    Salmon

After reading the great safety reviews, and seeing the quality of ingredients on the menu, we chose to eat here. NO REGRETS! The food was not only carefully prepared with a gluten allergy in mind (menu clearly marked as gluten free), and the server very diligent to check on other questions, but the food was EXCELLENT!! We had the salmon with wild rice and warm kale salad, and my wife had the vegan salad. They also did the Bannick & Spread appy with GF toast as a substitute. This is upscale dining with high quality food, service, and a deck view that does not disappoint! What a gem! Their service was excellent and attentive! I came for breakfast and when I asked if they could substitute the rye bread on my avocado toast with their signature bannock, they were able to do that for me without charge. Their drinks were also phenomenal and well flavored. It was a peaceful and calm restaurant in the morning with a variety of dining spaces.

Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and amazing food. We were so lucky to reserve a same day booking at this fine establishment. Nice selection of local wines and a variety of mouth watering dishes on the dinner menu including a few share plates. We ordered the cauliflower bibs & bobs salad, Salish clams, and husk grilled salmon steak. Each dish was lovely in presentation and extremely delicious. For the last course we indulged in having Lost in the Forest, a decadent Black Forest inspired dessert with Okanagan cherries. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We organized a family brunch while at our stay in Osoyoos at The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry It was a party of 12 with three kids The restaurant is located at the picturesque Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos which overlooks the valley and the lake Funny enough we got our bartender, Kenzie, from a wedding reception the night before as our server for our brunch Her service and friendliness was top notch We decided to eat outside The patio overlooks the pool and the valley which you can get some lovely pictures taken. We certainly took advantage of that I ordered a freshly pressed apple juice It was so yummy Almost like an apple cider The restaurant provided complimentary various baked danishes which was certainly nice and tasty We ordered a bannock spread for the table Bannock bread is probably now my favourite bread in the world. The fried crispy of the bread was like eating fried chicken and they give you four dips in a tomato and sumac type salsa dip, a stewed tomato dip, a white bean with sumac dip and finally a corn succotash dip. All four were amazing and definitely recommend this as part of brunch I had the chicken and waffles Delectable and really tasty The cornbread waffles was a really nice add Sweet and savoury My wife and sister-in-law had the banana bread French toast For those who like sweet I'd definitely go with this My father-in-law had the venison burger The burger didn't survive for long on his plate He mentioned that it was very good and not tough at all My brother-in-laws and sister-in-law and my wife's uncle had the bennies My two brother-in-laws had the beetroot salmon Benny where the salmon is soaked in beetroot juice The Benny is served on fried bannock bread They were very good Overall an awesome experience and would definitely recommend this place for brunch while in Osoyoos

We spent a whole week at Spirit Ridge. The food is amazing. The veggies are so fresh and portion is big. My absolute favorite is the beef rib. This is the most delicious beef rib I have ever had. The texture is perfect and the meat is so tender and juicy. The BBQ sauce is on the side and not overwhelmingly sweet. The kale is such a surprise since I have never been fond of this vegetable. This time it is cooked so perfectly and very delicious. I almost finished all the veggies as side. The elk steak is also great but got outshined by the beef rib. :) The candied salmon is a lovely surprise. It tastes a little bit like a very tender pork jerky. This chef is top notched and I really enjoy my dinner there.

Absolutely wonderful food, excellent service, beautiful restaurant. Enjoyed the beef ribs for dinner and then a veggie breakfast omelet for brunch the next day.

We came here for brunch and the food was great. I expected more aboriginal dishes and was excited to try some, but realized that their dinner menu was a lot more unique. We ordered the fried chicken + waffles and the burger. Their brunch was still delicious, but if i would have know, I would have switched it around for dinner instead. Staff were friendly and asked everyone to keep masks on until you got to the table.

Located in Canada's only desert, Bear, Fish Root and Berry serves modern vineyard cuisine inspired by the Indigenous roots of the Syilx people of the Okanagan Nation.  Their approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and they have taken these stories as the inspiration for the name of the restaurant, which represent the key elements of Indigenous cuisine in the region. If you're planning a trip to the Okanagan/ Osoyoos area, this is a must visit! Be sure to book the patio for beautiful views of the vineyards and lake if weather permits.

