Excellent childcare center. My son attended for 2 years, and my daughter now attends. They both love school, and I can see them via camera whenever I want. The staff have always been lovely and greet us with smiles. Difficult kids can be difficult. Parents need to appreciate that. We LOVE La Petite! Our daughter has been attending since she was 6 months old and she will be 4 next January. We have had the pleasure of seeing her move onto each class as well as interacting with all the sweet and dedicated teachers within each class. If I could give 10 stars, I would. My autistic son goes here and ever since Mrs. Jamie started it's been a smoother transition getting him to stay at school. He used to cry every morning and not want to stay but Mrs. Jamie always greets him with open arms and a warm welcome and always remembers the things he likes to get him more comfortable. He's been thriving ever since. She's also been very helpful and purchased my son a bento lunchbox, as I am a single mom and wasn't able to afford one myself at the moment and I was fortunate enough and so grateful that Mrs. Jamie helped me out. I was super nervous about how my son would adjust with the other kids but he is doing great we love our La petite family if I ever decide to have more kids I will be definitely sending them to La petite! Our autistic 3 year old son has been here for 1 year. We thought things were going well but the director had an issue with our son's assistant (RBT) who is paid for through our insurance and not a La Petite employee . They didn't communicate directly to us as parents about their perceived issues , they went to our case manager and then told him they demanded our son's assistant be banned . I called the director who pointed fingers at her "corporate" and district manager. I spoke to the district manager who said she had to talk to HR (not sure why this was an HR matter). Their issue was not with our son but that they wanted to ban his therapist with whom he loves and takes great care of him. We wouldn't do that to him, she's essentially part of our family now. My biggest issue that the school never alerted us to any of their concerns. While I know they're all unfounded, and exaggerated, it's unacceptable the school did not notify us. Long story longer, this place may look nice, and they certainly charge a very high tuition.. but I would not recommend this place to anyone ESPECIALLY if you have an autistic or special needs child. Poor communication. (But they're sure effective at sending multiple reminders to all families that tuition is due) Poor management. Overpriced. Just an overall disappointment . It's a franchise chain and they are part of a conglomerate of day cares. It's all about the profit, they don't care about your child and it shows in their management . Went for a tour and everything looked lovely and added myself to the waitlist. When I needed to reach back out to change my initial need from part to full time I couldn't get anyone to answer or return my call. It literally was weeks of calling at different times of the day until someone picked up. I was told a certain time period but it's long come and gone and no one ever reached out. For the cost of this daycare I would expect the customer service to be top notch. I took this as a sign that this wasn't the daycare for me. It was actually out of my way to take my child here but I thought it would be worth it. Feel like I dodged a bullet and am super happy with where my child ended up. read more

We have brought our son to La Petite since he was 7 months old and are really grateful for the fantastic care from the teachers and Ms. Samantha/Ms. Melissa. Our son has learned so much over the last 14+ months and we truly feel he is in such great hands that genuinely care about him each day. The teachers are in constant communication through their internal app about what your children are eating, when they are napping, sending pictures of all the crafts and games they are playing - and if you want to you can follow along on video to check in throughout the day. I have an autistic child and I have never been so humiliated in my life before, the school's motto is "Be the change you want to be in the world", the biggest hypocrisy I have ever seen. My son was literally kick out from the school because his syndrome, the way he got expelled was gross, inhuman and lack of empathy. I'm very frustrated so here is my review and I'm sure it'll be helpful to whom consider to put their children in there. I was impressed with the onboarding process at this center when I needed immediate care for my 2 and a half year old, son. I called one day, scheduled a tour for the next day, and elected to register my son following the tour. Prior to this, my son attended another center (similar to La Petite Academy) for over 2-years but I was concerned that he wasn't receiving proper care tailored to his speech and developmental delay. I was very transparent about this with the director and the teachers in the Pre-K class at La Petite Academy and was even informed that this wasn't the first time a family has reported a similar situation. My son attended La Petite Academy for 8-days before I terminated his enrollment. This center has an open floor plan with no doors or gates to keep children within their own classroom, other than with verbal instruction. On the 8th day, I received an Incident Report for a safety issue, and was advised that my son attempted to leave the center and that it's not manageable for the teachers to chase after him. After discussing the issue at hand with my husband, we felt it would be in the best interest for our son to give a 2-week notice, and place him back in a center with closed off rooms. When I emailed the director to provide notice, she proceeded to say that my son has displayed very challenging behavior. I explained that he hasn't had the opportunity to comfortably transition into a new environment with new people and that his actions aren't malicious, it's simply him displaying typical toddler behavior who doesn't have the ability to exercise self control and that it's normal to push boundaries. The directors response was "please understand, this is not typical 2 and a half year old behavior". This person is supposed to be the heart of the center and to say that this isn't normal toddler behavior, when a child has only attended the center for 8-days is just showing how incompetent this person is to oversee a center of multiple children. Thankfully, I was able to find immediate alternative care and was offered to waive the 2-week notice so that my son does not have to continue care. I did contact Customer Service Thursday morning, and was informed that I would receive a call from the Regional Director within 24-hours; however, I still have not been contacted by Monday afternoon. read more

