In the Hotel Amerian there is a bar and lounge on the first floor, and a restaurant a level below. The restaurant looks out over the pool area, which in turn has a great view of Brazil and Paraguay, and the two rivers that meet below.
The two of us started in the bar/lounge with absolutely wonderful service from Timoteo- and the experience was so good we continued through dinner with him. The house specialty of 3 fishes from the three countries was perfect, and the wine list was our favorite of the four places where we ate dinners in Puerto Iguazu. Eating at La Mision was our favorite experience in town - but maybe because it's in a hotel it isn't well known. We never saw any signage for it, neither at the street entrance to the hotel, nor inside the lobby. It's very much worth seeking out, though, especially if you get service of the quality Timoteo offered us. And don't miss the spectacular view from the rooftop bar of the "3 Borders." The bar was closed, but we did go up for what may be the best place to see the 2 rivers. read more
