I'm not sure what all the low rating are for....... Mall of America is a tourist destination so many people (like myself) will probably never return to this place...... with that being said I didn't expect the results from my at home nail salon and had low expectations here since I was desperate and they were open. With that being said it was amazing!! I will say the cost is high.....$52 for a deluxe pedicure..... however it's a TOURIST DESTINATION...... I expected to pay more. My lady was very very hard to understand but I took a breath said "no gel" and she understood. Got the deluxe and it was the most amazing massage I have ever got! Zero stars. The whole thing - mani and pedi took 15 -20 minutes. I said I didn't want my fingernails cut straight and that I wanted curved and the lady practically yelled, "I know!!" and rolled her eyes at me. My chair was broken which is fine except the rollers were stuck jutting out and into my back the whole time. I'm not entirely sure how a cuticle pusher is even useful when the thing doesn't even touch the cuticle or taps it for one second. After listening to them for 20 minutes straight, I looked over at my friend and said "oh my gosh" they both gave me a "look" so I said I come here to relax" they stopped talking for about 10 minutes then they started up again. I went her with my friends about 2 weeks ago. We were all desperate to get our nails done so we decided to just go here. Right off the bat they were rude and loud when we walked in. I showed her a reference photo and she said it was going to be $70! The photo on the wall said a full set acrylic was $45. All I wanted was a square French tip. Anyways! the beginning experience wasn't to bad. But when she got to the electric filing, it was so painful. She was scraping off my natural nails and cutting way past the cutical line. They called mall security on us! OK after that title got your attention I am going to get into the nitty-gritty of this starting from the beginning. I am 19 years old I was with two of my older nieces who are both 14 and 15 years old I was taking them out for a mall day which just so happen to be Black Friday (however there was no line for this establishment and for good reason pssss :it's cus they suck) When we walked in we were greeted and promptly asked what we wanted I told her clearly one of the girls was getting a color change(as she already had acrylic nails) One of the girls was getting a full set (Bare hands) and I was getting a fill and a color change. She escorted us to the back where we spent about seven minutes picking out colors once we decided on her colors we were instructed to sit down Don't get me wrong the lady I was sitting with was very nice and we had a nice conversation keep in mind I'm a genuinely quiet person so I prefer to talk quietly if not whisper especially in quiet situations such as the salon, Because I was sitting away from both of my nieces I cannot tell you their experience but I can tell you how mine went when she was putting the tool that sans off your nail it was cutting my cuticles several times it was super painful and I pulled and jerked my hand away just for her to yank it back and tell me stop moving I ended up getting a pretty painful hangnail she had not applied any color yet but after all of that painful mess she finished up with applying the acrylic base and told me to go wash my hands On my way to wash my hands I figured I would check up on my nieces one of them was almost done and drying her hands I told her to let me see her nails they looked really nice and I told her to keep drying them just to make sure I went to my other niece she had just gotten her acrylic base on and it looked it nice as well I guess I was taking too long talking to my family members which I didn't know was a crime and the workers in the Establishment started speaking their language and pointing obviously I don't know exactly what was said but I had a very uncomfortable vibe I went to the bowl to wash my hands which was in the back of the salon and when I turned around to my surprise the door was locked THEY LOCKED US IN THE SALON THATS KIDNAPPING!!!! and she was rushing me to pay even though I told her I just wanted to make sure my nieces nails were looking nice as she had not done the color on my nails first she ended up calling mall security and here's the funny part he told her that it was a fire violation which I had been telling them the whole time and he also told the owner that he would be getting a write up for locking the door so jokes on them and he kept saying we were trying to run out honey if we were trying to run out we would've ran but like I stated before there was no color on my nails and one of my nieces hands weren't done they must've thought that we didn't have any money so I decided to pull up my bank account to show them how much I had in my account they refused to look the security guard stayed around for a little bit but pretty much sided with us as obviously I'm here writing this review and I'm clearly not in jail for something that happened yesterday then The owner was like do you want to talk to the cops and I'm like what for I have money