We brought our kids (age 6 and 2) to La Petite Concord for a week while visiting family in the area, and had a truly wonderful experience. The teachers and staff were loving, kind, and professional. Even our 2 year old, who struggles with new places and faces, didn't fuss and drop off. If we lived nearby, I would definitely bring my kids here full time--and we'll be back next summer! read more

My two children attended La Petite in Concord for such a long time! I mean at least two years a child! I had a wonderful experience and absolutely loved it! My two kids thrived there socially and they had so much fun. Within the past 6-8 months a new director arrived and I noticed things went south. She was very nice and professional to me so I have nothing negative to say about her. Unfortunately it seemed as if the whole culture changed. The teachers seemed overworked, stressed and in a foul mood. I must say that I have always noticed a quick turnover in teachers at this facility but they were all wonderful so I didn't mind. I did notice though that my usually sweet boy was acting up. I was getting notifications of him hitting other kids and not interacting with the class. I pulled him out and put him in Kindergarten terrified of how he would act! He's doing great! I personally think the change in teachers and director added to his stress. Plus. like I mentioned the teachers looked stressed and overworked! read more

This school trash doesn't care about making this world a better place, it doesn't embrace disability. My son has autism, he is a very sweet, intelligent and verbal child, he was suddenly expelled from this school just because he did not want to sit for a long time (which is totally expected for an autistic child), when I went to pick up my son we were treated in a super rude way, he spent 3 days in an anxiety crisis because of this episode, and I'm still having a lot of problems to get my money back. This was the worst experience we have ever had with a school and with prejudice. I do not recommend this school to anyone, disabled or not. read more

My child has been attending La Petite for over a year now and it has been a great experience. Both the director and teachers are responsive to your request and helpful with any need you may have. They will accommodate as much as they can. There is staff turnover and unfortunately I expect that given the industry; however, each teacher I've come across are professional and helpful. **UPDATE 9/13/23 -- Unfortunately nothing good to say. I'll try and keep this short. Teresa finally got back to me the Friday before Labor Day, I requested to look the video footage and she told she can't do that because it would compromise the safety of the other children, ok cool I can respect that. So I told her about the incident that happened that I saw Ms. Kim yanking my sons arm aggressively and she said she would pull the video footage to review. The incident happened on a Monday and when she did finally get back to me it was Friday (4 days later). She told me that the video records only record for 1 week then it records over itself so anything beyond 1 week is "lost footage". So she told me she would put in that request to pull the footage since it was still there so she can review and she would get back to me the following week. It wasn't until I hung up that I realized it was a holiday weekend and she was requesting to pull footage on a Friday afternoon. I'm sure you can see where this is going .. she called me Tuesday letting me know because of the holiday weekend the request didn't get in on time and the footage was "recorded over". Such bullshit. Needless to say I was pissed. So I asked her what are you going to do about this then because I know what I saw and you guys took no urgency to see for yourself KNOWING that it would be recorded over by Monday. So much for the safety of our kids right. All she told me was "we'll take this as a learning opportunity for our staff and implement retraining and coaching" WOW. So glad my son could be a victim of abuse to teach your staff to me more mindful of other people's children. Shame on this establishment. Nobody's child needs to be made an example of abuse to provide a "learning opportunity" for your staff. Anyone wanting to take their child here or is currently there now, please keep in mind the video footage only records for a week. If they are saying your child is not abiding by the rules and is getting written up constantly, ask to see the footage immediately of the incidents. My son doesn't act the way they described him to be and I wish I would have asked for the footage earlier. I believe my son was just acting out from abuse. He started a new daycare in the area and it's been a couple weeks now and I haven't gotten one phone call. Proof enough my son was not the problem. read more

