I've never picked this restaurant, yet, somehow, I've been here twice!…read more Both times I've been here with a group and someone else chose the restaurant. This first time was in April 2022 with a group of about 15-20 people. It was recommended by a local. I do think this is one of the nicer restaurants in town, but it's very much aimed at tourists which is why I'm not that into it. The prices are high and the service was abysmal. Both times we were at this restaurant for no joke, over 3 hours! The second time we came, we were with a much smaller group, but we were still there for 3.5 hours ‍. ‍‍ The food is fine, but nothing to write home...or Yelp about. The first time we had a molcajete which was okay, but kind of bland. It was very expensive. The next time we were brought here, we got the guacamole to share which everyone at our table raved about last time. This was good, but was so pricey at $9. Thankfully, my friend saw there were specials of the day listed online which I never would have seen. I ordered both specials: a shrimp taco and an octopus taco. My husband had the shrimp fajita plate. I enjoyed my shrimp taco the best, but the octopus taco was good too. Again, everything was good but just felt like they were catering to American tourists' palates and wallets. I would not choose to go here again especially due to the huge time suck this takes out of your day (especially with a toddler), but if I'm brought here again.... Okay, I guess.

Fish and shrimp tacos, shrimp with octopus cocktails, and ceviche tostadas. San Felipe has been known for its huge fresh shrimp for a long time, though there was a lull in the quality and quantity when the Mexican government made a deal with Japan to allow commercial fishing. Which in turn destroyed the fishery for at least 10+ years and some species are now more rare to come across. Slowly, it seems now the shrimp and fish have made a solid comeback and now seem more plentiful overall. We have bought shrimp to bring home from street vendors and once in a while, here they will sell you shrimp if you want to to take home frozen. We have done this a couple times at least and it was a great value. Fast forward to now, there has been no decline in the quality of the tacos and ceviches here at all and remains a preferred spot for us and a must stop on every visit here! The freshest place we know by far. Never had a bad experience or plate here, and we've had numerous for sure. We just haven't went wrong here and prices are super reasonable for all menu items. We've even got to know the owners over the years and watched their kids grow up. That personal family touch is hard to resist along with quality. They are always open, and you'll see and understand why if you just try practically anything on menu. Just do it if you're in town!

This place popped up to have the best ratings/reviews on google so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant faced the beach which was an amazing site to see after a 4 hour drive from Indio, CA. We ordered their fish tacos, shrimp ceviche, and tried their $1 oysters. Their fish tacos came out hot and fresh and they were soooo good. You can put as much of the toppings on top (the shredded lettuce, the pico, and their white and orange sauce). The shrimp ceviche was pretty good too as it was stacked with so much shrimp and they even gave you extra tostadas. As for the oysters, definitely pass on them because they were not fresh at all. Overall, this place had amazing fish tacos that we even came back a second time before heading back home. The fish tacos were only 30 pesos ($1.77 US)! What a steal :)

The mango chipotle I believe is the one that took the prize. All options are good I haven't had anything that has been bad. I recommend the Campechena as personal favorite it includes oysters, shrimp, snails, octopus, clams, and scallops. They might throw other items in or remove depending on what is available. They normally have pata de mula or blood clams a great appetizer, I believe they translate to blood clams not sure. As an appetizer the agauachiles are always great. I spent a good $110 for 6 people they take debit cards such as visa, pesos, and dollars. There is dedicated parking in the front on the malecon and there is parking in the back a small parking area. For tourists and first time visitors this is the best place for you to visit.
