Found the waiter annoying as he acted like it was a hassle to wait on anyone. Think he would have preferred no one coming in. Place could have been a little cleaner and should be better maintained. Table was wobbly. Know what to expect going here. Average food, average service and a place that's just going thru the motions to last as long as possible. Friendly attentive staff. Started with the guacamole which came out instantly and was clearly prepared ahead of time and weirdly had a lot of diced onion both mixed in and on top, I like onion but not swamping my avocado. Pork tacos came out piping hot and the tortillas were good but the marinated pork while tender had no taste. The skirt steak in the carne asada was pounded thin and cooked thoroughly rather than medium rare as ordered and again it lacked taste. I stopped in for lunch today after reading all the yelp reviews and I am so happy I did. It was AMAZING!!!! I had shrimp taco salad and my daughter had the shrimp fajitas. The food was seasoned appropriately and full of flavor. The place is nicely decorated with traditional Mexican Decor. The waiter was friendly. When we sat down we were given chips and salsa. Another Mexirican substitute for Mexican cuisine. 2 takeout entrees ordered: Enchiladas de carnitas and Fish Tacos. Absolutely no flavor. Watered down beans so tasteless I wasn't sure I took a forkful. Tried to doctor them up at home but nada! Used Tilapia in their fish tacos...that's a NO! Flavorless fish, weird salsa used. Even the chips and salsa offered gratis, were inedible. Salsa was like jarred pizza sauce with bit of cilantro. Hard overcooked chips never ever served or even found in Mexico. Zero onions, garlic, salt and pepper, added to the prep of anything I tried to eat. Qualifications: Mexican food eater and critic from residing many years in Southern California, and frequent trips into Mexico with friends living in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Baja. Ordered take out on a Friday night. Order was ready in less than 15 minutes. Portions were decently large and flavors were great. I ordered the diablo shrimp and it actually packed some heat. New Englanders would probably find it too spicy. For me, it was great. Wife ordered burrito, couldn't finish it in one shot although she wanted to. $2 for extra hot sauce leaves them a 2 star review. We went to their other location, and it was amazing. I was anticipating the same from this location. The menu is similar and has a lot of options. This location did not offer drinks. We got the guacamole and chips. It was not too spicy for the kids. We got 2 kids' meals with cheese quesidillas and enchiladas. For the enchiladas, they made them too spicy for kids. The cheese quesidillas were as expected. Sadly, the winner for the kids was the side of rice. I got the chicken chilaquiles. We were warned that they weren't made spicy, but they could give us hot sauce. Typically, they don't charge you extra for that, but I feel like this place should alert you to the charges. Now the chips were way too soggy. It barely had cheese and the shredded chicken lacked much flavor. We also ordered the vegetable chimichanga with spinach. These were also pretty mild in flavor. The spinach seemed fresh and the sauce it came with was ok. The ambiance is similar to its sister location. It's got these cool tables with a cancun or local Philly theme.
