The staff are super nice and friendly, they know all of the students and always say hello to you and the kids. She is great when it comes to communicating and interacting with them. My daughter has learned so much in her class. I am very proud of what she has been able to accomplish and seeing her progress in various subjects is exciting. I can only speak on behalf of a parent of a vpk child, but apart from vpk, this is a daycare as well. The center does many fun things with the children and every event they have here is catered to all of the kids. They have done something fun and family oriented for just about every holiday and will have special events from time to time that coincide with what the students are learning that week. There are plenty of chances for parents to volunteer their time here which is great. The staff involves themselves with the parents and care givers very nicely but there is room for improvement. I will say that I wish there was just a bit more communication when it comes to what the kids do on a daily basis in vpk. My daughter being 4 will do a million and one cool things at school but once she comes home, she has no clue what happened no matter how many unique questions I ask her and in various forms. When I go to the school and see inside the classroom, I get a better idea of how the day goes and all the great work Ms. Shelby puts in with her students. It would be nice to receive something concrete showing a schedule from the school with what they typically do first thing in the morning and sequentially after that. It is briefly discussed when meeting the teacher for the first time, but there is so much to take in that day that it is too much for the parents to be expected to remember it all. I also don't hear much about how my daughter does in school both emotionally and physically. What she really needs work on vs what she does great in (apart from what I observe at home and what I receive after a major state exam). I was told that I could sit in on the teacher and watch during the day to see what goes on, but I have another child and can't do that. What if I worked during the day? Plus, sitting in on the class would be disruptive to the teacher and students in my opinion. Apart from better communication, the center is very well run, organized, has caring staff, and proves to be involved in the education and care of each individual child. So far, I would recommend this center to another parent.

Why do you have a waitlist, but allow BAD kids to stay enrolled. Why don't you use common sense and allow other children an education by removing the troubled students. My kid was there to learn! This place has zero structure, zero capabilities to adequately teach children let alone be trusted to watch over them. The teachers are rude and snappy. They served my son juice and outdoor water from the fountain on the playground. My son has never had juice, it's terrible for Childrens dental health, and the tap water in this area is hazardous you can't drink it! I would avoid this place. Do better

The building might look small and a little older than a lot of the new ones in the area, but this one just felt like a perfect fit. My grandson was 15 months when he started. In the 15 months he's been there, he's knows his ABC's both upper and lower case, and the sounds most letters make. He can count up to at least 30. He knows so many colors and shapes (some I couldn't even remember the proper name of). Best of all, he loves this place and so do I.

We were toured by a former student as well. She helped us feel really at ease about their program. First day was very nervous, as expected. That was the last time we were nervous. The staff is SO unbelievable there. We couldn't have asked for a better place to keep him. Even when we moved 30 minutes away, we still kept him at the school for as long as we could. We love Childrens Academy and everything they stand for!