on my card you people are rushing me to pay for a rude service that's completely overpriced keep in mind the other people getting their nails done in the salon as well and they wanted to get up and leave and they pretty much held them against their will as well I know this review is all over the place and I'm sorry for it being long but it should go without saying don't give your business to any nail salon or hair salon in the mall of America just go to a regular nail salon near your area malls charge way over what they're worth for bad customer service for the three services stated at the beginning of this review I paid over $100 which is absolutely unacceptable If we would've went to fantasy nails or TJ nails altogether we probably would've paid less than $40 and got way better service I don't have pictures of my nieces nails but I'll show you how mine turned out Mine is sooo crooked read more

I had dip powder nails that were broke and two of my nails had been torn as a result. The nail tech didn't put tips on the broken nails to make them look nice and similar to all of my other nails. The entire time she kept asking me if I liked the color and eventually started telling me that a couple previous customers had run out without paying. They charged $60 for the dip manicure, which I can understand paying more than normal since it is the Mall of America, but also a $10 fee to remove my prior dip nails. First off I absolutely love how my nails turned out, they were beautifully done and the nail tech took her time to make them perfect (she filed my nails a bit hard but it's alright I'm not cut or anything)! My only issue would be the price and I'm not trying to sound stingy because I had already anticipated on spending some moolah but this place was definitely more expensive than other salons I've visited. I usually get the gel full set almond shaped nails and it costs me around 45-50 tip included. LA nails however, charges extra $10 for shaping the nails any other shape besides the round square and square shape- so that kinda sucks cus the gel full set alone was already $55. I definitely appreciated the service, color options and turnout however I spent 150 tip included for mine and my sisters and it seemed just a bit too much. If you don't mind the price go for it, they did a very good job, but I will be going to salons outside of the mall that costs less for the same results. read more

Never again. Went there for my birthday to get some pampering and left feeling so uncomfortable and annoyed. I got a fill and it took over an hour and a half. The technician globbed on the gel polish, which I seriously felt pressured into...and of course a week later it's peeled off and two of my nails have broken off. The quality just wasn't there...and it was $70 for a gel fill...that is just outrageous. I swear the lady told me it was going to be $48 when I walked in. I'm also really disappointed in the level of professionalism at this salon. Of course they were talking about the customers in Vietnamese, including myself. Being Vietnamese myself, it's really cringe worthy being in salons when this starts to happen. We were visiting MN for the weekend from Maryland, and spent a few hours at the Mall of America. Almost 2 of those hours were spent in this nail salon, for a simple mani-pedi. Yes, 2 hours for a mani-pedi, you heard that right. Here's my review: 1. RIDICULOUSLY LONG WAIT: Upon arrival, I was told that there was a 15-20 minute wait. I wrote my name down and then stepped out to get a snack from the Mall food court. Came back, and my spot was taken. I was instructed loudly to sit down at an open station in the tiny, crowded room. Which I did - for 20 minutes. My husband sat down in the waiting area and decided to nap. 2. IGNORED, NO SERVICE TILL 45 MINUTES OF WAITING: Still at a mani station, no one paid me any attention, until finally a nail tech brusquely barked at me to sit at a pedicure station. I did, and no water was turned on, just my feet in a dry, dirty tub. I then proceeded to sit there, completely ignored, for another 25 minutes. So far, 45 minutes of waiting and no actual nail services performed. My husband at this point was resigned to a nap (which he didn't get to have, since a loud, unattended child was climbing all over him in the waiting area). 3. CHEAP, HORRIBLE EQUIPMENT: The pedicure soaking tub had no whirlpool jets to massage your feet or circulate the water. This is a basic feature that I've seen at every salon I've ever been to. So when they finally turned the water on after 25 minutes, my feet soaked in stagnant uncirculating water. Lovely. Next, the "massage chairs" had no massage function! The lady next to me who was also getting a pedi, pointed this out, and we both asked a nail tech why. She responded that the remote controllers for the massage chairs kept falling into the water and so they got rid of them entirely. Ooookay. So basically we're paying for what is normally a standard feature of pedicures - a vibrating massage chair - except it doesn't work, like the water tub jets. 4. UPSELL: The nail tech kept urging me to upgrade both my mani and pedi to the more expensive shellac version. I politely told her that we were visiting from another state and were kind of in a hurry to get to my father-in-law and meet my grandmother-in-law at her nursing home in St. Cloud - I didn't mention the fact that by now they had already made me wait almost an hour before my nails were even touched. She looked annoyed when I said no to the extra services. 