If you buy a Hymer or any other unit beware. NEW with 64 miles does not mean the unit works. New Hymers don't come with a warranty and I took my chances, but NEW means everything works and that's what they told me when they demonstrated it plugged in. Plugged in because no batteries were any good. Not even the one running the dodge engine. Lithium s show up on screen but have never held a charge. Called repeatedly to both FL and CA, AR. For 2 years they blamed Dodge, but Dodge is holding up their end. Covid caused time to pass by also. We were told to try many thing but the whole time I believe they were buying time. I called asking about a unit on their lot and with its age were batteries guaranteed even the lithium s, and I was told yes. When I told them who, I was they told me to much time has passed and it would be a hourly price to look at it. read more

Purchase of a Tiffin Phaeton QKH A dream or a nightmare? By Daniel J Stroski On 8/24/2020 we purchased a used RV. We bought it from La Mesa RV in West Sacramento, CA. We paid with tax and license fees a total of $ 141,673.64. We took possession of the rig on 9/2/2020. From day one we have had leveler problems that have impacted our ability to use this rig. We bought "as is" and then purchased an extended warranty for peace of mind on 10/02/2020. We brought this rig in for leveler repair no less than six times. La Mesa RV has failed to repair them. Ultimately, the rig broke down in Arizona on 7/8/21. The driver's side front leveler locked into place and forcing them up no longer worked. With levelers down, no tow company would tow us. Making my wife and I having to wait 24 hours for a La Mesa RV mobile mechanic. (Matt) All the while enduring 116-degree weather outside, in a rig whose air conditioning system wasn't coping. After an hour of joint effort, Matt and I were able to get the levelers up and return home. Here are the dates in for repair: 1. 9/2/20 - Road Side assistance (La Mesa RV) 2. 9/21-22/20 - Will not go up or down. 3. 10/06/20 to 11/16/20 - Leveler issues again. (Cannot duplicate) 4. 01/15/21 - Leveler issues, Springs replaced. 5. 04/1/2021 - Letter to La Mesa re: Leveler complaint. 6. 07/08/21 - Breakdown in AZ a. 07/09/21 - Road Side Assistance (La Mesa RV) 7. 08/19/21 - In for repair of Levelers. 8. 08/26/2021 - Told nothing wrong with levelers. The sales lady, Tricia, told us this vehicle had been safety inspected. We relied on that representation, as we were brand new to RVing and didn't have any knowledge about RVing. We believe that was a false misrepresentation. Why? First, when we did the walk around familiarization, noted was that the generator would not even start. The fix was to service the generator and then it would start. Secondly, when we tested the rig ourselves at a local hookup in Woodland, when we turned on the water pump, water spewed all inside the master bedroom. It was immediately noticeable. I put a bolt inside the hose, and then used pipe tape to wench all in place until it could be fixed. (11/16/20) The levelers have broken-down since the very day we took possession. How did their safety inspection miss all three of these issues? It doesn't seem likely that the levelers would only work in Davis and not in Woodland. I don't think an inspection even took place. I am not sure what a safety inspection includes. I am not sure if an inspection includes the plumbing or levelers. Should a generator be working at the point of sale? If not, should they not disclose that? I am not sure how much the "AS IS" disclaimer obviates the seller's responsibility of mechanical defects. We have put roughly $4,000 into the rig for repairs and maintenance. We have put 6,000 miles on the rig since acquisition. (12 months ago) One trip to San Diego in the spring 2021, and then to Alabama in early summer 2021. The rest of the time has been spent fixing, waiting to be fixed, or just time to go on vacation with rig. (Kid in School.) The extended warranty is useless, because the mechanics can't or will not say the levelers are broken. The problem is the levelers seem to work intermittently. I have no problem in getting them to misbehave, but their mechanics can't. The reliability of the levelers alone should merit replacement in my judgement. We have spent roughly $1200 on leveler repair thus far. Since repair is not an option, we wanted to take the rig back. I think we have clearly shown a good faith attempt on our part to repair. The rig appears to fall into the realm of "lemon hood." I tried to sell back and buy another rig. I received a low-ball offer of $115,000. They appear to want us to take a $25,000 loss on a rig we bought less than a year ago from the time we took it in for its last repair. The rig is clearly in better shape than when we bought it. It has a fresh maintenance, awning, window, stair steps, antenna, fans, electrical lighting, all repaired. All at a time when used RV's are said to have gone up in value. Their logic was that the rig is now a year older, making it now ten years old, and that banks don't like to loan on rigs ten years or older. None of these reasons have anything to do with the fact that they seem to have sold us a lemon. Nothing to do with the fact that their mechanics have failed to repair a very severe problem that impacts the safe and reliable operation of the rig. There appears no ownership in the issue of their service department's inability to repair. No willingness to admit defeat so I can use my extended warranty to get the levelers repaired by someone else. So, after taking the rig in for yet the sixth time, I was told they levelers were working, no charge for that inspection. I get the rig home, put the leveler down and less than two days later guess what? Yup, leveler LF will not retract. Avoid La Mesa RV read more

