The BEST quesabirria tacos I have ever had. This place is a hidden gem- I have come here twice now. The first time I could not believe how delicious the quesabirria tacos were, so I had to come again to make sure I didn't hallucinate that first experience. Luckily the tacos were just as delicious the second time! This is a family-run restaurant and it's great to be able to meet the amazing people making this amazing food and running this wonderful restaurant every time you come in. This is some of the best Mexican food in Kansas. The strawberry margarita I had was delicious as well. Will be hard to not just come here every time I'm in Lawrence from now on.

Being the first to review and now with a couple more dines under the belt (pun intended), high time I add another star for La Pasadita and go all five star happy. Why? Because in my opinion the torch for best tacos in town has been passed to this location according to my tastes. There's nothing missing here. In fact, there's more of late as they have their liquor license so a cerveza or some tequila (not my thing, but might be yours) to accompany your meal is a possibility. I love a good cold beer, but there's something special about a mango Jarritos with a set of tacos. Your tastes may vary. Other thing I've noticed: the town is getting what's going on here, the back end where the kitchen sits is really hopping and you can tell they're doing serious business. The seating was mostly full at lunch today so people are voting with their wallets. I dig it. Looking forward to many more fine meals here in the future. Now about that vegetarian taco they're offering... need to try that, but the tripas and asada were calling my name today, and how fine they were.

Al Pastor is excellent! Cumin at right just the right level to match the other ingredients in the burrito. Perfect with a Modelo cerveza. Family atmosphere. In an earlier review, I said it was a great taqueria. And it is. But there is something extra. It is a better experience than a typical Mexican restaurant. The food sings. The focus pays off.

I recommend this place to everyone. Hands down best quesabirria tacos. Everything they make is incredible, very authentic. Service is amazing and food comes quick. 10/10

I rated this based on what it is... a taco stand. I had the street tacos and they had the basic meat, onion and cilantro and small double corn tortillas. The meat was nicely flavored and a bit crispy. Very good. I'll be back to try the burritos. Welcome to the barker neighborhood!

Authentic Mexican food and drinks. Really good, but not fancy - food and ambience are like being in Mexico. Very good, though and the homemade salsa was fantastic. Also Pastor pork quesadilla was fantastic as was my wife's tamale. Churro was amazing. Michelada was best I've had outside Mexico.

Love this place!!!!! Very authentic!!! The gringa is only $8.50! Big enough to split with someone if you are not super hungry!!! Had the gringa with chicken. Very delicious! Also had the Jamaica drink. It's a hibiscus drink that is sweet, but not too sweet. The space is simple, clean with a repurposed decor. Bathroom is newly renovated and clean! Service is great! Parking is tricky. If you go when the tattoo shop is closed, you can park in front. During the day, we park behind Cottin's Hardware or one can park on New Hampshire St. If you are looking for chips and salsa, this is not the restaurant to go to. They don't serve chips. Not on the menu. As per alcohol- saw someone drinking a margarita and it made me want one. lol They have beers available, too. Mexican coke is available as well as other Mexican sodas. Check it out! Because in my opinion the torch for best tacos in town has been passed to this location according to my tastes. There's nothing missing here. In fact, there's more of late as they have their liquor license so a cerveza or some tequila (not my thing, but might be yours) to accompany your meal is a possibility. Gyah - this place is amazing. We had fantastic carnitas and al pastor tacos with beers and split a side of rice and beans--all for around 25$. Love the limited menu because the authentic flavor of these offerings is perfect and the essentials are all there. The tamales and tacos absolutely spank the others in town that I've tried, and having grown up in southern Arizona, I'm pretty opinionated. Absolute best, most authentic Mexican food we have had outside of the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez. You choose your meat for tacos - we chose the al pastor and carnitas, and the gringo quesadilla came with asada. The meats were mouthwatering and delicious. All of the toppings were fresh - cilantro, onion, avocado. Margaritas were real and fantastic! This is our new go-to! read more

Would rate 1 star if I could. Hair in my food and when I called to let the restaurant know and give me a refund they have an attitude about it. They claimed they couldn't confirm if the hair was put in from their restaurant or if it somehow made its way in there while I was driving home. I ordered the gringa which is a quesadilla. So they are accusing me of opening my quesadilla and putting a hair inside of it? Not to mention the food is boxed and bagged when you pick it up. I took two bites of it and my third bite pulled out a giant hair. Upon opening the quesadilla there was another hair. Their attitude about the situation is what is warranting the bad review. I haven't ventured to any taco spots here (I am not counting Burrito King). I honestly thought this was amazing. I got the Torta with al pastor. My son got a quesadilla. We split a horchata. It came out really fast. I honestly need to try more things. I bet they are all amazing. I will absolutely go back. read more

This place has totally delicious street tacos. I got carne asada, al pastor, and birria. Each came with the standard chopped onions, cilantro, and lime wedges. Every one of them was fantastic, but the al pastor and birria were particularly good and stole the show. Each taco was served on two corn tortillas that were fresh and very lightly crisped (but still totally foldable). My husband got an al pastor grinca, which was like a quesadilla with some lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeño, and avocado in it (in addition to the meat and cheese) and he said it was tasty. At 2.50 per taco they were very good and authentic street tacos. I will definitely make this one of my regular lunch spots. read more

At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. This is our "go to place" for when we don't want to spend a lot of money eating out, meaning we often eat there a couple of times a week.
