I don't Yelp that often, but as an American tourist, I've found that traveling overseas and using reviews to find places to eat to be a challenge (and a combination of using the G-word reviews and Yelp). This place didn't show up in Yelp, and I like the opportunity for that rare 'First to Review', so here I am with a fellow Yelper. On our last day in Barcelona, we were looking for a brunch type place near our (Corner) hotel to find churros and chocolate, or really just any brunch place. This place looked clean, new, and by the looks among the clientele, trendy for women in their 20s. (Seriously, it was like being in a women's clothing store .. 90% women, at least on this Wednesday morning.) Warning for meat-eaters, La Papa is vegetarian. The food is delicious, gorgeously plated, and generously portioned. I'm not sure why my wife felt the need to order *4* items for the two of us, since the leftovers make us look like gluttonous/wasteful Americans, but that wasn't my call, and there are more pics to show for it. (I ate all the mushroom Baos, so there's that). If you're going to be inside awhile and on your phone, use the free wifi. And be prepared to wait for your order, art takes time. The food fits in with the ambience of La Papa. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a minimalist way that also shows attention to detail. Like Flintstones minimalist and earth tones meets Jetsons futuristic. There are very few sharp corners (which is a weird thing to notice, but I did). The windows are really clean. Which I noticed when I slammed into it while looking at my phone to walk outside to take a picture of the front. ‍ (correction, *were* really clean) All in all, a very pleasant place to have a tasty, leisurely lunch/brunch. Subtracted a star only because of the wait for the food, but if time is not an issue, then it'd be closer to 5 stars. Relax, take the time to admire the beauty and the curves of the place and presentation

Desserts but they have a lot of healthy egg dishes for breakfast and full kitchen

This place is great. It would make a mint in Southern California. Staff was friendly and cool. Restroom was clean. Decor was very unique and delightful. Coffee was the best I've had in Barcelona. I don't recommend the carrot cake because the cake was dense and spicy, but not moist.

I asked about something that was not on their menu, and they had the chef make it for us anyway--sliced tomatoes with olive oil and pulpos with garlic and olive oil instead of the tomato base sauce it normally comes with. Literally everything we ordered was fantastic. If you think I'm being biased because we were treated very well and our party had a wonderful time, then go ahead and call it bias. But the fact that we walked away happy, satisfied, and will have long-lasting memories at this place, then they succeeded! Restaurants are not strictly about the food. It's the entire experience. My family and friends will recommend this place to anyone going to Barcelona.

Every tapa we ordered was soooo goood that we started and ended our trip here we had the classic patatas bravas, jamón ibérico, croquettes, bacalao, & huevos cabreados - everything delicious. for dessert, we tried torrija quemada, churros con chocolate, crema catalana, and roscón borrachín. The vibe reminds me of a busy New York diner, which I love, so if you're looking for something more quiet and calm then this might not be the spot for you.

Caravelle is quaint and modern, and the service is definitely on the more lax side. Note: smaller parties may be seated at the communal table, and this place stays busy! Be prepared for a bit of a wait. I started with a café con leche, and although I'm not usually a sweets-for-breakfast kinda person, the croffle looked too enticing online to pass up. Being a huge egg aficionado, I also ordered a side of eggs à la carte. My coffee arrived quickly, but after waiting 30 minutes, I noticed that guests who had arrived after me were already enjoying their meals... When I checked in with the waiter, it turned out my order hadn't gone through at all. I had to reorder, and while waiting, I asked for another café con leche since I was long overdue for a refill. Unfortunately, that second coffee never came--but on the bright side, my meal eventually did. The croffle was freaking divine. Crispy/flakey on the outside, and soft inside. The cream was sweet, but not overpowering, and the tart of the berries balanced out the meal. As I was getting ready to check out, the waiter asked if I had ever received my second café con leche. Embarrassed for them, I admitted that I hadn't... Realizing they'd made ANOTHER mistake, he apologized profusely and quickly asked the barista to make me one to go. To compensate for my time and patience, he generously comped my entire meal, leaving me to pay only for the initial coffee (2.50 euros). Despite the service hiccups, the food was incredible--truly one of my favorite breakfasts in Spain.

Unfortunately, they weren't really that good. There was more cream than waffle, and the waffle itself didn't taste like anything. The cream had a weird taste; the only thing that was really delicious about it were the Oreos and Oreo bits on top. I also tried my friend's spirulina smoothie bowl, which she liked, but I didn't much. For drinks, I wanted to try the tiramisu coffee, but they were out, so I just had the hot chocolate. It was rich and sweet; I enjoyed it, but it wasn't exceptional. My friends had the Oreo vodka milkshake and the strawberry cheesecake vodka, which were, according to them, absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, the food and drinks I got weren't anything special. However, the vibe of this place is so cute and the service is very friendly!

Shout out to the server because I almost ordered a small breakfast that sounded great till he showed me a pic. I went with the Bagel breakfast with Eggs and ham on top. The bagel was thick and fluffy, not too doughy. They also add some crispy things to the top that added a nice texture and crunch. The coffee was good. Solid. Not excellent. But good. Service was a bit slow overall. Took a while to get our order in, then a really long time to get the food.