Since Mrs. Sam has left. This school has been completely a disaster. The assist director lies about availability to incoming parents. It happened to me when I was trying to sign up. Luckily, something told me to go up there and I talk to Mrs. Sam and she said they did have availability. The pre k teacher (ms. masa) verbally abuses the kids in her class all day. I witnessed this first hand while picking up my child. The "NEW" director Ms. Claudia that replaces Mrs. Sam, is never there and the staff covers for her. She's not the most friendly person and only speaks to parents if they speak first. All she does is seat at the front desk all day while on her phone. I tried to ask her a question and everytime her answer is " Let me get back to you, I have to ask my boss?". How she got this position when she can't answer simple questions amazes me. This post is in direct response to Anonymous A's post on 3/30 and to whomever is posting signs all over Concord regarding the Director at La Petite. First of all posting signs all over Concord is TOTALLY unacceptable and could adversely effect the safety of our children so PLEASE stop. If you have an issue then be "man" enough to direct your frustrations directly with either the school or with their Corporate HQ. Posting signs shows a total disregard for all the parents who send their children to this school. There have been significant changes in the teachers at La Petite over the past 6 months. As with any organisation and La Petite is no different change is difficult and the exodus of teachers was concerning to all the parents. However, the new teachers that have been hired are wonderful, espcially Ms. Tasha and Ms. Michelle. Our kids are well taken care of, are nurtured and loved and every single teacher at the schools knows each and every parent and their child. I am all for new policies, procedures and structure being put in place if it is in the best interests of our children. The not so new Director is very different from the old Director who was much more lax in policy, procedure and what was and was not acceptable. The "new" Director is very open to hearing concerns from any parent and has been very open and forth-coming with the issues and addressing them. Our children are safe, they are learning, they are happy which for a pre-school is all any parent should care about. No pre-school is perfect but I would recommend La Petite to anyone who asked. read more

This review is for the Toddler Classroom. My son was two years old (almost 3) when he enrolled and entered the Two's classroom. I decided to award La Petite a 4-star review because my son liked it there so much. He's the most important part of this review and he truly did love his time there. He looked forward to going to school every morning and hugged his friends and teacher before leaving each day. I knew when I signed him up for La Petite in winter 2017 that it would be a temporary situation as he would be attending a montessori school near our home with his sister in summer 2018. My husband and I chose La Petite because of the proximity to my husband's work, the security of the location, extended hours of care (both parents work), and availability - to be honest, there weren't a lot of other options with open enrollment at the time. Below are a list of the pros and cons that I hope help inform other parents' decision: Pros: - Security: two separate passcode entries and close-circuit video monitoring. Back doors to the playground are alarmed. All in all, I felt the security was up to par and/or exceeded all other locations we looked at. - Friendliness of staff: my son loved his teachers. He's an affectionate baby (we call him "snugglemonster" for a reason) and the teachers were all quick and abundant with the hugs. - Incident reporting and follow-up: accidents were rare but full reports were always provided and explained. I understand that this is probably more CYA on their part but I appreciated the thoroughness. - Daily reports on child's activities: one of the biggest highlights is the school's use of Brightwheel. It's an app that allows the teacher to interact with you during the day and update you on your child's activities, send pictures, and send important messages. It informed me when my child was checked in by my husband for the day, nap times, potty times, lunch and snacks, and when he was checked out. - Meals and snacks provided: breakfast, lunch, and snacks are all included. My child has no food allergies but I do recall the menu being nut free. Not having to worry about packing a lunch and snacks is a huge bonus and definitely one of the things I will l miss. Cons: - Staff turnover: my son was there for almost 7 months and initially had 2 teachers he adored: Ms. Yvette and Ms. G. Unfortunately, both teachers ended up leaving. My son is quick to adapt to change and had no problem with their replacement - he loved Ms. Melissa, too. However, since not all children respond to change well, I had to list this as a con. The director/manager also changed during this time frame but we were given ample warning. - Online payment and cancellation: the online payment system is actually very convenient and a helpful way to avoid late payment fees. However, make sure you deactivate your account on the last day of school or they will continue to bill. Their accounts management staff were very helpful and responded the same day when I notified them of the error so this isn't a major con but was still an inconvenience. - Overall structure / education: it was never clear to us what our son was working on or learning at any given time (i.e. this month we focused on the letters "a" "b" "c", etc.). I was a bit disappointed in the lack of feedback we received on our son's progress or skill level. Again, my son is only 3yrs old and I knew he was going to be enrolling in montessori soon so I didn't make a big deal. This is just something to keep in mind that may require more pro-action on your part as the parent. It's also not to say that they don't teach. My son spoke often about his learning time, showing me his counting, and telling me the letter sounds. I know they definitely spend time educating the children, it's just not a very transparent process. You will need to press for information and feedback. All in all, it's a convenient and safe childcare option as they almost always have openings. If you're looking for a more structured pre-school with a focus on education or bi-lingual education, you might want to look elsewhere for the price. read more

