    Asada Burrito!

Authentic - Ordered Asada Burrito (had fresh avocado!) w/side of rice n beans (when the beans are authentic....you know you're in the right place) and side of hot carrot/jalapeño mix! Enough leftover for another meal! Perfecto! Good service - Great place to stop in the middle of nowheresville!

I love this place. The food is always delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is cute. I don't get to eat here very often because of the distance but whenever I want authentic Mexican food this is my go to place. They never disappoint.

Variety of unique foods, but I'm pretty sure these are not authentic Mexican dishes. I ate from the buffet to sample as much as I could. Sad to say that everything I tried was lacking in basic traditional seasonings. I tasted no garlic, cumin and oregano in the meats that should have contained it. I had to add salt to everything. The one item that really struck me as odd was the chile relleno. The chile was not roasted prior to being stuffed with cheese, dipped in the egg batter and fried. I have never seen a raw chile relleno before. Maybe they are trying to save time? Mexican food is usually so flavorful and this place needs to just bump it up a few notches.

For those of you who follow my reviews, as a chef, you know that eating at a buffet, especially a…read moreChinese food buffet is not something I look forward to. However, Chinese buffets is my wife's sweet spot and so here we are at Mikata. Atmosphere: if you have ever been to a Chinese buffet, you know the look... functionally efficient cafeteria. Definitely not a mood environment. As with all buffets, it had tons of people moving through the lines to gather as much food as they could. Service: As with the atmosphere, it was functionally efficient. Although I must admit, our server did talk with us and had a great smile. Food: Ah the food. I never like buffets because the food is usually underdone when it first comes out and becomes overdone as it sits and waits to be picked on. However, even though I don't like Chinese buffets, because I visit them often (for my lovely bride) I've become quite experienced of the genre. And if you compare the Mikata buffet with other buffet' s, I must say, this one is as good as it gets. The crab Rangoon was small but amply filled with cheese. The ribs were juicy, and the peel and eat shrimp were top notch. As a bonus, they even offered asparagus instead of the usual broccoli or green beans. My favorite offering was the roasted duck. It was juicy without being fatty, absolutely the best I've had in a Chinese buffet. Even the ice cream tasted better than most. Price: Here is the best thing about Mikata. Where else can you get an all you can eat dinner for $17.00 per person! Even McDonalds will cost you more than that! The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" is would I come back? Knowing my wife's proclivity towards Chinese buffets, you can bet on it. However, because of the price and quality, she won't hear my usual complaints.

The food is mediocre, the sushi lacks variety, and to be honest, it's not even that fresh. The staff isn't remarkable either. I went there with my family for my birthday, hoping to enjoy a nice sushi dinner, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The place is messy and not very clean, and the staff isn't friendly at all. Do yourself a favor--don't go!

I love the hibachi. Steak, chicken, seafood. Noodles, veggies and like 8 difference sauces to try! It is a must. There is a TON is sushi, although, I don't eat it my husband does. He reports is was fresh! And the selection is perfect. They have a carving station, and there are always stapes, like gyoza, dumplings, tempura, and rangoon, Chinese donuts, .etc but the other dishes seem to change often ! It's expensive all the time, weekday and more on the weekend but it's AYCE :)

For the hibachi, you get a plate and select the items that you want grilled. I wasn't crazy about the location of the raw chicken which was in the back row. There were some juice drippings in the onions which were in front of it. They take your plate from you and put your plate aside, on top of another plate from someone else who may have selected raw meats. I don't know if those plates were re-used for the cooked food as I didn't stay to watch. They have a chocolate fountain where you can dip a variety of items like marshmallows, Rice Krispy treats and cannolis. There were more options but I didn't look at all of them. Our server was very attentive and checked her area often to clear plates and refill drinks. We never had to ask for a refill.

The weekend buffet price was fairly reasonable for $20.95. There is a huge amount of sushi flavors, seafood, salad, soup, hibachi, Asian cuisine, fruit, and dessert options. Some of my favorites were the California sushi roll, chicken broccoli, and pastries. I enjoyed everything and it was plentiful. The staff took care of us and refilled our drinks as needed. They removed the plates as necessary and checked on us to make sure we were happy with everything. The waiter informed us there was gratuity added on our bill because of the size of our group. Most restaurants wouldn't inform the customers about that and a lot of people would add an additional tip by mistake without thinking about it. All of us had a great time for lunch!