5. AWFUL PAINT JOB: My toenails were painted fine, which merits the one-star in this review. But when they moved me to the manicure station, it was terrible! They diluted the pretty red color I chose until it was weak and flimsy. My manicure was on a late Friday, and by Sunday it was completely chipped - no, not chipped, more like peeling and ripped off my nail almost entirely! Every other mani I've ever had has chipped after maybe 5-6 days (a week) - but this one took a day and a half to chip? WTF?! She applied the polish haphazardly and left jagged unshaped edges on my nails. She also overbuffed them to the point that I was in pain! By now it was almost 2 hours later and I felt so bad for my husband! We had somewhere to be, and we were now super late. All this, for $45?? I should have gone to the Nail Trix in the Mall instead. read more

The water was cold, the lady cut a toe nail too short, she made my toe bleed while clipping my hang nails, each step she quickly put on and quickly wiped off. Didn't massage my feet at all. I was not pleased by how rude the employee's here were to me when I asked about pricing but I still stayed to get my nail's done. I requested a soak off for my gel nails which was a horrible experience, the soak off bowl was extremely small and the nail tech cut me at the corner of my cuticle and wanted to proceed with doing sns powder for my nails. Then they keep using the electric file to remove the gel which made my natural nails paper thin rather than relying on the soak off process. The guy who apparently is a manager, takes care of my daughter. And during the process he comments that she "must like to eat" commenting on her adolescent shape. Bad experience. Cut my toe nails too short. Bleeding as I walked out the spa and having to walk ACROSS THE MALL! No massaging chair. That's a big highlight for me. I go for the hygiene and massaging. My nails after this treatment aren't as clean as my normal salon does. I could have done this on my own. Good scrubbing of the feet. Cash tips preferred, sign says. I am posting this review on my friends behalf. She does not have yelp, therefore this is her review: Very disappointing place. The woman that was doing my pedicure rushed me to choose my color choice. She barely would let me see the choices before yelling at me to sit down. They use no salts or anything in the water when receiving a pedicure. The chairs don't work properly for the massage part. They don't trim the nails or remove the dead skin. After questioning those services they tell you that you need to pay extra for that. If you want a gel color over a regular color it's a $23 difference. That's ridiculous to pay that much more for a color choice. Most places offer you a bevarage when receiving this kind of service. Not here. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I've experienced much better. A few issues from minor to really annoying: The display for the polish is really annoying, so that you can't see an entire side of polish colors when someone is at a drying station. Minor, but annoying. I got a mani/pedi, and both were sub-par. The water for the pedicure was freezing. I kept asking her to turn the temperature up, which she would do, but then she would rinse off my feet with frigid water and the whole basin would be cold again. There was no foot massage- she just put Bath & Body Works body lotion on my feet and ankles and that was it. She also did minimal scrubbing of calluses (as in about 30 seconds), and no cuticle shaping. There was no where to put my stuff (like a little table or anything) while getting the pedicure, so they ended up having us stack our purses, coats, etc. on a chair across the room (so then I couldn't access my lipgloss, etc.--again, minor, but annoying). More annoying: I had to ask multiple times for the nail tech to actually cover my whole nail with polish. She would cover all but 1/16 of an inch at the edges, but it was minor extra work for her to cover the entire nail, and was noticeable until I asked her to fix it. On my fingers, it was actually worse: I did a gel manicure, and the missed areas of my nail were dramatic. Finally, we were pressured over and over again to do gel on both hands and feet. We went in wanting a simple mani-pedi, and I had already agreed to upgrade my nails to gel. It was annoying that the only conversation our techs engaged in was pressuring us to get gel pedis, as well. My friend with me had a different tech (actually two, since they pounded out the mani-pedi on her all at once...forget the whole semi-enjoyable experience it's supposed to be), and her poor experience was basically the same. Your money will be MUCH better spent (it isn't cheap here, either!) at most other salons. Skip this stop at the mall and spend your cash somewhere else. read more
