Went to try this ! Because my husband wanted to try The place was nice staff friendly! Was able to have a conversation with light music in the background We complementary sauce and chips, which I can make better salsa at home order our meal. I had the seafood enchiladas it has seafood but it taste like nothing. My husband insisting I'm bringing my leftovers Home, which I know he's not going to eat he had chicken enchilada, which at least had a little bit of package seasoning! The tostones were the driest I ever had House margaritas needed some help. I think they had a premade pitcher behind the bar ! There is still hope for improvement if they get the right person and seasoning! But I won't be going back for seconds This place is up there on the mantle in second place just like the place Stroudsburg on Main Street Marita's I'm the one who's one and done but this time my husband agrees!

Visited this evening with my family of 7. Our son was celebrating his 21st birthday, but had also just played in our homecoming football game v Princeton on Bicentennial Weekend so there was a lot going on. Parking next door made it easy. Initially they did not have enough room for us, but with an extra pretty please, they were able to accommodate. The hostess and server, Jarrin (spelling?), were great! The dining area is cute and restrooms are easily accessible. The chips were good, but the salsa is a bit runny. We got the guacamole with Chorizo as an app, and it was delicious, but small. The calamari was good as well. All of our food was solid. The quesadillas and tacos are on the smaller side, but the burrito and nachos were larger portions. The birthday boy got a free dessert, which was a nice gesture. The flan, fried ice cream, and churros were all great! No autograt, but I tipped 20% regardless. After tax and tip, the tab came to $250+ for the 7 of us. We would definitely return!

Our 2nd time here. Food is good service is good. My issue has to do with the Margarita pricing. My husband ordered a margarita and wanted OJ instead of sour mix. First one was brought out and had sour mix in it with OJ added. Replacement was good - but when the bill came we were charged $9 for the margarita and then $3 because it was made fresh and then $3 for Grand Marnier, which they spelled incorrectly on the receipt. It was a $15 margarita that didn't taste close to that. I ordered a top shelf margarita and was charged $11 + $2 to make it top shelf. It tasted more like low shelf because if a top shelf tequila was used, I'm sure I would have tasted some tequila instead of just sours.... Very disappointing. Shrimp and scallops was delicious. Carne asada quesadillas were good. Come for the food because they will kill you with poorly mixed and over expensive margaritas.

The tacos were delicious. Got shrimp and mahi tacos. Service took 45 minutes. The restaurant decor was traditional Mexican restaurant style. Bathroom toilet was falling over. Might want to call a plumber

Make a quick stop fr lunch while coming back from PA to Jersey. Its nice place with nice decor with murals and bright colors, big indoor seating and outdoor tables as well on the sidewalk. We sat at the bar, ordered few drinks. Bartender was very friendly and took order right away. We ordered guac and falafel tacos to eat - Guac was good but tacos was lacking flavors. Overall a nice experience.

Epic taco Tuesday. Warm atmosphere with friendly staff. $2.50 taco special can't be beat!! House margaritas were good for the price. Check them out!

Ok the only reason I am giving one star is because of the food. Our waitress, Catana, was amazing. Her service was impeccable. She did everything in her power to make sure we are taken care of and she was so pleasant! Ok now on to the food. Possibly the worst food I've ever had. The chips were crumbs from the bottom of the bag. The salsa was salsa water. Guacamole was ok it wasn't the greatest... there was no freshness to it. I ended up getting the Spicy Fried Chicken Bowl. The chicken in this bowl seemed frozen. The chicken tasted just like those frozen chicken Patties you get in school for lunch. There were no veggies in the bowl... No depth of flavor. It was a very flat dish... it did not insight my tastebuds or give me a flavorful experience. It was literally black beans, rice, and slivers of pickled ginger. Would've liked to see some pico de gallo, crema, guacamole... fresh chicken. The chicken fajitas: chicken was not well done... the rice was straight not cooked... and the beans were just unappetizing. One positive note I could say though was we asked for jalapeño on the fajitas and they delivered! I've been here in the past and had great food. I'm not sure if last night the kitchen ran out of ingredients or was having an off day...

