I went to salon for a pedicure/manicure and eyebrow wax. As I was having my brows waxed it was more painful than normal. Well you can see why. They ripped off several layers of skin. I have never had an experience like this. I wax my eyebrow approximately every three weeks. When I explained to the folks at the saloon that I was experiencing pain and burning in the area they put aloe gel on which I then asked to stop as it was making it worse. I went back in this morning to show them how much worse it had gotten over night. They seemed unsure how to handle and passed me from person to person. Visiting for a wedding and was in dire need of a pedicure. Was able to get in quickly at 930am on a Saturday, which is typically a busy time in my hometown due to weddings and such. Seems the clients here were steady but not overwhelming and there were enough nail techs to go around. I opted for the Sport pedicure, which was a premium pedi with a a lot if scrubs and moisturizer, which as I mentioned my feet were shameful so this really did the trick. It was $45 when all was said and done, which I think is a fair/mid range price for the service. I did note how clean and up to date the spa looked, and they do use single use covers on the foot spas and break open newly cleaned tools. Highly recommend. Toes look divine now! read more

I have patronized this salon in the past and found it to be a pleasant experience. I went for the first time in two years and it felt very different. When I walked in I was greeted with a blast of chemical vapor, even though I was wearing a KN95 mask. The place was packed with clients and the air ventilation was clearly inadequate to handle the acrylic and other services that were being offered. I endured 40 min. and left with a splitting headache, and won't return again. I mentioned it to my therapist who tried to help by opening the back door but someone closed it within a few minutes. I was able to escape the fumes; I feel sorry for the people who have to work in that environment! read more

I bought my mom a gift certificate for this place for Christmas. When I bought the certificate I asked for a receipt and I was told "we don't do that". The certificate was very generic thus I wanted a receipt to be clear that it was from La Miranda. No dice. My mom saved the gift certificate until now and made an appointment 2 weeks ago for today February 14th at 9am. She showed up today and her name was no where to be found in the appointment book and was told that there were no slots left today. My mom explained that it needed to be done today (that is why she made the appointment 2 weeks ago) with close friends coming all the way from Canada to visit for the first time ever and to look nice for Valentines Day. Since she needed to have her nails done today she requested a refund for the gift certificate so that she could go somewhere else asap. She was told that they do not give refunds. Meanwhile the place was filled with customers who were witnessing the whole thing (quite embarrassing!). My mom rightfully demanded a refund since they screwed up and finally after a lot of back and forth they gave it to her and she went elsewhere. My mom is a Marco Island local, not just a tourist, and she is a member of many local clubs and my dad also lives and works on the island with many interactions of both locals and tourists. After such a horrible experience and bad customer service she will never be back and we will cetainly never refer anyone to La Miranda. Thank you for ruining her Christmas present and Valentines Day all in one La Miranda, not too smooth! If you can't even take care of the locals I feel really bad for the tourists. Avoid this place and go somewhere else on the island if you know whats best for you. read more

Great place! I've come here 2x when I'm visiting my folks. Always packed. They were extremely thorough with my pedi, my feet needed some love! 2nd time I came they were a little light on my gel mani polish, prob should have done 3 coats. Overall, very clean, friendly staff, prices seemed a little high, even compared to NYC. It was around $70 for gel mani/pedi plus then tip. Typically I'll pay $55/$60 and get a little back massage. Would suggest to make sure to call and make an appointment ahead of time, not the most favorable to walk-ins, since they are busy, which is a good sign! :) read more

Nail service with Sandra was acceptable. She won't talk to you (language barrier I think) and she did dig into my cuticles with her fingernails a little too hard, but that wasn't the deal breaker. When checking out, I asked if I could add the tip to my card and was told they prefer cash. What!? I'm on vacation with just my debit card and honestly that just comes across rude. I should have said If you don't want my money, then I'll gladly keep it. Also, when I told the guy at the desk I don't have cash, I still wrote in the tip and was not thanked for my business or even told to have a nice day. I tried speaking with the manager instead of leaving this review, but was told they were unable to speak with me. No Bueno on the customer service. I really have enjoyed my last several appts. I found Dan and he does a nice job. Works hard to be sure I'm pleased. Although I left a both postive and negative review after my first appt this summer. The owner sought me out and apologized for the negative things and made things more than right. She did not have to do that as I had come back a few times by then buy she had missed me. The spa is beautiful and they are very clean and change liners on peficure chairs and implements with every client. I highly recommend. If you have an issue I am sure if given a chance they will do their best to make it right. Also, most of the time spas or salons are backed up is clients showing up late so be on time! read more

I came in for a gel manicure after one of my nails broke badly on the side and needed fixing. I reminded the technician multiple times to be careful with it yet she forgot when she was taking off my previous gel and inflicted horrible pain. She also cut the nail extremely short after this when I had told her to be careful because the skin under my nail grows high on my thumbs. The pain and stinging was so bad. If it wasn't for another technician, who I believe was the owner, who stepped in and added liquid gel to my one nail to help salvage the cracked part, I don't know what I would have done. Horrendous. Immense discomfort and pain. I also had to tell the technician over and over again to cover my full nail with polish and start from the cuticle. Looked like my nails were done for over a week already. Horrible experience here overall, even though my nails came out looking "good," definitely NOT worth the 38$ I paid for this service. read more

Probably the worst money spent on my vacation. I took myself & my 2 daughters for a much needed pedicure. My oldest daughter did a basic pedi with gel, and if you look at the prices they are running a special right now for 33$. My other daughter and I opted for the 45$ pedi with a 5$ add on of paraffin wax. I will tell you, I do a spa pedicure at a high end spa where I am from every 3 weeks, but with the current situation, i have been unable to do so (covid19). So I thought I would support a local business here on the island while on vacation, and it was just a mistake. Not only was I over charged, but the woman that did my pedi pulled too much off (ski /nail) and it was bleeding. She did not even acknowledge this terrible and hurtful mistake until after my foot was soaking and I said it hurt! This was just yesterday, and my toes still hurts terribly. On top of that disaster that polish looks like a 10 yr old did it. I will attach a picture for you to see the paint job and the red spot from the bleeding on my big toe. My total bill came to 175.00, 33$+ 50$ + 50$= 133.00 not 175.00$. One might think my pedicure might have been free due to the bleeding and pain. Sorry, in 20+ years of pedicures this has never happened. Such a disappointment. read more