La mesa RV is the worst in customer service. We have a 2022 class a motor home with warranty issues for over a year. Had it in once for repairs for over a month. Most of the items that were needed were not even available. A lot of what they did fix broke on our first trip. it's been about 4 months and the outstanding items are still not in. hard to even get a call back. plus we have additional items to had to add to the list do not buy from la Mesa RV unless you don't care about service or maintenance read more

The service department once again let their customer skills get so rusty, I have yet to meet anyone of them that have any kind of personality. It must be a prerequisite, if your an ass ..come on down. Ridiculous. I was stupid enough to try a second time getting a part. The few things they use to have where you can look around, it's now under lock and key. I have yet to see a single person in any RV store stealing a thing but that must be part of LaMesas' stellar customer experience. FYI LeMesa, people that spend a half million on their rig are not going to take your over priced scant parts. I purchased a new class B RV from La Mesa Rv in Phoenix on Oct 25, 2021. I live in California so this was an "out of state" over the phone deal. The salesman Mark Watman and the finance lady Angela Steinke was pleasant to deal with. The issue I have is that neither of them mentioned that i would be paying a city tax to Phoenix of ($2032.90) that would not transfer over to California. So I basically paid an additional $2032.90 to buy it from them as to buying it local. I could not find this particular class B locally in the beginning of Oct. so after speaking with Mark he informed me that I could put a $500 fully refundable, for any reason, deposit and he would hold the vehicle for me until I could fly out there on Oct 25th. He informed me the total cost would be sales price + $995(their fee) + sales tax for the area that I live in. Not sales tax for the area I live in + Phoenix city tax of 2.3%. My local dealer did receive this same RV on Oct 20th. Since I had not seen this particular floorplan in person, I went down to look at it to make sure this floorpan would work for us. Now at this point I could of made a deal with this local dealership and received my $500 dollar deposit back from La Mesa RV but I didn't because I had a verbal agreement with Mark at La Mesa RV even though it was going to cost me airfare for my wife and I, hotel and car rental. So if you don't mind paying the additional $2000 plus dollars(2.3% of selling price) then go ahead and buy from La Mesa RV. But don't expect them to disclose this info to you. This is our 4th RV purchase and I can guarantee you that we will not be buying from or recommending La Mesa RV to anybody. This is also the first review I've ever written. read more

We bought an RV in 2018 and also where talked into the extended warranty it sounded so great at the time of purchase. Having any warranty work done on the other hand is a nightmare. I call to schedule something done and its 2 months out for an appointment and that's just to have it looked at so they can order the parts needed. Then they will schedule the appointment. The problem is I have to drive the RV into Mesa,AZ to have them look at the problem, then return again to have the work done. Its over 200 miles roundtrip. My advice don't buy the extended warranty unless you live close to the dealership! BTW the warranty cost around 10.000 extra. read more