Top to bottom: shrimp tacos, palomino chips and guac, brisket tacos

the pricing(especially on taco Tuesday and margarita Mondays) is great for what you get. the food is awesome, especially the tacos and guac. the service has always been excellent and the atmosphere is one of the better ones I've been to in Easton this far.

When I see Mexican in a restaurants name I assume Mexican food. Having also worked in a Mexican restaraunt setting for nearly 7 years I know it won't always be the same exact things on the menu or the same presentation but nonetheless similar in a way. This, however, was not the case here. Looking over the menu, some of the items weren't per say Mexican items. More of like a Mexican fusion I'd say. To set the tone: My wife went to ask the server what charro beans were, before I could explain to her, and the server had no clue. We both ordered sodas, and a guacamole. The guacamole came out very quick, the chorizo in it looked almost like little raisins, but we both enjoyed it. The salsa was a bit underwhelming, just tasted like tomatoes and onions. The restaraunt wasn't really busy when we ordered, maybe 3 other tables seated, and one was already eating. We ordered before this 6 top table next to us so we assumed we'd be good! Wrong! Our food came out after the entire table received theres and had eaten at least half there plates. Our server really wasn't visible half the time either to ask her how much longer till ours came out. We can't attest to past reviews where they mentioned being charged for refills as we only got one soda each, but the food was good. My wife really enjoyed her massive burrito, and my plate was more of a Colombian/Cuban fusion. But it was also good, be aware the tostones come with chimichurri sauce on it, the menu doesn't have it listed. Glad we got to try it but not sure if we'd come back. Also there is parking next to the restaraunt!

A favorite of locals and visitors alike. Always busy so get a reservation! This is not your standard Mexican restaurant with your classic tacos and burritos, definitely more elevated but so good. Love their guacamole with chorizo, margaritas, and nachos. Great for a date, dinner with a group of friends, or just a regular night out.

It's open Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. My friend and I made our first visit early Friday evening. The service was good, and the food more than lived up to expectations. We started with tender, well-seasoned beef skewers, crispy buffalo wings over blue cheese, and perfectly cooked roasted cauliflower paired with a tasty tzatziki sauce and pickled onion. For my entree, I ordered the maple-glazed short rib. It was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and came with creamy sweet potato puree and roasted shallots. My friend ordered the rich, deeply flavorful bolognese. Although she received the small plate portion rather than the entree, it wasn't a major issue as we had more than enough food. There are still many items on the menu I'd like to try, and after such a strong first visit, I'll most certainly be back.

We're on board with, and on record as saying to all our friends that, MVD is our favorite spot. But…read moresince we like trying new places too, we had to come back for the first time in over a year. It's not just the variety of tapas options, or the incredible wine selection, or the impeccable hospitality that will keep you coming back; it's the culinary journey rarely taken where the food transports you and you just sit back speechless thinking, "that was IT, where has this been?" You'll leave completely stuffed, and they'll be drinks... lots of drinks; but the concoctions are adventurous and more than worth trying a few of, and that's before you get to the wine list. They know their stuff; they travel the world to find inspiration for their own curated menu, but bring lesser-known varietals to the forefront that really challenge your palate and leave you needing to speak directly to the associate at the wine and spirits store, in the best way possible. If you have an unoaked chardonnay available, I immediately like you! You don't have to wait long once you order for those tasty shareable plates to come firing out; they're quick, efficient but also know how to help you pace your meal. Funny thing about this meal (that we shared with another couple we go touring with) is that it turned into a Catholic-guided, Lent-abiding seafood extravaganza, which was not necessarily our goal on approach. I love when a place really surprises you with things you wouldn't typically think to pair together or even order, and they become some of your favorite things altogether. Case in point, the escargot; most escargot I've ever had was rubbery, soaked in butter and masked with garlic. None of that was going on here, and they even did the work for you with the shells. Anything fried (empanadas, yuca fries, oysters, seabass tacos) had a very even, full but thin breading. Not a trace of residual oil, nothing heavy about it and still the right temp inside to not blast the filling. I really enjoyed the oysters, and the pickled radish and shallot would be good as an accompaniment for ANYTHING. The chimichurri is spot on, and anytime it appears on the menu, which it does several times, you should get those items. The butter sauce with a camarones was drinkable, the empanadas never disappoint, and the almond tart with wine-poached pears for dessert was literal perfection. Overall, our favorite drink was the Holy Smokes and they have a team-oriented approach to presenting dishes table side. Fun and friendly, the staff is knowledgeable, patient and has great personal recommendations, all with legit culinary knowledge. Go...like, now!

