My experience today at this supermarket was terrible! I bought some groceries on 4/2/ 2022. As usual, some vegetables are bad. I bought a coconut along with other grocery items. I chopped it the next day, it was rancid, black and moist. No water! I tried to return it to the store today 4/8/2022 and the manager tried to tell me I drank it and brought it back. I had my receipt and the coconut. Why would i buy hundred of dollars in produce at a store that cannot do an exchange for one small item, within 7 days of purchase. Coconut don't spoil after 7 days. It was just a matter of having produce in their store too long. I will be reporting this tody to Division of Consumer affairs. read more

I crave this place. Finding one of the most delicious lunches in town is worth the parking lot hassle and long line. To me, this place is exactly what you want out of a local hole in the wall joint. The place is actually a grocery store, that has been steadily growing into a restaurant. The store is ample, and has a large selection of fresh produce and meats, along with every other accompaniment for a Latin American meal. The cafeteria style lunch line is where it is though. Every day, they cook up a good breakfast (which I'll admit I never go for, although the two times I have..it was good) and best hot lunch around. All for almost nothing! The pork is one of the best dishes I have tried, and I always get it with the yellow rice, beans and either Yuca or Plantains. A large (enough for dinner too) is only $5.99. They also have delicious steak, chicken, ropa vieja, fish and whatever else they can think of cooking up for the day. On the end of the counter, you will find fresh salads and a deli case. I have not ordered deli meat, but the highest price is $5.99lb for the pastrami. I have had the sandwiches (tripleta is my favorite) and they are all great. I almost never leave without an empanada. Personally, I will go with either the jamon y queso, pollo or carne. You can't go wrong with any of them. Ordering lunch is a great way to try and freshen up your Spanish speaking skills. read more

This is the average Spanish supermarket with great products but they don't manage very well the lines for the to go buffet around lunchtime are ridiculous and the women are so slow and you get on line only to be informed you have to pay for the sandwich first only to wait again .Thats the main reason will go elsewhere for my great Spanish products read more

My siblings family found this little gem while on vacation in Orlando. She was and my BIL were impressed with the quality and the eatery and how reasonable the prices were. I finally got a chance to experience to purchase and taste the Puerto Rican food and OMG the food was so good. I will be definitely be going back. La Isla, you need to also be in JaX. read more

Our hotel was across the street from the market. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and combo 2 pernil with rice, beans and fried bananas.. everything was delicious.. prices affordable and good portions.... If there is a line out the door for the Puerto Rican lunch counter, at lunch, maybe it might be good? Plus all those in line are for the most part non-English speakers. Mofongo is exceptional. It even has little bits of pork rinds in it. All for $5.99. This place is fantastic! The first language of most everyone working here is Spanish, but they are incredibly friendly even if the only Spanish word you know is "gracias." Their produce is abundant, and less expensive than Walmart. Their food line, however, is the real reason I go there. White rice, yellow rice, plantains, yuca, chicken stew, roasted chicken, carnitas, and an array of beef options.... Also, they have an avocado/red onion salad that my mouth waters just thinking about. I love going here, I don't care that they don't speak the same language as myself. My only issue is the parking lot. You try going between 11:30-1:30, the parking is a nightmare. But, I love the friendly people. And I crave the delicious food here. Really 4.5 out of 5, I wish they had the available expenses to pay for expanding their parking lot! read more

It is a very small supermarket. It is not in great shape and it isn't always clean to my liking but the meat here is very cheap and very tasty and the produce very cheap and a LOT better than the ones at publix. If you can get over the look of the store it is a great place to shop. read more

This place came highly recommended & we know why. Be aware that it is take-out only! We tried a variety of different selections. The pork & beef were both tender & had amazing flavor. The lasagna was also excellent. There were three different rice choices & red beans. They ran out of fried plantains so we only had a few of them to enjoy. Prices were very reasonable! If you are thinking about going to this place go to tropicomofongo it is way better... every time I would go I would have a issue with my food! I decided to give them one last chance and ordered a simple order and when the lady the was serving me was also using chemicals to clean and at no time changed her gloves, when I finally got my food I noticed this long hair in the middle of my plate! I said to myself here we go again, ask to speak to a manager and they could not find him! They offered more food with hair in it, and I respectfully decline. Another employee comes and tells me what did I paid with and I said cash!!! She then tells me to swipe my card, I tell her I paid with cash again and she tells me to calm down and I have to wait for a manager! I wait 10 minutes for a manager and hear. The employees talking bad about me in Spanish, the manager finally comes and I tell him his employees needs better costumer service! He starts to curse at me and tell me that I better not ever come back. I felt threatened and very uncomfortable! I hope no one ever has to deal with this type of disrespect! The coffee is terrible and the customer service is even worse. When we when to get breakfast, almost everyone working that we encountered had a dismal attitude. They ignored us, then were almost sassy when simply doing their jobs. There was a piece of paper in the food, also. Additionally, when we went to the counter, the clerk was filing her nails over the counter, where dozens of people have their packaged and unpackaged foods pass through everyday. And not really sure I would want to try something from a place that looks like and smells like it hasn't been cleaned since the business opened it's doors. This is best Latin Supermarket in Florida. I visited this supermarket while visiting Florida. I found rice typically found in Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico coffee several to choose. They have everything needed to make homemade Sofrito. They even sell fresh made Sofrito, not the frozen ones. They have all the Goya products. I went crazy shopping and brought back a lot of items with me to North Carolina. If you are a typical Latina Cook this is the place for you. read more

Supermarket had all the latin produce we were looking for and for a good price. We ended up having lunch as they served yellow rice with quarter chicken, beans, yellow plantain and bottle of water all for $5.40 (tax included). Portion was large enough for two of us to eat. What a treat! read more