    Ploughman Platter

We were on a girls trip to Osoyoos and stopped in for a pre dinner cocktail and appetizer. The restaurant is stunning and the service was excellent. We had a window seat with a fabulous view. We each ordered a martini, and we shared the ploughman platter. The drinks were delicious, and the platter was the best we'd ever had... all local ingredients that perfectly complemented each other. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll come for dinner.

    Trout Cobb salad

Had lunch here while on vacation in the area Food overall was good. I had the trout Cobb salad which was more like trout with vegetables on the side. My trout was slightly undercooked but I liked the variety of veggies on the plate and overall was happy with the dish. For dessert we tried the s'mores dessert which was really neat - set up to look like a campfire on the plate! Great wine selection here and a very spacious patio. Overall a decent meal but quite expensive for the portions and a little disappointed in the fish. I would come back again to try something new!

Unfortunately we came here on a rainy day, but even so the view from the restaurant is lovely. They have inside and outside seating. Staff are very friendly. Good place to come and eat lunch or dinner. Nice relaxing atmosphere. We came here for lunch and had the ploughman lunch for two which was perfect for a light lunch. Had a great selection of wines.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 4…read moreDecor: 6 Value: 6 Overall: 6 The fried fish batter was pretty good, though I would prefer it to be a bit more airy rather than so hard. It felt even thicker and less desirable on the prawns. However, overall, it was okay. The seasoning on the fish was light, barely noticeable. With that said, dipping it into the addicting tartar sauce made it more enjoyable. We liked the sauce so much that we ordered a few more at $.50 each. Between the two fish options, I love the tenderness of the cod, but really liked the meatiness of the halibut. The prawns were not very good imho. The chips were crispy and quite good, but the New England Clam Chowder needed more clam flavor. Service was a bit odd. The Korean lady starts off by saying that they don't serve parties larger than four, but will make an exception, though there was a round table clearly large enough. A party of five came later and they had to split up. Why couldn't she simply add a chair for them at the rectangular table for four? Furthermore, she told us that "It's not dim sum." Guess she is telling us to order enough food and don't share one or two items between us because we are Chinese? We certainly took some offense to that comment. Towards the latter part of the meal, she got somewhat friendlier. Not as amazing as I had hoped from seeing the Google and Yelp reviews, but still one of the better casual eateries out here if you don't mind some "interesting" conversation with the owner.

We all loved the fries while my wife and I also enjoyed the apple-coleslaw. Best of all was the fish. My wife and I really enjoyed our two pieces of cod which was more than enough for each of us. The 6yo loved his one piece of halibut. Each basket came with a bit of fruit and some pickle slices, which is rare in the states. Service was great and they took care of everything. They wouldn't let me clean up the table.

So of course we had to check it out! The location is stellar, right overlooking the beachfront. Can't beat that. The hostess and our server were lovely and attentive. We got a table on the lower patio, overlooking the waterfront. Fabulous! We were impressed by the diversity of dishes on the menu. I think you'd be hard-pressed not to find something to your liking here, whatever your culinary preferences or restrictions. My kid ordered a maple-glazed salmon dish with mashed potatoes and asparagus (which she devoured and loved!). I ordered the calamari and tempura vegetables which came with the most unique aoili sauce made with passionfruit. It sounds really odd, and it sounds like it shouldn't work - but boy, does it ever! What a fabulous taste to this sauce! And the calamari was wonderful and perfectly seasoned and fried. And I've never had tempura strips of red pepper but they were fantastic! Truly wonderful calamari dish. We were too full for dessert. Alas! This restaurant lived up to its hype for us! Great place!

The waitress was very knowledgeable. I ordered the fiesta bowl with eggs sunny side up. I was given the salmon bowl with eggs poached. Not what I ordered at all. Sent it back and waitress came by and apologized for punching in the wrong bowl. Needless to say I had to wait for the correct meal to come. By then everyone was half to 3/4s finished. At least it came hot. I think a price adjustment should have been in order or no charge for a major screw up. It was still very good. The fish tacos were loaded with lettuce but still very good