¡Vamos a tapear!…read more This is my first time in Wilkes-Barre and after almost a week of eating pizza, and other assorted quick bites across the town, I was in the mood for something more. I'm from Las Vegas, and I can only eat so much pizza! MVD was recommended to me by someone who hasn't even dined here yet if that tells you how much people talk about this place. It's about 12 mins or so from where I am staying near the arena/Kings College area and is easy to access with its own parking lot. When I walked up, I was very impressed. It is so cute and welcoming! There's a bar at the front when you walk in and you're immediately greeted by smiling faces. The face that greeted me belonged to Brian. (I hope it's with an I and not a Y...sorry if not!) He immediately sat me for my solo reservation and made sure I understood the concept and menu and gave me some time to look it over. They are only open from 5-9 and I arrived at 7:15pm. Nearly everything is made fresh in house (even the ravioli are hand stuffed...wow) and Brian couldn't give the chef enough props for what she does there every day. I ordered the chicken empanada, camarones (shrimp), and mini hamburguesas as well as a caipirinha (alcoholic drink). Tapas are small plates, almost like appetizers, and although the servings are not large, the flavors are so rich it feels like they are! Everything made me do a "happy dance" and I even saved the sauce from my shrimp to dip my burger in. It didn't need it at all, but I couldn't let the sauce go! The empanada...jeez. I wish I remembered to take a photo before I dove in. And the mini burgers...Immaculate. The ambiance is so welcoming. I ended up speaking to every diner around me and even got to talk to another foodie couple who traveled there from some towns over after discovering MVD on a prior visit. They told me something I already knew as well: I'll be back to try the things I missed because YOU CANT GO WRONG! Sal, Brian, and there was a woman at the front as well were all great. And they have a promotion where you send a postcard to anyone you want after your meal. So cute!! I will def visit MVD EVERY time I come to Wilkes-Barre and support them bringing new flavors to the town. I can't rave enough!

My girlfriend got three pork tacos with pineapple. They were stellar due to high-quality meat that was perfectly prepared. The pineapple added some great flavor to the dish without adding sweetness. It's a small restaurant with limited parking and the dining space being fairly spacious considering its size. Walking in we approach an empty podium but are greeted with a warm welcome within seconds of entering. Our waitress politely greeted us and let us choose our seating. Within a few minutes we received menus and assistance with spice levels and items on the menu and for food i chose a few items. I started with a Chicken and cheese empanada. presentation was good and the flavor was OK but also isnt something i typically get. i didn't eat it right away and will say it's something that's best eaten the moment it hits the table. A few minutes later came the Flautas and i don't like to compare my food to other places but i couldn't help but think of my Fathers flautas when eating these. again, presentation is nice and they weren't inedible but it felt like something was missing. Minutes later came the Carnitas and barbacoa tacos with 1 of them being the carnitas and the rest barbacoa. The waitress recommended i eat the carnitas first then move onto the barbacoa. Doing just that i ate the carnitas and was immediately blown away. The Pico was well made and the flavor was something new, i couldn't compare nor think of something similar to its taste and that became my favorite thing there but moving forward the barbacoa was fairly the same as the flautas in the sense that something was missing. Presentation was good and the crunch on the tacos was just right; not too crispy, not too soft. My girlfriend has the Carne Asada plate with her rating being a 3/5 stating the carne asada was thinner than she prefers and portions being slightly uneven. Overall i'd give it a 3/5 but i give it a 4 due to excellent service. The ambiance is slightly lacking but is something that could improve overtime. For the price id say this place is a great choice for their tacos but some items are questionable. I would come back here again!
