Lulu's has very good food. It is always crowded and it's a small restaurant. During the summer and spring there is outdoor seating. There are many food items to choose from on the menu. All the ones I have tried have been very good. The portions are decent and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and there is easy access. Again, the restaurant is very small so it tends to get crowded. I noticed a significant portion of their sakes was done from pickup. The staff is very nice and helpful. They are patient with my questions and queries. They are very pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended read more

This is the second time we have tried Lulus. Both times we thought it would be better based on the reviews. There are a few better places in Town I would say are better. Pork both times tasted "porky" and older. Biria tacos were fatty and meat to cheese ratio was off. read more

We don't live in Lawrence but found ourselves in town around dinner time and stopped in here after finding it on Yelp. It was delicious!!! It is a tiny space but cute and clean. The service was great. I had the combo #1 with birria taco and carnitas taco. It was delicious!!!! read more

We moved here 3 years ago. one of the first things we did was search for good Mexican food. We found a couple we liked, but nothing really hit until we found Lu Lu's a few months later, when they opened. This is the one. The place is small and it's always busy. I even heard that because of the wait to get into Lu Lu's the Chinese restaurant in the same shopping plaza has had an increase in business. read more

Fantastic food! Some of the best street tacos I've ever had in my life. The staff are very kind and come to check on you frequently. They love to play with the kids that come in! Wow excellent delicious food. They serve $5 lime margaritas All day and 7 days a week. They also have margaritas excellent drink menus. They serve free chips and salsa. My wife asked for a taco salad minus the tortilla shell and was given a cabbage shell instead. She said it was the best salad in Lawrence. She eats allot of salads around Lawrence. Found this spot when our first pick was closed. A great find! Food was really good! Interesting- not just standard Mexican food menu- The woman who waited on us was very friendly and answered questions easily. The portions of what we ordered were very generous. This wonderful new Mexican restaurant had only been open for two weeks, when we tried it. The restaurant's opening was so successful that it's small dining room already was too small. It contains four booths, two tables, and one unisex bathroom. We arrived for dinner at 4 pm on a Friday. We chose a booth. By 4:30 pm, all of the booths were taken. By 4:45 pm, no seating was left in the restaurants, and people were waiting for tables. We got the shrimp ceviche and the chili rellenos. Both were excellent. We also got a Martini and a Mexican beer. The entrees come with beans and rice, but you can substitute other sides for them, such as guacamole or avocado slices. The chips are excellent: thick and not greasy. They have vegetarian black beans. Although they have many choices of cocktails and beers, they oddly have no wine. Perhaps that will change in the future. We noticed there seems to be an available, unused store next door in the same strip mall. Hopefully this restaurant will expand into that space, since the current dining room is too small for such an excellent Mexican restaurant. read more

Stopped into Lulu's Latin food for lunch not really knowing what to expect. The restaurant is located in a strip center and limited seating, but it's worth a visit! The chips and salsa are amazing. The salsa has a little smokiness to it and the perfect spice for the whole family. I tried the organica margarita and it was so good! For lunch we had the mole lover and the chile relleno. Both dishes were top notch and would highly recommend. If you're in Lawrence make sure this is on your list! read more

Very good! I've tried a few Mexican places in LFK since moving here, and this is definitely the best so far. Chips and salsa are good, service is great, and food is authentic and delicious. I ordered the quesabirria which I'd never had before, and the little tacos are served with a dip that's similar to au jus. The flan was also awesome. Bf really liked his chicken mole as well. Happy to support a new local business. We will be back before long! read more

My first time at Lulu's Latin Food and it was one of the best meals i've had this month! You walk in thinking you pay at the register and sit for your food but we had great service the whole time. Although the area inside is small it gives a great environment to feel like everyone in the restaurant is experiencing everything together as one. I ordered the Chilaquiles Mexicanos w Carne Asada and it was magnificent. I complimented them with an order of plantains which were sweet and crispy. Also featured in the review is their street tacos with shrimp and shredded chicken complimented with their street corn. If you like corn on the cob, street corn is the way you should go. As our drink we had the berrita trios pitcher. If you're thinking about drinking the pitcher is the best value. Poured 6 total drinks to the brim with a pitcher at the price of $19.99. About $3.33 a drink! Please do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it one bit. read more

At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. I had asked about the gluten-free bun since they can sometimes be dry, but didn't receive much insight beyond "it's gluten free," and sadly it was indeed very dry. The chicken itself lacked flavor, though the goat cheese cilantro sauce helped make it somewhat enjoyable. The fries looked homemade and delicious but arrived cold. The steak was cooked as requested, but it didn't have much flavor beyond the mushrooms on top. The broccoli side was tasty, and the potatoes were good, though it on a bed of Some kind of cheese sauce that wasn't quite to our liking. Overall, the space and gluten-free availability were promising, and the appetizers and drinks were enjoyable, but the food execution and service details didn't quite meet expectations for us this visit.
