Great roadside restaurant. This unassuming restaurant is tucked behind a gas station, and It is one of those places that you don't know if you should eat there, but you see all these trucks outside from local customers and I guess a few like me that just stumbled across it on any given day, and decide to go in. As you come in, there is an eat-in bar on your left and an ample dining room straight from the door. The menu has lots of choices, from salads to tacos to BBQ pulled pork and many more choices. My bet is that anything you order would be delicious. I had the brisket sandwich with coleslaw, and it was incredibly good. Juicy flavorful large brisket pieces on sliced bread that holds everything perfectly in place without falling apart. The michelada they make here is definitely one of the best I've had even south of the border. The ambiance has that southwestern vibe to it, sort of like one of those western movies. Well as you might expect, I was getting a hankering for something different and stopped in to have a bite. Atmosphere was good, a lot different than i remember, nice big booths and painted. Sort of cozy? I ordered the brisket with collard greens and my favorite drink, unsweetened ice tea. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She actually recommended the brisket and the collard greens! When it was served, I was amazed at how much of it was piled on a sandwich?! No way could I take a bite, so I used a fork to slowly het it down to sandwich size. Wow! Was it tasty!! It was sooooo good!! And the collards were fantastic!! Very good choice!! First of all, we went online to see where we could grab a bite to eat in Indiantown, FL. Right away we saw the reviews for this El Rancho restaurant saying that it was not fancy inside, but we were pleased with the reviews. We too had the same opinion. Outside the front door were some specials listed on a chalkboard, and once inside, we were happy to see the booths and tables in good condition. The bar was very nice and the bartender and servers greeted us with a welcome "hello" and "feel free to sit wherever you like". They were friendly which helped a lot. We received the menu from the server, Jessica. She was polite and friendly. She took our drink order right away, and came back to answer any questions with the menu items. It is a Colombian restaurant with a great menu. We ordered the pulled pork, braised cabbage, and collard green dinner, as well as the burrito supreme with steak. We were delighted with the meals when they were served, and boy, were they ever delicious. Once again, Jessica is to be commended on her friendly and professional hospitality. My husband and I will definitely come back here again. The music was also very nice. I'm sure at night the place comes alive with a lot of people. Great restaurant. Highly recommend. Indiantown, FL isn't much to see, but if you happen to be passing through stop at JR's for lunch. Family owned and operated the inside is a little rough around the edges. The food though is legit. We did a large order for the local power plant and the staff was so incredibly accommodating and gracious even though we stretched their resources to the limit. The brisket was fantastic and the chicken fell off the bone. Absolutely worth a stop and someplace we will be frequenting again. read more

Wow! I don't know where to start? If you like brisket, this is the place for a brisket sandwich! It is awesome! I had it with the collard greens which are the best I've had in a very long time. Very flavorful. They also have excellent Fajitas that'll make your eyes pop out when they bring it to your table! Very hearty portion! Small town goodness!!! Mexican MEATS Southern! Homemade cooked nacho chips loaded with these amazing caramelized onions and peppers, nacho cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and fresh sliced avocados. The brisket plate came with choice if 2 sides. The braised cabbage was so delicious with the same sweet caramelized onions. I wish I had gotten a double order of this! The mac n cheese wasn't my favorite. Noodles were overcooked and it just didn't have much flavor. It looked like they only had one server and cook. The server was very friendly and pleasant. I was excited to try this place after reading reviews - so much so I made it, and the neighboring DuPuis wildlife management area, a stop on my Florida trip. The atmosphere was local and comfortable with a jukebox playing Latina and classic rock. I ordered the half rack of ribs dinner and my boyfriend ordered the brisket dinner. The ribs were superb - tender with a good flavor. The sauces provided took it up an extra notch. I ordered potato salad (standard) and rice and beans as sides. I was most impressed by their question of which rice (yellow or white) and which beans (pinto or black). The rice was perfectly al dente. Overall an excellent experience. read more

Found this place by accident, a happy accident! I was driving thru I-town looking for the Burger King when I saw the sign reading BBQ & Saloon. BBQ and beer sounded better than burger and fries, so my friends and I went in. The waitress took our orders and brought out the ice cold beer. Ok, this is a bold statement but I'm gonna say it. This place has the best brisket you can get in south Florida. I'm from Texas, and I know brisket. Being this far away from Texas, I looked far and wide for some good brisket. This is as good as it gets. For others from the Lone Star state, I have to tell you it's not the brisket you're used to. It's not the lean kind but I like the flaky texture and it's got a great smoked flavor. I'm not a collard greens fan usually, but oh my gosh this place makes it so good. They make a vinegar/pepper to put on the greens and be sure to ask for it. So good. I did not care for the other sides too much. The mac and cheese tasted powdery, and the potato salad was too sweet. A friend had recommended the brisket and we were passing through Indiantown so I figured we'd give it a try. It definitely has a saloon vibe with pool tables, a good size bar, and dining area consisting of mismatched furniture. We went all in with the pulled pork nachos, a pound each of brisket, ribs, and pork as well as sides of cole slaw, baked beans, and collard greens. The meat was nice and tender but lacking a little seasoning. Thankfully, they had a good selection of BBQ sauces available. The sides were also all good, with the collard greens being the best. Best BBQ in town. A must for any stay at Indiantown Marina. Within walking distance from the Marina, prices are excellent and the food is authentic and abundant.
