I was even recalling the same thought I had on our most recent visit: Why aren't there more cafes that just serve coffee on the Rambla de Catalunya? Why? WHYYY??!! Oh boy, I just sounded like Nancy Kerrigan after her knee was throttled. But I am serious because every other spot on the long multi-block concourse was a full-fledged restaurant, and we just wanted to sip something warm. We sat ourselves down at one of the sidewalk tables where caffeinated Catalans were already holding court. Jamie and I were getting ready for dinner at 4amb5 down the street in El Raval. Lots of choices, it was difficult to pick just one. Ultimately I settled on a savory crepe with an egg, 'chorizo", and tomato. It wasn't long and the crepe was ready, large and folded into a square, the egg staring back in the middle. It was a good crepe and a good lunch, a generous number of chorizo slices.