I bought a 2021 Fleetwood Bounder 35P from Lamesa RV at their cardinals stadium sale in 2021. To date, although my coach has been in their posession for service for 13.5 of the 21 months that I have owned the coach, I still to date do not have a working heat pump on my coach though they have repaired it 3 times. The Galley slide has not worked properly from the day I took posession of the coach. The slide is destroying other parts of my coach due to its malfunctioning. After 51 weeks in their shop, I picked it up on Dec. 9 2022. On January 7, 2023, one of the rollers that they installed to repair the coach fell off. When I turn on the generator, the exaust enters the coach and sets off the carbon monoxide detector, even though this was "repaired" under recall. Now, their service Rep, Chris Akerman, Has informed me that my warranty has lapsed (because they had the coach for 51 weeks) and that if I want to get anything repaired, I need to pay out of pocket. He also called me a MF and a "stupid SOB" because I told him that he was wrong, and that the repair items in question have existed since the day I took posession of the coach, AND I have a 6 year extended warranty. This just the tip of the iceberg. I will be posting the entire saga on various other outlets, it will be entertaining at very least. Informative at best. This is a declaration. Bought our redwood 5th wheel three year in ago from Masa RV during COVID. We have tried to get warranty work done time and time again. Someone would show up and take pictures and take notes and not get back to us. Can't get help can't get parts and nothing get done. Needed new awning and then they were johnny on the spot cause money was involved. Service is bad and employee turn over was unreal. Thank got we bought an extended warranty. Now we can hire soonone local that knows what to do and do it. If you are looking at camper find a dealership that care about the people they sell to. There are two types of reviews presented on Yelp. One, is the review from RV owners who have purchased from La Mesa, had no trouble with the rig and are five star happy folks. The other HALF, yes, HALF, are people who purchased from La Mesa and had trouble. The service that La Mesa apparently provides is less than stellar, or just plainly piss poor. When 50% of reviews are negative, one star reviews, complete with horror stories one might ask, "what is La Mesa doing to piss off every one in two customers"? La Mesa has apparently never asked this question. Don't know why, but I will never buy there, even though they had a rig I am interested in. I can't afford to take the chance. read more

