We had an excellent lunch here. The place is large inside with a bar area -- the "cantina" -- and two dining room areas. There are tables as well as booths. The menu is large with quite a few lunch specials from which to choose. It was not an easy decision. We enjoyed addictive chips and two salsas (one mild and one spicy) while looking over the menu. My husband got their lunch burrito. It came with sides of refried beans, yellow rice, and salad. There was a dollop of sour cream on top. He had ground beef as his burrito meat filling. He really liked the flavor. He said the tortilla wrapping was soft. He was planning on taking half home for dinner, but wound up eating the entire meal as it was so good. I had an appetizer of shrimp ceviche. The large serving came spread out on a plate. There was a ton of shrimp -- cut piece of larger sized shrimp mixed in with whole baby shrimp; chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro. All in a marinade. I added an additional squeeze lime and some of the mild salsa. The shrimp dish was delicious. It felt healthy and refreshing -- especially on the hot day. For dessert, we had (vanilla) flan. A large portion that was perfect for us to share. It came with whipped cream and a couple cinnamon sugared chips. This place is a keeper. read more

Very good Mexican food. Had margaritas first. Need to order an extra shot in mine next time because it was very light on the alcohol. Had the Mexican tacos. Very tasty and authentic style. Lime, skirt steak and white onion, cilantro and hot sauce (very hot) on the side. Soft corn tortillas full of steak. Jen had the pork carnitas bowl. Perfect mix of pork, rice and beans, Cheese etc. Large portions. Not real loud which is perfect for Mom since she is 90 and mostly hard of hearing. The pictures are of the tacos and the bowl. We come here fairly often and the service is always great. We were sat fairly quickly and were seen by our server within a few minutes of sitting down. We ordered a Passion fruit margarita on the rocks, which was delicious! We also got some guacamole for the table, which they make table side so it's super fresh and yummy! I got the combo appetizer as my meal because I got a little bit of everything, which I highly enjoy. It comes with ground beef nachos, a quesadilla, and a chicken taquito. My mom got a carne asada platter, and my husband did one of the combo dinner platters available. Their dinner combos are super versatile and a great bargain! I have passed by for years and never stopped in until now! Brought my son while he was home from college and it was great! So glad we stopped in! The food and atmosphere were great. Hardly waited for a table and were treated well by the staff! Great chips and salsa (the ones they make there) and I had enchiladas! Delicious. Hot and a big portion. There were so many times I've been in that shopping center and passed los Agaves and never made the effort to go inside. That was definitely my mistake. Last night I went with a friend and we had a very, very memorable and delicious meal. The restaurant wasn't as crowned asWe sat down, but by the time our food came, it was quite busy. In fact, I believe almost every table was taken. The wait staff there are absolutely amazing. Super friendly and considerate. Eating that was an absolute pleasure. The menu was not too large and not too small. Many options available for any kind of eater. We had the large combo appetizer and honestly that would've been enough for dinner, It was so big. My Carne Asada burrito was scrumptious and overflowing with delicious steak. But the pièce de résistance was by far, the Mexican ice cream for dessert. For me, it was a memory back to my childhood days of eating at Chi chi's. The large ball of ice cream was crispy and covered in, I don't know what it was covered in actually, but there was chocolate sauce and strawberry sauce and whipped cream and it was a fried sweet delicious ball of yumminess. This updated review is in response to the owner with his reply that my personal review (which I place a high level of standards on myself to be factual and share my personal experience honestly) I posted that my food (Meat in the Mexican pizza specifically) was cold / Luke warm and that it would most likely have not passed if a food inspector went. The owner replied that "I found your last comments to be in poor taste and most undoubtedly unfactual and unnecessary." My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant in between our Saturday girls shopping day! We were hungry and decided to try it out. It's not far from Target on Okeechobee. We sat at the bar and had a super tasty sangria! It was huge! We also enjoyed their white queso, which was incredible. Our bartender was great and very nice. We shared the la crema enchiladas and it was excellent. Will definitely be back to try more options! They have a great menu and lots to offer for everyone. Where has this gem been? I clearly missed it. I mean it's rare that I come out to the Royal Palm area. The margaritas frozen or not were buy one get one free, score! The service was great, our server was so much fun, he checked in on us often, he def made sure our food was prepared the way we asked. So all of us took our food home as the portions were a lot or it could be we drank to many frozen drinks lol. The place stayed busy from what we saw. Back at this strip mall with plenty of parking in front. When we stepped inside we were in Mexico. The decor, music & scents transported us. Thirty-eight lunch specials all under $12 from 11:00 until 3:00. We are back in a booth in the main dining room. Tried taquitos today & my husband stuck with his taco combo again. My personal favorite for authentic Mexican food. I have been to this restaurant 3 times. They have a large menu with many different and delicious options to choose from. They keep the dining room and tables clean and comfortable for all guests coming in. Their food is consistently delicious. The service is great. I want to make note that I was just here on 3/28 at around 4:30pm. I cannot complain about the food because it's really good. We have been here a few times and never had anything but positive things to say. On the other hand I cannot say the same about the service we received today. Our service today was non existing. I can't remember the last time we had service like today. We received absolutely no service to meet any of our needs from just getting a refill, a side of sour cream or even the right item that we order. I always look to eat at a local establishment before any chain restaurant and today I guess we picked the wrong day. Next time when I want delicious Mexican Food I'll have to look else where. To the manager here, I just want to say that the food is very good but as customers we should at least deserve decent service to match what we are paying to eat. This is a great local gem for RPB. It's located in the Winn Dixie plaza. A great authentic Mexican restaurant with a lot of options. We stopped by here for lunch and they have a great lunch options. We were seated right away & was served chips and salsa. They gave us 2 types, spicy and mild. Both were great. We ordered the quesadilla combo with shredded beef. It was delicious. We also ordered the steak asada bowl. Very flavorful. The restaurant has a lot of seating with Mexican decor. They also serve Coca Cola products. Had early dinner there last Friday, it had been a while since I visited. Our cocktails were watered down - cheap quality. Our waiter kept rushing us to order but we were not in a hurry and There were plenty of empty tables. The food was ok, not spectacular, just average. After receiving our meals, he never came to check on us at all...until he brought the check. That was a turnoff; should at least come ask if we needed anything. I will give it two stars because the Pollo con queso is actually really good but it's just chicken smothered with cheese. I ordered the flauta which traditionally all over Mexico they make with flour tortilla, but not here. They made it with corn and the rude waitress told me that if I wanted flour, I should've ordered a taquito which to me traditionally is made with corn at every single Mexican restaurant around aside from this one. (which it does not say on the menu.) They put the crispy flauta on top of soaking wet bed of lettuce which intern made it soggy and not really edible . The margaritas taste like some kind of soap or Pine-Sol mix.. The staff isn't really friendly and I believe the only reason this place does as well as it does is because the area that it's in, there's nothing else around here . It has a cool vibe. Poor quality food. This was not only the worst Mexican food but the worst food I've had anywhere. I took my family to have dinner at this restaurant because the reviews were good. Party of four, four mediocre meals. My carne asada was disgusting. My daughter's enchilada was so bad she ended up just eating the chips and salsa. My granddaughter took one bite of her chicken taco and said it didn't taste like chicken. I took a bite of it and it tasted like chicken from a can. My other granddaughter ordered the chicken tenders with fries. She liked the fries but not the chicken tenders. I tried a piece of one of her chicken tenders and it tasted worse than precooked frozen chicken. We liked the chips and salsa, and the waitress did a good job.
