(Posting a review from 10/04/2015 since it actually belongs here.) We have a catered lunch every Friday at work. This past Friday, October 2nd, our company got lunch from La Mediterranee. It arrived around 12:30pm. I talked to the person who coordinated it and she said she used ZeroCater to place our lunch order. Everything below was served family style: *Chicken Pomegranate *Hummos *Spinach and Feta Filo *Falafel *Green Salad *Rice Pilaf *Pita *Dolma I loved the chicken, hummus and salad. The chicken was super tender. The hummus was smooth and great as a sauce on everything. Really good flavor. And I'm a girl who loves greens, so I had two helpings of salad. The falafel, pita and dolma were pretty good, but those weren't very warm when they arrived, so I had a texture issue with them as they were a little hard. I liked the spinach and feta filo, but I don't like whole chickpeas, so I found myself picking them out. (Yes, I love hummus, but I don't like whole chickpeas. Weird, I know, but it's a taste and texture thing.) I didn't try the rice pilaf, so I can't comment on that dish. My coworker said this is one of her favorite Mediterranean places and I can see why. I just wish the hot food had arrived hot. Or at least warmer than it did. Cold falafels and mushy dolmas took away from my meal a bit. Next time, I wanna go in and try their lamb lule. It sounds like the dish to get! Hopefully the falafels will be fresh and hot! read more

La Med is really the original Mediterranean restaurant in my book. They kind have invented the genre. I have been to their restaurants for over 25 years and have never had a bad meal. Only complaint is that they have not planted themselves out here in the Crick. However, this review is about their excellent catering service. I literally called them at 4pm the day before my event and they delivered. The only tips I can give you is to kind of follow Their lead on recommendations and not to over order. We had La Med cater our May 2015 wedding in SF and THEY WERE THE BEST! Alicia is as sweet as they come and unbelievably easy to work with. We found La Med after running into budget issues with a few other caterers in the city. Both my husband and I love La Meds food and didnt really consider them for catering, but when we found out this was possible AND that they were SUPER reasonable, it was a no-brainer. We immediately booked La Med and it was smooth sailing from that point on. We decided to do a buffet style and were able to choose from a variety of foods. He is a vegetarian and I follow Paleo, so finding a cuisine that suits both of us (and every other SF diet) can be difficult, but La Med knocked it out of the park. Their service and quality of food was perfect. And, so many of our guests agreed. It was great hearing how everyone loved the dinner! We just used La Med to cater our wedding (5/28/16) and they rocked it. We had the wedding outdoors at our home in Oakland with 75 guests. Amanda Fein coordinated the tables, chairs, linens, food, coffee service, and servers. She also suggested a vendor to transform our garage into a lovely place to eat. It really could not have been better. The food was delish, fresh, hot. All our guests commented on how good the food was, and I agree. We chose a 10-item menu and every single thing was yummy. Even the salad dressing was remarkably tasty. The whole thing went off without a hitch. They were there right on time, worked well with our other vendors, and provided seamless service. The waiters were right there with passed appetizers, but never obtrusive. They all had great attitudes and fit in with our party--they even took a couple pics in our photo booth and signed our guest book. Special props to Amanda who gave me great suggestions, was patient with me, and just coordinated everything like the true professional she is. We had a staff appreciation mixer at our office and I ordered from La Med because they made it so darn easy! I placed my order with ease, patience and help from Trevor over the phone. He helped me fine-tune my order and pick the popular items. We were able to choose a 30 minute time window for delivery, and it came right on time! Andrew delivered the food AND set it up beautifully and logically on our table for us! They provided enough utensils for our 80 guests, as well as serving utensils! They had printed labels to place next to everything we ordered, and they even noted if it was vegan or vegetarian! We had the option of paying with cc or getting a printed invoice and paying with a check upon delivery. They really work hard to accommodate the workplace/corporate event setup! I have a bad habit of stuffing my face during lunch and I tend to feel disgusting after most meals, but I'm always surprised how good I feel after I stuff my face with La Med. I love the spinach fillo, and the pomegranate chicken is super tender and flavorful. Sometimes they come by to drop off baklava(!) and I always end up eating more than I can handle but it's so good.
