. The menu was not huge but had most of the standards and we all found something we wanted. Had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes to order but the drinks arrive fairly soon after. Both the Margaritas and Mojitos were great so we were excited for the food but it was a long time coming. Tables seated after us were already served but our food was nowhere to be seen. Over a hour since we sat down some of the dishes started to arrive but only 4 of the 5 were served. We waited a few minutes and finally flagged one of the servers down to inquire about the 5th plate. We were informed it was on the way and 20 minutes later it finally arrived. After sitting for over an hour our drinks were long empty, but no-one had come by to ask if we wanted another or refill our water. As for the food, it was quite run of the mill, nothing fantastic here, not awful but, nothing memorable. When the bill arrived, there was no apology for the delay, we were not asked how our meal was, just handed the full bill with a request for a tip. I asked for a printed copy but the machine was out of paper, so I waited again while it was reloaded. Finally I received a copy of the bill. But, as I sat down to write this review I realize it is someone else's, they could not even get that right. Update July 1, 2025 Received a response from the " Restaurant management team" which was obvious Chat GPT or some other AI. No attempt to resolve the issues or regain out trust. Oh man! This is the place to come for amazing tacos! And it's in Osoyoos, BC! If you want authentic, fresh, delicious tacos for a reasonable price....this is the place to try them. My absolute personal favorite are the beef tacos. The beef is tender, fresh and has the perfect bbq char with cilantro and red onion. However, they have several selections. My next favorite would be the pork with pineapple, which has pineapple and cinnamon spices along with the cilantro and onion. They also have chicken, spicy pork and even beef tongue if you are really adventurous (super tender and delicious). They also always include a selection of various spicy sauces, two homemade, and a few bottled. I have now come here several times and keep wanting to try the burrito and quesadillas but feel like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! For lunch on Saturday I had three 6-inch tacos--one al pastor, one pollo asado, and one carne asada -- with fried cheese and a side of guacamole. My husband got the posole (pork and hominy soup). Everything was adeptly prepared by someone(s) who clearly know what they're doing; it was all super delicious. I can't pick which of my three tacos was best; they were all scrumptious and different enough to one another to make lunch interesting. The al pastor pork had pineapple in, which was a new one on me, and I'm voting Yes on it. The guac was ideal, literally; it was a 10/10 match for what I consider perfect guacamole. The posole was beautifully crafted; really, it all was. If I lived near here, I'd be a happy regular customer. I got a popsicle made of local peaches, nectarines and apricots for dessert, which was delightful -- tasty and not too sweet. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The newly opened La Marquesa Mexican restaurant is an absolute jewel in the desert. It is possibly the best Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten in. The restaurant has expanded into a larger venue and after eating there I understand why. The menu is diverse and authentic and the service is excellent. I'm not usually a fan of Mexican food but La Marquesa has converted me. If you're not a fan of spicy food, (I'm not) the customer can add the heat as required. Even on an incredibly busy night the service was friendly and we never felt rushed to get in and get out. This is a restaurant that is comfortable for couples and families Oh....and try out the beef tongue on the taco menu. I know it sounds weird but it was fantastic. read more

Fantastic Mexican place in osoyoos. We came on the recommendation from friends who went there couple days before. Tacos and burritos were delicious and service was quick. I had the taco platter, al pastor and one beef tongue, which came with two tacos, Mexican rice and refried beans. I preferred al pastor over beef tongue as it seemed to have more flavour. Others in the group had tostada and burrito and they both came with raving reviews from those who had them. It is definitely must come back spot next time we are Osoyoos. Side note, they have Mexican market place as well and j was able to pick up some hot sauce and achiote paste for my future culinary adventure. read more

Good Mexican food. Came here for lunch. I had the burrito bowl with chicken which was very tasty. COVID friendly. Server wore a face mask and washed everything down. As soon as we finished with the menu she took it away to wash down again. Tables were cleared and sanitized straight away after people left. read more

This taco stand is amazing! Stand meant as a compliment! Very authentic Mexican food. A small soup and 3 tacos were a hearty meal. Wanted the pozole soup but they were out so tried the menudo soup. Very thick (for typical Mexican) and spicy. Made with tripe which isn't my favourite texture so I put those aside and thoroughly enjoyed the menudo soup. I generally like spicy food but after and during the soup I ate the tacos and stayed with lime and a mellow green salsa. The soup was very dominant. I was thinking I would be a critic and ask for more lime as I was only given one thin slice but I was enjoying everything so much I thought I would just enjoy everything as they were. Then the great staff came by cleaning up and asked if I needed anything like more salsa or lime. So I did end up getting my extra lime intitiated by them. I enjoyed the food flavour in my mouth (the menudo soup) so much, I delayed finishing my beer so I could savour the aftertaste! Highly recommend it. read more

This was by far the best Mexican food I have ever had and believe me I have had lots! I had the chicken quesadilla and my son had chicken tacos. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. We both had the combo with rice and re fried beans and I couldn't get enough. I don't know what they made it with but it was fantastic. If I had to complain it was I need way more on the plate!
