Papas a la mejicana w/ Bacon & Egg Breakfast Taco Chorizo & Egg, papas was added with sauce.

Clean, budget, tasty, authentic, fresh, hot quality breakfast/lunch plates and/or single taco options. And "YES". the Corn & flour tortillas are hand made like "Abuelita" use to roll out. Very tasty, flavorful and the size of tortillas is much bigger than ones hand. The food is very hot & fresh and takes just minutes to come out. I started coming here for the sweetbread, and eventually tried the tacos, wow I was very impressed as I didn't expect it to be so good being a bakery. It's been my "Go-To" spot for years now, as El Pato is just a few yards away and gets extremely packed at lunch and honestly their tacos are smaller and not consistent. But still go to. El Pato out of necessity when Il just going to drive through and can't stop. The food here at La Morenita Bakery has a more homemade authentic "casera" flavor to me, and they do not skimp or cheat you out of your hard earned dollars here. The seating chairs are iron patio furniture, so not extremely comfy however it's not agonizing and worth the 15-30 minutes you'll spend their, besides if you go solo as I do, there is a little bar with stools up against the entrance wall that is very cozy and private. And then again, there's always the "to-go" take back to work/office option. My favorite is the papas a la mejicana & chorizo/egg tacos one on flour & one on corn with a side of coffee with panecito. But EVERYTHING is hot & tasty - you won't regret it. Service is friendly, and it's basically the owner, helper & cook but worth the wait of about the average time depending on orders ahead of you of course, but help yourself to some sweetbread & coffee and check your emails while you wait, before you know it that hot plate will be placed in front of you. Mmmmmm soooo good. Overall this place is a hidden little secret as people jstop by for sweetbread not knowing about the good tacos available., but hey, have a seat & have a hot, fresh taco or two you won't be disappointed - I'm very picky, but not a complainer knowing everyone works hard in this food industry, besides on bad experiences I just "boycott" - and I keep myself on a reasonable budget and don't like snobby - look at me - high end busy restaurants, so if you just want an AUTHENTIC private little time to yourself- this is your spot too. Greetings "Mac"

I come here to buy pig shape bread, 3 leches cake, or barbacoa on weekends. I like the sweet bread.

You possibly need to know a little Spanish. Great tacos and delicious charro beans. I will return!read more

This place feels like your mom is cooking in the kitchen…read more.. I've tried multiple plates...and each plate was delicious, well portioned, flavorful, delectable...I can go on. First thing you cannot beat the prices. Enchilada plates for $7... fajita plates for $8...The fajita is cooked to order when I went so it comes out with a nice sizzle. The refried beans have that nice sheen on it which means lard was used to cook them...making them so tasty. The rice looked fluffy...the veggies in them do not taste from frozen and the rice was perfectly cooked. They also make their own tortillas. I went with flour...and who doesn't love just mixing in everything all at once...little bit of fajita, some beans, some rice...that taco was a bite of heaven. The enchiladas are amazing...I had suizas with chicken inside. Most places use shredded chicken as a filler...but it's usually boiled or not seasoned. The lady used pollo guisado for the filling...so it went perfect with the salsa and the cheese. Bomba! And the menudo...I'll be honest, what threw me off was the texture of the menudo. It was very soft ...but I cannot complain. It had layers of flavors...the tripe was soft..no fat on it. It was clean and perfectly cooked...with lime on it, perfect dish for a Sunday morning. I will say...the place is small. But I won't knock it for that. Biggest table is only for 4 people and it'll be a tight fit...but hey, get it to go. Not a problem... And customer service is the best. I've stopped multiple times, and want to try all their dishes. I recommend the same for everyone.