My child has been enrolled here for the past year and I have nothing but great things to say about the daycare, the staff and particularly the Director. I am in constant daily communication with the staff about my daughter's progress and I have yet to experience an unpleasant staff member. It is clear that each staff member not only loves their job, but they each possess a love for children. It is a safe, productive and sanitary environment. It amazes me the things that my child is learning at such a young age. I rest assured that my child is well-regarded each and every day. My two girls were there for 9 months. The staff overall is very nice. During the 9 months, the entire staff turned over. My biggest issue is the management. There were times when I would be speaking with a teacher later in the day and the director would come over to ask the teacher to "clock out" as they now met the state minimum for 1 less teacher. Also, we had an issue of another kid teasing my kids. The teacher acknowledged the issue and tried to help. We also brought it up to the director who claimed my daughter was imagining it. I worked here for almost 5 years under Stephanie and Teresa. I left for career advancement, nothing more. My daughter started as an infant there with Ms. Nazifah- who is the worlds most amazing teacher! I can assure you the claims of teachers sleeping under tables is false, and yes, all facilities aren't perfect but La Petite - especially their DL are AWESOME at educating teachers and aiming for the highest degree of excellence. I never worked with the current Director, but have had pleasant interactions with her and she has always been helpful and respectful with me. Ms. Meme is the heart of La Petite, she loves every child in that center from the moment they start and forever after. I loved every minute of my time with this center, even on days where we were tired and short staffed- just like every other teacher there who truly stands with La Petites philosophy. I would put my little one in La Petite over any other center in a heart beat, and I know full well that my child and every other child in the center will be put before the staff, treated with respect, and given a quality educational experience. read more

La Petite Academy has been our family for the past year. I can not rave enough about Ms Nazifah in the infant room. She truly loves the babies and gives them exceptional care. My transition back to work after my maternity leave was seamless because I was so comfortable leaving him with Ms Naz every morning. My son's face would light up as we pulled into the parking lot. On many occasions, he wouldn't even say good bye to me because he was having too much fun. I will say the price was over our budget. We stayed regardless because our son was thriving. My son went here for two years. The infant teachers are wonderful but once we got into the toddler room we started to see that we needed to switch schools. Unfortunately there were waiting lists everywhere so we decided to ride it out here until our spot opened up at our new school. My son started acting out a lot at school, never anywhere else and other care providers that were friends of ours said they thought the school wasn't a good fit. They called me at work to tell me he spit water and I believe they were just trying to drive us to leave. Things eventually escalated to a point where my son told us that the teachers were yelling at him and we felt they were just mean and not loving. I personally witnessed them reprimanding children by grabbing them by their arms & dragging them away from a situation while scolding them. The four months we were in the two's class they had 4 different teachers so there isn't consistency or stability. The Director's whiny baby talk voice is like nails on a chalkboard. She is incompetent and we caught her in many lies over the two years we were there. They also don't give parents much notice for parties they allow you to come to, if you get two weeks notice that's a miracle. The kids bathrooms always seemed to smell like urine and one was constantly out of order. I witnessed a diaper change (my son) that was so disastrous he needed a bath when we got home. There was major cross contamination going on. You can imagine how bad it is when someone is not watching. They "wash" the water cups every night in a sink (in the classroom) that doesn't even have hot water. Any time they get a decent teacher they leave or get moved to another class. Most new teachers have the minimum required classes or are finishing those when they start working. I'm sure I'm forgetting things but I would not send my child here and it was really sad that they ended up treating my son & us the way they did after he had been there since he was 4months old. I felt bad like he was in an unloving environment for too long. The only reason we left him there while on the wait list at the new school was because we felt he was happy there and once we realized that was not the case we pulled him out and lost time at work to find a temporary situation until his spot at the new school opened. During that transition time (4 months) he has not had ONE incident or report of bad behavior. He is 2.5 so he is wild and acts up but nothing like the things this school was reporting he was doing. read more

