I had been driving on a doughnut spare tire since March 10th. I've heard horror stories about using a doughnut spare, especially on either front wheel. Call me crazy, but ​I drove the recommended 50 MPH for a doughnut spare. I have to tell you, it was scary with all of these speeding idiots around me. I didn't know if I was going to get rear-ended, slammed into a wall or what. ​The only advantage of driving 50 MPH is that I got 28 MPG, vice my average 22 MPG. La Mesa Tire hooked me up! They didn't have any used tires for the size I needed, but they did have the exact same ​brand ​of new tires. They're used tires start at $45 They cut me a break with a brand new tire for $60 cash! This is a business that looks out for their customers, this is why they are so highly rated. But their ratings are slipping due to people who have YELP accounts, but don't take the time to write a short praise for the service they received. They're a f​ive star in my book. I believe I found a new tire and automotive maintenance team, which is c​loser than any of the brand named tire and maintenance companies. read more

Do NOT go here! I have been here multiple times (4 or 5) and everytime, they have lied to me. The first time I went a few years ago, I bought an expensive Yelp deal and they pretended to not know what it was. Then they said oh, we don't do that anymore. I had to spend a lot of time trying to fix their error. Then, on the most recent visit, the new tires I bought were supposed to come with a free alignment. They kept going to the back of the shop to scheme and would come back with a higher and higher price for everything. First, they tried overcharging $30 for EACH tire saying it was a good deal. ( I looked it up later with the brand and everything because they said the brand was "expensive" but it's not). Then they tried charging me $60 for the alignment saying it's not free anymore because my tires were "rare." (An alignment on their website, by the way is $40 if you don't buy new tires) But it became clear that whatever they said online or previously, they would always backtrack. I had had enough of the abuse at this point. They didn't even do the alignment because they didn't have the machine but still charged me!!! They told me I had to go to their other store and said it was my fault I didn't come earlier... Nope! They just cannot stop lying! I spoke to the owner requesting a refund for the alignment and unprofessional as they are, said they would take back the mileage warranty saying yet another bullsh*t lie about that's how the warranty works. So of course I asked around and found out this is NOT a thing and alignments have nothing to do with mile warranties! This comes standard with purchasing the tire. Wow the owner was vindictive. I already purchased tires but it wasn't enough, they had to be greedy. Unfortunately, this is a bad family business! They only see customers as dollar signs. Update: Just found out my "new" tires were flat. My car was so wobbly on the freeway. That is very dangerous! They didn't even check the air pressure! Uhhh...that is so unprofessional. So now I know the tires they sold me aren't "new." BEWARE! read more

I probably have 5 tire/brake/alignment shops within a mile from home, and although this seems convenient, I go out of my way to come here. My older vehicles have issues that I can't deal with sometimes, and if I don't have the hours to spare(normally in Tijuana) this is the best choice. Speaking Spanish here is an added benefit too, so you can get those TJ type prices.. Really not sure if that helps, but it can't hurt right? Besides, there are two killer places to chow down very close by while you're waiting- Cali Comfort BBQ and El Puerto taco shop. You really can't go wrong at either of these. I have purchased used tires here before, and never had any problems, however, it has become hard to find them now. Newer vehicles have larger rim sizes, and the selection of good used is practically non-existent so I just buy new tires these days. These guys are really, really good. I wrecked my truck in December, so bad it was hardly driveable. A trip to the wrecking yard first, I fixed what I could. Then came here, and they replaced all tie rods and aligned it for like $160. An ultra low price(similar to TIjuana) that could not be matched this side of the border! Then, I brought my Camry in for alignment, I mentioned that my brake pedal felt spongy at times. The guy aligned the car, checked the brakes, bled the air out of the system for no extra cost! He then told me I should change my rear brakes, since they were getting low. I don't know many places that do the little extras like this without charging you something. Bottom line, I will always go back here, they are honest and I can try another menu item from Cali or El Puerto too! read more

Came in to change the tires on my truck, shop was empty. they start on one tire and another truck comes in to swap 4 tires as well that customer dropped off the truck. I'm waiting for my truck to be done and the second worker there that seamed to know what he was doing started on the second truck and left the other guy that didn't seem to know what he was doing working on my truck. I asked if the worker if he can help the other worker to knock out my truck first since I was waiting and the other customer had left not to mention that I was there first. The worker told me he was was in his way out and wanted to finish the second truck before he went home. Sure enough he did finish the second truck before mine. Long story short horrible customer service and the workers here are not too knowledgeable or experienced on changing tires. Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. These guys don't care for the customers. They need to have negative stars cause they would totally qualify for negative five stars read more

Came here and paid for an alignment, for the other location was told it was a certain amount of money out the door for just the toe. I agreed , arrive for them to say that that cost wasn't for all four tires.. crazy. I paid the difference at the other location regardless though. I should've known immediately to just get a refund. They had to redo my alignment after the first one because upon leaving after the first one, discovered that it was still bad. Total time spent was almost 4 hours at the shop, waiting for to alignments. Avoid both of these places like the plague!! read more

My car had a problem of shaking on lower speed between (20-40) and i shown to few auto repair's but most of them didn't find the problem and some of them told me it might be the axle, bad transmission fluid or it needs wheel alignment and to be balanced as well. So, i took it to this place in hope of the problem to go away. They took my car in right the way, and it's been done in an hour. Later they wanted to over charge me for around $200 just for transmission fluid as he said bad fluid causes the shake and needs to be changed immediately. But i was in rush and now I'm glad I didn't change the fluid and got rid of being ripped off as that has not caused the problem and the fluid is not even bad. I'm just saying they're not being honest. I don't like people trick their customers. But hey i saved $5 for checking in. read more

Came here for a last second alignment on my G35. Not the most professional looking establishment, but their employees more than make up for it. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The 4-wheel alignment was half the price that most other places charge. It took about 15 minutes longer than quoted, but they took my car in with a 30 minute notice. Car handles better than it has in years. Still have an annoying steering wheel vibration, but I believe it is due to my wheel balancing done at another spot. Will return when in need of an alignment. read more

My fiancee was on his way to work when his tire blew. We needed to find a trustable tire shop as the last tire shop we went to (Noah's tire shop) was a complete nightmare. Seriously, please never ever go there. I felt uneasy having to visit another tire shop so soon, so this time I made sure to yelp. My fiancee texted me letting me know that the service was great, I came home and my fiancee (who is soooo hard to please sometimes, lucky me) again brought up La Mesa Tires. I own a roofing company. For the past 2 years I have brought the company trucks for tires alignments. Today I brought my truck to get a tire changed. I ended up changing all 4 tires. (Almost 400.00) When a tire was being changed they broke a stud. I went to the store and I bought the stud for them to replace. For my surprise they said they were going to charge me 35.00 in labor. Went by there this afternoon. My right front tire looked pretty low on air. The fellow who helped me took the wheel off the car and soaked it in a tub of water. He couldn't find a leak so he said "if it's low again when you wake up tomorrow you can bring it back in." He put air in my other tires so they all matched in tire pressure. When I asked him how "much do I owe you" he said "nothing, just send me a referral who might need some new tires, that's the best thing you can do for us." I thought it was a remarkable display of customer service. If you need any new or used tires (or you have a flat) give these guys a shot. I was really impressed! read more
