My girlfriend picked La Perla Tapatia and we DoorDashed our dinner. Our food knocked us right out. I love Mexican cuisine and this is the best I have had in roughly ten years. My girlfriend got three pork tacos with pineapple. They were stellar due to high-quality meat that was perfectly prepared. The pineapple added some great flavor to the dish without adding sweetness. My barbacoa burritto (no rice by choice) came heavy with exceptional meat and flavor. Absolutely incredible and well balanced. And their guacamole is phenomenal. Although we cannot wait to order from here again, we look forward to visiting the restaurant. As a 5+ year resident in southern california i've come fairly accustomed to Mexican cuisine. I have my go-to's as well as trying something new from time to time to enrich my taste. that being said i was very interested in seeing what mexican food on the east coast could offer me. It's a small restaurant with limited parking and the dining space being fairly spacious considering its size. Walking in we approach an empty podium but are greeted with a warm welcome within seconds of entering. Our waitress politely greeted us and let us choose our seating. Within a few minutes we received menus and assistance with spice levels and items on the menu and for food i chose a few items. I started with a Chicken and cheese empanada. presentation was good and the flavor was OK but also isnt something i typically get. i didn't eat it right away and will say it's something that's best eaten the moment it hits the table. A few minutes later came the Flautas and i don't like to compare my food to other places but i couldn't help but think of my Fathers flautas when eating these. again, presentation is nice and they weren't inedible but it felt like something was missing. Minutes later came the Carnitas and barbacoa tacos with 1 of them being the carnitas and the rest barbacoa. The waitress recommended i eat the carnitas first then move onto the barbacoa. Doing just that i ate the carnitas and was immediately blown away. The Pico was well made and the flavor was something new, i couldn't compare nor think of something similar to its taste and that became my favorite thing there but moving forward the barbacoa was fairly the same as the flautas in the sense that something was missing. Presentation was good and the crunch on the tacos was just right; not too crispy, not too soft. My girlfriend has the Carne Asada plate with her rating being a 3/5 stating the carne asada was thinner than she prefers and portions being slightly uneven. Overall i'd give it a 3/5 but i give it a 4 due to excellent service. The ambiance is slightly lacking but is something that could improve overtime. For the price id say this place is a great choice for their tacos but some items are questionable. I would come back here again! read more

When it comes to Mexican food in the Lehigh Valley, this spot is about as authentic as it gets. I went with a friend who loves Mexican cuisine, and I knew she'd appreciate the traditional flavors here. We both started with the chicken enchiladas. The soft flour tortillas were filled with chicken, melted cheese, and refried beans, and then topped with lettuce, a flavorful guajillo sauce, and Mexican cheese and cream, all served alongside a classic side of rice and beans. After the enchiladas, we shared the birria tacos. The double-layered corn tortillas were perfectly crisp and filled with tender barbacoa and melted mozzarella, served with fresh cilantro, diced onion, lime, and a rich consommé. I haven't had Mexican food this good in quite a while, and La Perla Tapatia really delivered. A family-run operation with superlative authentic food. Great people. A small but pleasant dining area. They do a lot of takeout business.

Food is fine but definitely pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. We've been here a handful of times. Most recently we came on a Thursday night. Our party was 4 adults and an infant. The restaurant was empty except for one other table of 3 people and a guest waiting for their to go order. We were told we'd need to wait for a table since we didn't call ahead to let them know we would be there with a party larger than 4. We certainly respect their policies but felt like we were being scolded. We ultimately decided not to stay since the interaction had us a little uncomfortable. We likely will not return to this restaurant. Again, the food is fine. They don't make anything spicy so you can add hot sauce to get to your preferred spice level. For the price and service, we personally don't feel like it's worth the trip. read more

Amazing, rich flavors, and wonderful service. Horchata was light and refreshing. The traditional Mexican soup was piping hot, good amount of meat in it, and came with chips. It was so cozy for a rainy day. The Birria Tacos were DELICIOUS. It was my first time trying it and it was as good as others folks said it would be!! The tacos were full of meat and cheese and the consume was extremely flavorful. Dipping a spoon of rice in the consume was a great tip. My family and I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants in PA NJ and TX. This is by far the best. The ingredients are fresh and so flavorful!!! And unique dishes I've never had before as well as old favorites. I had tacos carnitas tonight, how can they be special? It's simple, right?! Well these were just a little sweet with super flavorful meat, just enough fat to taste good but not enough to notice, LOTS of cilantro, onion, lime. Best tacos I ever had. Just super! It's a family business. The waitresses are so friendly, they make you feel like you are visiting them in their home. They make recommendations on what to order and how to eat it. I love this place! It is a true gem, and anyone looking for the best authentic Mexican food, this is the best near Nazareth, PA. The service was perfect, and our drinks stayed full!! The ambiance was great! We had tangerine jarrito's, Mexican coke and some delicious horchata. Our appetizer was a carnitas quesadilla, which was perfect and so yummy! Then we both got the 3 birria taco platters. We got specific instructions from the owner on how to eat them, and it was so good!! The barbacoa beef was so tender and flavorful. This place is no joke. I was nervous about Mexican food in the Lehigh Valley area, because honestly, most of the food here isn't that great. The guac here alone will bring me back. I'm not sure if there are other staff but today we had mom, dad and daughter running the show. The daughter is an awesome server for her age and was very attentive and knowledgeable about what was truly good on the menu. In my opinion this is some of the best cooked Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life. We leave for Isla Mujeres in June for the 2nd time and coming here tonight has me very excited for our trip! We will be back for sure! And I can't wait! read more