The "rumors" about the new director are not rumors. She is rude and unhelpful and since she came along, things at this center have drastically gone down hill. My daughter use to go here as a drop in, but she will no longer be going back. It's a shame because the infant and one year old teachers are fantastic and loving, but at the toddler level, the teachers seem annoyed that they have to be there. My daughter came home wearing a pull-up when we specifically stated that she was potty training and only needed a pull-up during nap time. They didn't want to have to spend the time taking her to the potty though, so they just slapped a pull up on her all day. Furthermore, three times when we went for pickup, she was wearing pee-soaked pants because they did not take her to the bathroom frequently, and when she had the accidents, they pretended they didn't know and refused to put her in dry clothes. Mornings in this place are complete chaos as well, with ONE teacher for 12 children. Yes, it is allowable by law, but do you really think ONE adult can properly keep her eye on 12 kids while also answering the phone, and opening the front door for walk-ins without an access code? I have seen the morning toddler teacher turn her back on the kids for extended periods of time which is unacceptable. The fact that this place charges top dollar blows my mind. For the safety of your children, please do not send your child to La Petite. read more

My daughter has gone to La Petite for nearly 4 years. She started right after her first birthday, and she has loved every minute of it! Her teachers are awesome, and they work hard to give my daughter and every other child in the school the highest quality of care they possibly can. I have never seen any teacher in all the years I have dealt with this school treat a child badly. The teachers truly love their students and treat them with respect. The director, Teresa, is the most understanding and flexible person there is. She always keeps us informed on not only special events in my daughters classroom, but the entire school. She welcomes parents and gives us ample notice for anything going on at the school; she also encourages families to visit and welcomes everyone. Whenever there has been a problem, which is rare - three times in nearly FOUR YEARS, we are notified immediately and kept informed throughout the day. Ms. Kimberly is an amazing teacher, my daughter has learned so much with her not only academically but socially as well. Ms. Rebecca, Ms. Jillian, Mr. Brooks, and Ms. Catherine are all top of the line teachers that go above and beyond for my daughter on a daily basis to ensure she gets the best care and education possible. Ms. Amanda, who, according to my daughter, is the best cook ever is also very loving and kind. My daughter is a very picky eater and dislikes a lot of meats, Ms. Amanda has helped us a lot to get her to eat more of a variety of food and is always willing to provide an alternative food for her when she knows that she won't eat it. All the teachers here are incredibly talented and dedicated to every child. Thank you La Petite and staff! I really couldn't have picked a better school for my daughter! read more

My 1-yr old daughter and I love LaPetite! The infant and toddler teachers have a special way with each child. My daughter never cries when I leave and is always happy playing when I pick her up. She's been going there part-time for 4 months now. As a professional with a graduate degree it was important for me to find child care that focuses on early child development, socialization & education and not just bottles & diapers. The infant/toddler teachers have weekly activity plans focused on developing large/small motor skills through play as well as learning through books & music. I get a daily report of her activities and interactions with other children as well as her playtime outside. The director is focused on meeting the individual child's needs and I've learned a lot of "tips" from the teachers on everything from tummy time to sippy cups. read more

I used to bring my kids to La Petite for a few years. I pulled them out because of so many changes. All good and long time teachers were gone, some walked out. This new director is incompetent and unreliable. I had the chance to spend a few years with the former director, Ms. Lori and she was great. Since she was replaced by the this new director, everything went downhill since then. Teachers are leaving unhappy and to top it all off, this new director tells us parents that the reason why all the long time teachers are leaving was because they do not want to follow the policies the company wants them to do, this is clearly not true. I highly do not recommend this school for your kids. Our children deserve a much better and quality daycare. read more

We met with the schools director, Lori, who has been employed there for almost fifteen years. Lori was as always, very reassuring to my daughter in law and put her "new mother fears" to rest.
