October, 2017: this is our fifth visit to Italy, and during these visits we have had many fine meals. But La Palmira, a small, quiet restaurant on a pedestrians only street that runs parallel to the seafront, provided us with absolutely the best meals. The service was excellent, even though we don't speak Italian and the server spoke limited English. La Palmira is in San Terenzo (a 20 minute walk from Lerici) in the Liguria region, a region noted for its seafood. And seafood we ate. We visited La Palmira three times, and had outstandingly flavorful and fresh mussels, clams, tuna and lobster in delicious broths and sauces, with fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables and greens, and delicious pasta and ravioli. I offered to peel garlic for the chef for six weeks so I could take the first baby steps towards cooking his recipes. It was that good. Go, you won't be sorry! read more
