Trying very hard to be positive about local businesses and eateries. Spirit Beach was a definite fail today. After 25 minutes I decided to go to the bar and get our drinks, I asked if I could order drinks and the bar tender said "ask your server" with the owner right beside him. I replied and said, the server has 11 tables and she is all alone! So to his remorse he reluctantly served me. 20 min later they finally added another server and 30 min later we got our cold food! So an hour and 15 to get cold food. The owner was there and it mystifies me why he couldn't walk into the "hot zone" and start serving?? Lead by example, you have 2.5 months to make 12 months revenue!!? We won't go back. The food is at best, marginal. read more

As much as I love the spot and the view, the service here was horrible. I ordered the cantina burger with a caesar - caesar was inexpensive and delicious and came fast, but the burger took 30 minutes. We also didn't get helped for 45 minutes after sitting down. Yikes. The food is okay and the restaurant has a laid back, beachy vibe. (maybe why the service was so slow - everyone was just chilling) I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more

While travelling through the interior, we enjoyed a dinner at Spirit Ridge Cantina last night so much we went back for lunch today. In the last two days we've enjoyed their pork tacos, steak tacos, cheese quesadillas, chicken burrito, nachos with chicken, chicken tacos and cod tacos, along with a treat of iced tea for the kids and red sangria for Mom and Dad. All of the food has been outstanding, although consensus is that the pork tacos were the top order over the two days. I had the steak last night and the cod today. While the steak was good, I should have trusted the waitress and run with the cod tacos last night: they were tasty and satisfying without being heavy. She also warned us about the chicken burrito's spice for our eldest which was very considerate. If you're going to enjoy a Corona in the Osoyoos summer heat, seriously consider the bucket of 5 for $25 as it is a significant price break. Both meals on the last 24 hours were outstanding and we will be back - possibly even on this trip! read more

It was ok. But was annoying was the waitress coming out and saying.... "The chef accidentally made burgers instead of smokies" is that ok?" Unbeknownst to her we heard the chef say "we are out of smokies." So to straight up lie to your customers is really no appropriate. They did give us a discount on the burgers, but if they are willing to lie about that, then what else could they lie about? The drinks were also super expensive. There frozen cocktails were $11! I am going to give 2 stars ONLY because of the atmoshere/setting along the beach and the fact that according to the Osoyoos Visitors Center, it is the only known dog friendly lunch spot "in town". If you are not staying at the campground where this is located, parking is almost nonexistent. Service is reluctant at best, even when prompted. Prices are over the top ridiculous (even with the US exchange rate 2 street taco plates & 2 drinks $53.03 Canadian ) and completely unwarranted. A taco truck would have charged no more than $1.25 per taco and these were $4+ each, with one plate not even being served "no onions", as requested. The drinks were daiquiri variations with very little , budget rum at $10.50 each. We heard the nightlife is fun , but don't waste your time & money unless that is all you are looking for. read more

Best little secret in Osoyoos! Casual "California" style bistro. Very good food and genuine local service. Two rows of counter bars face the lake with several tables for larger groups. Great place to kick back and enjoy drinks, the lake, the sun and all Osoyoos has to offer. Don't go expecting high end or fancy food. This is a cafe on a camp ground. Well worth the trip! read more

I wish there was a rating less than zero. Drove half an hour, waited 45 minutes to get a seat, While none of the staff seem to care that the restaurant was half full of people sitting around not eating or drinking. Finally got seated only to find out they had run out of guacamole which was why we drove half an hour. Very poor signage, down a dirt road in an RV Campground. Five thumbs down. Also there is no parking near the so called restaurant. read more