Wish I could give this place negative stars but hope we help some folks a better choice than we did. We had have the roof replaced after purchasing a brand new RV. Initially told it would take 30 days to get approval for the warranty and install the new roof. Flash forward 90+ days later and we got our RV back. This business has serious customer service issues that have nothing to do with the pandemic. We asked for updates regularly and were lied to by their service department. At 60 days into the matter we asked to speak to the person in charge. We spoke to the General Manager, Don. Don explained he would look into the issue and call us back in 10 minutes. Needless to say we never have heard back from Don. Next step we called again and someone other than Don advised "We are waiting on parts." When pressed to learn who the manufacturers were this La Mesa employee told us to "call and find out about the parts yourself" which we did. We found out the manufacturers were waiting for approval from La Mesa to send the roofing parts. Really? So now we were tracking our own roof parts. Last step was call corporate. This is a huge waste of energy. Jay Castro, head of customer service, gave us the real run around. We had multiple calls with Jay who was appearing shocked by this horrible customer service yet he never had them call us. I will say Jay did get our rig detailed after I demanded it was shiny and new looking when we picked it up. It was still extremely dusty and the poor kid who helped us just started 3 weeks ago. This is sad that a business that has great potential is throwing away this opportunity to be the best of the best during the RV boom in the U.S. right now. We suggested that La Mesa take a hard look at how they can be a better service provider. I suspect they aren't the down to earth, family owned and run business they sell to people. He said I didn't really have a chance to find something used and I should buy what's on the lot. These fools apparently left both our black and grey tank open when we bought this RV new, and I get the luxury of paying them 120 bucks to clean out the grey tank. So we made a appointment to finish repairs a month out . Day of appointment we are told they wouldn't even start working on our rig for a week and a half . Then after having it for there for 2 months the repairs were suppose to be done . when arriving the battery wasn't charged so couldn't check anything , so when we got home went to fill the water tank and water is pouring out of the bottom of the rig . This review is for the body shop in Pt St Lucie FL. My latest repair had to do with the ac leaking and changing the manner in which water runs off the roof and not into the RV. Gerald Esposito and his crew worked quickly to repair it and get me back on the road. I have had two incidents prior which required bodywork and he handled both with speed and quality work. What can I say, great experience. I've had a couple toy haulers and purchase from dealers before. Nothing was as smooth as purchasing our new Redwood from Jimmy Jenkins at La Mesa RV. Jimmy has to be one of the most knowledgable folks I've ever talked to about RVs, their construction, and different options. Back in finance, Michelle Rice is awesome. Made it a lot of fun to finalize the purchase and protect our unit. Delivery of the unit was pretty smooth, given it's an RV. For those that haven't purchased one, they are never perfect. *BUYER BE WARE OF LA MESA RV IN GREENFIELD ARIZONA" The only reason they are getting a one star if because they actually had what we wanted. If you are looking to purchase an RV, I would recommend doing your homework, especially if you are going to purchase from La Mesa RV. Like any place that wants to make a sale, the sales staff made every effort to find what we were looking for. They made promises of repairs and delivery date, all which were never met. That was only the beginning. So after we were delayed for two weeks for the delivery of our RV the delivery manager and the sales staff were clearly not communicating nor did they care about their promises of an agreed upon delivery date. Needless to say after some repairs were conducted and the roadworthy inspection was conducted, we picked up our coach and drove it home. The following day when we went to move the coach into our RV area the digital dash display was completely blank. We contacted La Mesa and they directed us to Freightliner. After contacting Freightliner they advised us our RV had four recalls/notices and needed to be repaired. We then recontacted La Mesa and advised them of the recall and we were told it is not their responsibility to notify us of any outstanding recalls on the RV. So my advice get the VIN and contact the chassis manufacturer as well as a coach builder to verify the status of what you are looking to purchase. I cannot say enough about Freightliner ands how responsive they were to our questions and direction for the repairs. Do your own thorough inspection. If you do not have the skill set then hire an independent inspection company. The number of interior items that needed to be secured or repaired was considerable and questioned if the interior Pre-delivery Inspection was ever conducted. That was minor considering the chassis PDI. Once I had the coach home and started checking fluid levels and looking over the chassis,it was clear no effort was made to ensure the coach was current on it maintenance. Any concern that was conveyed to La Mesa RV staff was always met with "well you bought a used RV". Mind you we bought a Tiffin. The windshield on the RV was cracked in two places and an attempt to repair it was made without notification to us. Which is a big no no. When my wife called them they advise they would look into it and admitted the over site and did send out someone to replace the window. But again the RV should of never been sold that way. Lastly, there is the finance department. After all documentation was completed and information provided regarding the lender we were given a time line on a payoff on our trade and our purchase. Needless to say we contacted the lender after the prescribed time period who advised us the delay was not their's but La Mesa RV. We again contacted La Mesa RV, who told us they had not received the payment. A follow up with the lender confirmed La Mesa had the check/funding but had not sent the payoff. Needless to say by the time the bank received the pay off we were short and had to make up the difference. Agin if you go with La Mesa RV do your homework and be prepared to follow up with their staff. Keep in mind we were told they sell 1100 RVs in a month and our concerns were just not that important. When we went to pick it up, as we were shown the RV, it was apparent it hadn't been checked out before-hand. Wires were hanging from a ceiling where a lite as supposed to be. The generator wouldn't run. My wife and I had to wait around while they supposedly fixed it. The lite wouldn't turn off so we had to sleep with a light on all night. The Delivery Manager I contacted was very troubled and concerned about out experience and requested his mobile tech contact me yesterday. He didn't. Then it took until 3 PM the next day to talk with him and he is not available for weeks. So I will make another trip from Tucson and pick up the parts and do it myself. I can't believe the shoddy work and treatment as I made one of the largest purchases in my life. My wife and I are worried about this used unit as have lost trust and confidence in LaMesa RV's Sales, Service and Finance department. Having Finance have two people count our cash twice and then make a point that if it wasn't counted correctly, expressing concern that I wouldn't come up with a shortage if it was discovered later. Extremely poor service in the parts department. I needed to order a Winnebago fender. Although I had the serial and model number the Parts Manager requested that I personally go out onto their lot to find the part and take a picture of it for him. According to the invoice the part was purchased 06/15/2021. I was told a 2 weeks delivery date. On 7/06/2021 I picked my PREPAID $97.00 fender up with a "mystery" increase delivery charge of $104.95 for UPS ground delivery.. on a 3 pound package! Don't bother calling the parts department either they do not answer their phone as I found out numerous times. read more

Bought the RV there April 2020. Found a few issues and reported within the allotted time period (some drawer closures/latches don't keep the drawers shut when turning and the little pop-up power station wouldn't pop-up). Made an appointment to bring the RV in and have it taken care of. Left it there nearly 3 weeks, never updated on the repair status. Wanted to take it on a trip so I picked it up. Was told the drawers were fixed but the power station was a special order part and they were waiting on it. I asked them to call me when they got the replacement in hand. I have called back several times since and the best they do is tell me they'll speak with the service rep and call me back. Yesterday we called and were told "our" service rep no longer works there but we have an appointment set up next month? I never made an appointment! Well, that's fine--do they have the part in hand at least? They have no idea what we're talking about, but will gather information when we bring it in! That's sounding even more ridiculous as I'm typing this. I called again today to speak with the service manager. Had to leave a voice mail, and haven't heard back yet. Bet I'll hear back a lot faster now--businesses always seem to jump only when they see a bad review online. read more
